How did I not know that? Were you recent? Did you come to SLU to help a) found our chapter or b) help us recruit?

I pledged in fall 1998, so I was around when your chapter installed. I was going to help but I think I either had a test or it was the semester I took a financial leave to apply for grad school.

Jane P. Allison 02-05-2007 09:45 AM

Hello from Kentucky!

Hi!
I am an old Sigma Kappa. I graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1972. I am trying to locate my college roomate. Her name was Pam Hager. I believe her name is Pam Van Dyke. I heard from her about 20 years ago, and she was living in CA. If anyone knows her whereabouts I would love to know. All of my fondest memories of college have been with my sorority sisters. Did we ever have fun!!! I still keep in contact with one, Val Dando, from PA, but would love to here from some. In 1970 our college was small and sororities and fraternities were great. Everyone knew just about everyone, and we sure had fun at the dances, parties, etc. Well, sorry I talked so much, but this is my first time doing this. I am a middle school teacher and am enjoying a snow day in KY. Hope everyone has a great day!! Jane

Drolefille 02-05-2007 10:14 AM

Hello! Glad you at least get a snow day, we're just getting sub-zero temperatures. Your best bet for tracking down your roommate (I'm assuming she's a SK as well ) is to look her up on the Sister's Only side of the website. If you can't get on there let us know and someone can walk you through it or tell you who to ask.

_Lisa_ 02-05-2007 10:26 AM

Its nice to see another KY Sigma Kappa around here! :) I agree with drolefille, check out the Sisters Only section of the web site, a lot of alumnae keep their contact info there!

BetteDavisEyes 02-05-2007 02:46 PM

YAY! More sisters on board! Definitely try what D & Lisa said. If not, I'm from California. I can ask around to some friends from the alumna chapter I am a member of & ask around of other chapter. You just never know what you might turn up! :)

Hi Melody! Welcome to GC. As for the bid day activities, I'm sure we can help you out. There are lots of knowledgeable ladies on this board who have great ideas. I'll see if we can dig up some older threads for you on this topic.

Drolefille 06-07-2007 04:45 AM

Welcome!
Some of our bid day activities were a pool party at a member's (parents') house and a trip to the St. Louis Zoo (free admission).

SigKapChatter 09-09-2007 10:55 PM

Hey! I'm Shannon from WSU, Alpha Gamma chapter. I'm a junior both at school and in Sigma K. I was Pan Del my freshman-soph year. Just got back from study abroad so that's why I didn't try for another position. But we have some open positions so I'll let you know tomorrow if I got something. I'm studying global politics, spanish, and just started with russian. Anything else you wanna know?

Drolefille 09-10-2007 12:48 AM

Welcome SigKapCoug's pledge sister :D

I knew that WSU seemed familiar, but I can't keep schools and mascots straight unless they're fairly local!

MellySK 09-23-2007 12:04 PM

Hello everyone!

I'm a Delta Delta (Central Michigan) Alum (2002), living in Boston. I joined because i'm looking at ways to volunteer as an alum.

Drolefille 09-23-2007 12:09 PM

How many "mels" do we have now?

Welcome!! Have you contacted an alumna chapter in Boston?

Not sure if there is one, i've tried looking one up and can't find one. However, my old advisor now works for national and i've been in contact with her, so she's looking into stuff. I actually just found out she'll be in Boston for Founder's Day, so we'll be able to catch up, i'm so excited. :D

SoCalGirl 09-23-2007 01:24 PM

With MIT and the Delta chapter at BU, I'm sure there's an Alum chapter or twoo. :)

I was an advisor for MIT for my first year of law school. It got to be too much (law school had to take priority:p), but I'd love to do it again. At that time, none of us advisors knew of an alum chapter in the area (this was 4 years ago). I"m hoping something has changed.

I'll see what Heather (old advisor now with national) has to say - but i'm enjoying this community so far, it's so fun to find other greeks, and especially other sisters

I also get so excited to find other Sigma Kappas!

BetteDavisEyes 09-23-2007 01:57 PM

Hello & welcome Melly! I'm glad you're here. :)

Thanks! I thought the map just covered collegiate chapters, nothing like looking in the obvious places!

Drolefille 09-23-2007 04:45 PM

:D

I'd say it was age and experience, but I pledged in 2002 :p

Just so you know, it may take Kristin a little while to get back to you but she will reply. I'm from MA and will eventually be an active member of the Boston Alum Chapter. Both Delta and Zeta Zeta are looking for volunteers so contact Kristin and let her know you're interested and she'll give you the contact information. I was going to do it but I couldn't because of some medical crap going on.
