breathesgelatin 08-18-2004 12:37 PM

Whoa... we're adding so many new people, particularly Floridians... good luck everyone!

aurora_borealis 08-18-2004 01:26 PM

My dear friend just went through recruitment...

Today is bid day! :D

WHY hasn't she called me yet, I am DYING!

I'll post where she went so breathesgelatin can add her to the list, and we should expect her on GC in the next few weeks.

P.S. Fraternity recruitment starts today, and my friend's brother is going through, and is a legacy, should be interesting.

Xylochick216 08-18-2004 01:55 PM

Good luck, Bayley! My little transferred to UGA, so maybe you met her :) Have a fabulous time!

No news is probably good news - your friend's probably partying with her new sisters! (*crosses fingers*)

Actually due to a scheduling issue with another activity she is involved with through school, she won't be able to attend bid day festivities. I believe all the groups here do a trip out of town. So she is bringing her parents to my place for the bid day cake I made her.

I am just so excited for her!!!

ETA: She is a new member of Kappa Alpha Theta :D

Good thing I made yellow cake with chocolate frosting!!

She is busy moving into the house, taking pictures, and enjoying her sisters, I'll see her tonight :D

hannahgirl 08-18-2004 07:04 PM

Congrats to her and Kappa Alpha Theta!!!!!

I'll be rushing at the University of California-Santa Cruz for Gamma Phi Beta, the only NPC on our campus.

hannahgirl 08-22-2004 12:59 AM

Hey....not to be picky but to go along with the past recruitment threads, can we start the GC PNM count for chapters since we have some that are already getting more than one??? ;)

You know... I wasn't going to do it this year because some people were bothered by it last year. Do y'all want me to do it? Drop me a PM or post to this thread if you feel strongly about it one way or another.

I wouldn't see why not? I liked that about past recruitment result threads :)

smiley21 08-22-2004 09:54 AM

i liked seeing the results too. i say yes to the number system

WhiteDaisy128 08-22-2004 10:32 AM

I like the talleying...I mean, it's not like we couldn't just count...it just makes it easier.

PS. breathesgelatin you rock my world.

Unregistered- 08-22-2004 11:29 AM

Nany nany boo boo...we got more than you did! Haha.

I, for one, would love to see it again because it was a positive example of the number of success stories of GCers and their loved ones.

It's not a matter of which GLO got the most PNMs this year on GC -- I don't see it as an online popularity contest. Clearly there are lives outside of GC and the number of PNMs who got bids to whatever GLO here is not reflective of how many PNMs got bids IRL.

Please do it again this year if you have the time. I know there are a lot who agree with me. :)

pinkyphimu 08-22-2004 11:47 AM

i liked it too.

KSUViolet06 08-22-2004 07:26 PM

I say yes to the PNM count too. It's not like your sorority sucks just b/c 2 GC girls pledged it- while 5 pledged XYZ. If you object to the PNM count for that reason, you spend WAY too much time on this site.

SoProud2BeAnAlphaXi 08-22-2004 07:28 PM

I'd say it means you don't spend ENOUGH time here. This is the most Panhellenic, even-minded place on the cyberplanet.

Tippiechick 08-22-2004 07:43 PM

BG, I definitely say YES to a count... It saves time having to look and see the count for myself one-by-one.

Thanks!

SeminoleMom's daughter is a tri delta!!! hip hip horray!!!!!:D

astroAPhi 08-22-2004 11:20 PM

I want a count too. It makes things so much easier to keep track of. After awhile all those colors make me feel like I'm on a bad trip!

breathesgelatin 08-23-2004 01:43 AM

lots of updates... I decided to post the list

ThetaPrincess24 08-23-2004 03:31 PM

Sweetheart591 went Theta at LSU!!!!!!!!! :)

daoine 08-23-2004 05:43 PM

To paraphrase carnation... (from another thread)

BabyBerry's Buddy at Bama went Phi Mu!!!

(I just had to repeat, 'cause it's Phi Mu and I like typing Bs. :) )

aopirose 08-23-2004 06:17 PM

My neighbor went Theta at LSU and she is so happy! Theta was her first choice all along.
