I just wanted to say CONGRATS to the ladies of Delta Zeta from Long Beach. Last night they won the Presidents Trophy as well as various other awards. It was so awesome to hear them being called the Best House on Campus. Truly deserved!:)

We just got a new store in Wilson...Rugged Warehouse. Does anyone else know anything about this place? They have Juicy Couture in there for $18-$24 a piece. I got a brown velour suit and hot pink top all for under $75 TOGETHER. Same exact suit I saw in Saks. The tags are still in all of the pieces, just cut a little and I can't find anything wrong with any of it. They also have older Seven for All Mankind jeans for around $49, all kinds of Coach bags in different price ranges, JLo stuff, Carlos Santana shoes, and then some really lower end stuff that you would find a department stores.
It was hard to match the Juicy stuff up, but I finally matched a chocolate brown set. It really is the most comfortable stuff ever! Do any of you have one of these stores around? Mom said she had seen some in VA and there is one in Raleigh that is suppose to carry really nice stuff. Kinda strange.... |

I really don't know what I want for Christmas either...I was suppose to give my parents my Christmas/Birthday list while I was home for Thanksgiving. I forgot, so now I have to mail it. the pic of your dream dress looks lovely! when my best friend got married two years ago, I went with her to pick out bridesmaid dresses...I loved david's bridal! Can't wait until I have the opportunity to give them some business ;) Well, I am thinking about looking for a new teaching job. I love some of the kids I have taught and their families...but I think I have had enough of this small town. One of the main reasons I stayed here (as silly as it sounds) is it was close enough (if 3 and 1/2 hours is close) to the then bf if something was going to happen between us (and we know now that it is not going to happen, so thank goodness I am not stuck somewhere because of him!) without moving somewhere new, and because of a family I basically became part of my fresh. year of college. The school I have been teaching at for the last 4 years is out in the country, full of old people who have taught for at least 25 years, and the principal and school moral has gone down the pooper. The staff has always been a little unfriendly to me (they hadn't hired anyone new in literally 9 years until me and there is a 20 year age difference between me and them) and the two that I did become close to (the librarian and my other PE teacher) are old enough to be older than my parents and they have decided to retire. SOooo...that leaves me with no one to really talk to. The family that I became so close to over the years is moving. I have basically raised their 3 girls, gone on vacations with them, had dinner with them 2 or more times a week and talk to them on a daily basis. It's not that I don't have friends here, cause I do actually have a few ;) but they are all partnered up with someone and getting married. This town is not a dating town unless you are born and bred here and dating "so and so's" son since college. Some one jokingly said to me "I wouldn't set my own daughter up with someone from here" and they were from here! So....here to thinking about moving to VA! Money-wise I can't do it until next year because of the money I have tied up in retirement here. I need to be here atleast 5 years to make anything off of it. But, I guess I can start thinking, hunh? Being a grown up is scary! Sorry for babbling....its been a rough night. On to happier thoughts....:) |
Amy - The frustrating part is I was SO close.. I failed by a couple of points :mad: Next Thursday I'm going to a workshop on test taking strategies for the PII though.. we'll see.
Where in VA are you looking to move to? I start teaching 7th grade social studies and language arts in 2 week :eek: I'm excited though :) I have been SO tired lately.. it stinks. I just feel like I can't ever get enough sleep.. no matter how early I go to bed. Almost Friday ladies!! wooohooo... I'm excited for NEXT Friday though.. happy 22 to me (on 1/21)!! :D |

On friday, I am taking a group to the special olympics. I would love to see pics! One of my best friends from childhood is getting married either late this year, or sometime early next year (if all goes well!) and I need some ideas for her. Luckily, she's letting us bridesmaid choose our dresses! She said she would rather have us in mumus and happy or put us in aqua taffeta and never hear from us again.

I had the most lazy weekend ever. All I did was sleep and eat mostly (with a few trips to the gym in between) We did have Monday off, which was nice. The weather here is sooo cold...hopefully we will have some snow days soon! Today's excitment at school was I got to break up a fight. Girl fights are rough, especially if they are black girls. The fight wasn't even in my class. It was in the chorus classroom next door and that teacher was just watching. (she is not all there anyway) Braids flying, cat clawing, pulling for earrings. I got one girl from behind and pinned her. All I kept saying was, please don't hit me, please don't hit me. I was really scared that the other girl would try and come after her while i had her and hit me instead. The school cop and principal came and took each one of them. I went into the office and the girl I held back reassured me that she would never hit me. She said that she was worried I was going to get hit by the other girl and then that would have made her more mad. It was a crazy day! I have broke up many fights at school, but it was one of the worst! Sooo...when is someone going to send me some snow?!? ;) Hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I don't want the -21 degrees, just enough snow to get out of school for a few days (which would only be an inch or two) |

An inch or two of snow basically shuts down West Virginia. We have so many windy mountain roads in really bad condition, there'll already hardly passable in some places.
As for COR: We are having an informal meeting Thursday in the girl's dorm's Game Room. The lovely ladies of the Epsilon Delta chapter are joining us to help us out. I'm really excited, as there are a handful of girls who seem enthusatic about joining, which is great, because my campus is pretty apatheic about doing stuff. I love the dress! The back really makes it stand out. The red thing is a cute addition, but I hate dark colors in weddings, even if it's a fall or winter event. It just makes things seem slightly depressing (However, this is coming from a woman who sees no problem with a light turquoise and orange wedding. I actually planned my own wedding using those two colors back my sophmore year in high school.) My other best friend from childhood is in charge of the wedding plan for our friend's wedding, and she wanted a plum and teal wedding. I said no. |
The meeting tonight was fairly successful. However, it started snowing at about noon, and hasn't let up. My CCD was snowed in, so she couldn't come. One girl who's really interested called me and let me know she couldn't come (which was great of her!). We had two ladies show up, though, so I talked to them.
We're supposed to be getting a foot of snow by Saturday from what the Weather Channel said. Yay! Snow day! |

It was snowing like crazy, and I didn't want to keep people too long, so I filled them in on the basics, fees, chapter history, stuff like that. One girl who came told me her husband drove her and he slid through a stop sign. Next week, when we have out next event, we'll do more.

Ohh...what a week. TGIF (and I need to be in bed!)
Well, 2 trips to the dr. this week and 4 antibotics later...I have bronchitis. Teaching middle school and not being able to talk is interesting. Thank goodness one of my Bff's husband is a dr. I had already taken Tues. off because I was suppose to go to traffic court...well, by luck, I ended up being able to take care of it over the phone. The owner of the catering business needed me to work on Tuesday because her husband was having heart surgery, so her and her daughter were not going to work. The other girl who works with me had class all day and since I had already gotten off, I told her I could work for them. It is good money, a lot of fun, and I would do anything for these people. Well, while i was playing hooky from school and working at the Plum, one of my sisters who I had not seen in at least 5 years came in for lunch! I was soooo excited! We talked and talked as much as we could, exchanged numbers (cause she no longer lives here, but does live close by and will be working in my town for a few months) and planned to get together soon! It totally made my day! I miss her soo much! My friends came to my house and threw me a little birthday party tonight. I was really not feeling like going out and needed to do some stuff at my house, so they came over with a cake, beers and the famous b-day shot, and whatnot and hungout with me. It really made me feel loved. Sometimes living in a town without any family is rough, but I have some really special relationships here and I don't know what I would do without these people somtimes. The dr.'s family has sort of adopted me over the last 7 years and they always cook me dinner for my b-day (and almost every other day) and I always look forward to it. We are going skiing for a week the week after next...I can't wait. Snowshoe, here I come (and hope I don't break another foot) My bags are pack and I am ready to head to VA! I can't wait to see mom and dad! Home cooking, being spoiled, and all the other good stuff that comes along with b-day/being sick/being missed. yeayyy for good moms and dads. Hopefully i will buckle down and work on my national boards some. Katie-hows the COB stuff going? Ann Marie-wedding updates? Anyone else got any new news? Well, as you have prob. guessed...I am drugged up and rambling. These meds. make me doopy but I can't sleep. Ughhh! Oh well, guess I will go lay in the bed anyway. The meeting went pretty well tonight. A girl who couldn't make it last weel due to snow was there. She's really enthusastic (pardon my late night spelling) which is what we really need!
My CCD never fails to surprise me. We had talked about doing a recruitment event every week, which is fine with me. Today she sent me a calendar for the next three months, and WOW, am I going to be busy! |

Amy - Wedding updates... not really.. things are kind of frustrating right now. My dad recently lost his job.. my date has been booked in several pleaces.. we're going crazy :( We're not talking about going to Vegas with a few friends and some family and getting married there.. then coming home and having a huge party. My parents said they would give us $6,000 to do that. (We'll see) I officially stepped down at VP of Recruitment today. I came home and cried. Uhg :( I start student teaching tomorrow. 5 AM? How far is your student teaching placement and what time does school start? I wake up at 5:45 AM, go to the gym to workout and still make it to school by 7:35 AM. My first class starts at 8:00 (acutally, thats planning time for me, my class doesn't come until 10 AM, but I still have to be there). I remeber those student teaching days...now almost seems like nothing.
I would almost have to take them up on the Vegas thing. $6,000 would be a lot of money to start a marriage with. If I am over the age of 30, I am seriously thing Vegas or some sort of destination thing. Katie- you are in WV, right? Do you know anything about Snowshoe? I am suppose to be leaving on Sat. morning for a week of skiing (see Ann Marie, when you have your own classroom, you can go off for a week!). I am actually going to babysit for a family that I have basically been a part of years. I have never been skiing before, so if anyone has any suggetions, let me hear them! As of right now, I have bronchitis. It seem like it has been one thing after another this year. I have been on med. since Tues., but it doesn't sound any better. I have not missed work yet, but teaching with no voice is getting old. I went to mom and dad's all weekend and did absolutely nothing. Hopefully I will be better before the ski trip...the dr. is just scared that it may turn into pnenomia (sp, ofcourse). Spending your b-day in the dr. office is no fun! I went up to Snowshoe in WV last winter, although I didn't get to ski because I had just had eye surgery and the doc said no (but that was A-OK with me, because I hate the cold and I hate skiing, but I love sitting in the lodge where it's warm!). It seems like a nice place from what I saw of it, which was just the restaurants/entertainment areas...our lodge was pretty neat (as in clean), so I was happy.

I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! I spent it by myself... BUT my sweetheart IS going to be in town starting next Friday!!! (yay!!!) Amy - I get upa t 5 (ok.. so its like 5:20 by the time I'm finished hitting snooze and actually get out of bed) because of my snooze habbit.. and because my roomate is up then too (we teach at the same school).. plus, school is about 45 minutes away. We need to be there by 7:30.. so we leave at 6:40 :) Anyway.. I have some papers to correct! <3 Ya Ladies! :) |
UHHH....I am soo sitting at my computer trying to go NB work and its not getting done. The most I have gotten done was while I was skiing. I actually did work while I was gone, mostly cause I didn't want to ski. 2 1/2 months to write about 60 more pages and video 2 lessons. Anyone want to help? Not to mention I started coaching soccer today.
How was everyone's V-day. The "ex" or whatever he is came down on Sat. First time we have seen each other since Dec. Things went pretty well, like they always do. We did kinda get hot at each other cause my guy friends were calling all the time. They are just friends, and most have girlfriends...his point was he didn't drive 3 and 1/2 hours to have me on the phone with a bunch of guys. Guess I might have been a little rude and he may have had a point.... Long distance on/off relationships suck...anyone got any suggestions? I did buy him a V-day present...considering I dated him for 4 years. We won't talk about what I didn't get...other than he did drive down (I didn't ask him to) and take me out. My guy friend ( :D ) is back from living in Europe...we are going to dinner this week! Ann Marie- Hows teaching? Anything exciting yet? I was cussed out by a kid the other day. Told me he was going to knock my G.D. teeth through my M.F. mouth...that I wasn't his momma, I wasn't going to tell him what in the H. to do. He has a 10 day vacation! I haven't been very good about waking up lately. I was getting up at 5ish and going to the gym before my ski trip. I had been very good at it too! Now, I can't get out of bed to save my life, much less make it to the gym. If I don't go in the morning...I don't go. Do you have President's day off? We have a workday this Friday and were suppose to have Monday off, but have to make up our lone snow day. I am going to work a 1/2 workday and go to the sugar plum and make some "real" money. AchtungBaby- Our condo was awesome at Snowshoe! We stayed at the Timbers on top of the mountain. Hot tub was the best part! I don't really care for skiing either. We never went out to eat (thank goodness since we spent close to $400 at the grocery store before we went up the mountain.) and never went to any clubs. I did go to a few bars during the day and grab a drink. Starbucks was nice too! On Wed. everyone wanted to ski after check out...but not me. I went to The boathouse, a bar on our slope, and did National Board work all day. We left a little after 4 and did not get back to NC until 2 AM. Its sucked. I woke up and had to be at school at 7:30! All and all, Snowshoe was nice. Alrighty, my book is complete now ;) I'll have to start replying more often to keep down on the lenght! Hope everyone has a great week/weekend! I'm off to VA...mom is having some test done next week. Keep her in your prayers if you would! |

We actually booked a reception site, so we've moved away form the Vegas idea. It sounded really good for a while.. but I have a large family, all of which I am extremely close to, so it would stink only begin able to take some people. I actually planned my parents re-wedding (they split up and blah blah blah..got back together.. long story!) for Vegas and we had a BLAST.. I loved it. It wasn't cheesey like I thought it would be. Quesiton for you then.. did you incorperate Delta Zeta at all? My Little is one of my bridesmaids, and I'm trying to figure out how to do something special for her, related to DZ. My colors are purple, yellow and accents of silver (the hubby wouldn't let me do pink&green..hahaha :rolleyes: ) I can't wait to get to know you and I'm glad you're here!! :) I'm wicked excited.. we have a snowday today.. man, I love New England ;) Though this sucks for my planning. We were already 2 days behind due to snowdays/delays/early release days.. grrrr! We have vacation next week and I'm supposed to start WW1 on march 7th (when we get back form va-ca) We're wrapping up the Reconstruction Era of the Civil War now:eek: I'm stressing a bit!
