Vandy isn't FSU, that's for sure. A lot of the ladies looked too much like... ladies. A little bit too classy, to have that most desirable quality that makes the human Barbie doll.

After much deliberation with James, we have found one photo that is borderline. We're not all that sure, but this is the closest that Vandy seems to have to a Barbie chapter.

I never said it was voilating any damn rule, and I would rather say what I believe in and have people say they don't care. My opinion does count, as does my choice to say it. You may not like it, but I don't care. The point people keep missing is that this thread is front and center when one arrives at www.greekchat.com. How many people could not find chit chat when it moved? Those threads are less obvious. I also don't like the A&F thread either. I don't believe in objectifying men or women. And what business is it of yours what group I belong to? It won't ever affect you.

Oh and Colonist, please inform me on my insecurities? I am perfectly happy with who I am and don't need anonymous people on a website to give me self worth and value. Because I don't like either gender objectified, I am insecure? How pray tell? Oh and another thing. And if me voicing my opinion on the internet ruins your fun, you really need to redefine that in your life.

You honestly don't make any sense. Again you preach about PMs, but don't. You preach about disliking objectification, but only say it here. And it's my business because this is a GREEK site so thus your affiliation matters. You've said your opinion, now just shutup and go away. Thanks.

Let's just let it go. She obviously can't think clearly to posts these thoughts and is caught off-guard. If she doesn't realize how ridiculous she sounds right now, well I hope her parents love her or something.

My thoughts and posts are just fine. I don't use the same personal attacks and nasty name calling you do. I can voice my opinions and arguments and not have to result to those tactics. However you have a great idea. If I need to shut up and go away, put me on ignore. This isn't your site, my affiliation is none of your damn business, and there are plenty of other unaffiliated people here if that is such a concern of yours. You said let it go? Then stop replying to me and put me on ignore.

She had her own name? that's cool. Let's call the brunette ones, brownies! (Edited to add: they are Steffis according to 33girl so let's use proper terms boys).

Barbie's brunette friend was Steffi. However I had a brunette Miss America Barbie doll and since I couldn't go around calling her Miss America, I named her Robin.

Oh, and here's cool stoner P.J.

Just on a random note...

I wonder if these girls would be creeped out if they knew that they were being discussed by a bunch of (friendly) strangers. I think that I would. I guess that is what you bargin for when you post pictures on the internet though.

Also.. Does Barbie==Good? Personally, in some of these pictures, I can't tell one girl from the other. Im sure that if you knew their personalities, there is a complete difference, but it is evident that you are not analyzing these ladies on their wit and intellect.

Most superficial greek chat post.. ever.

And to make a Ruling on Barbie or Not-Barbie . . I kind of meant what your National Headquarters would refer to as their "Face Chapters" something I have heard National Sorority Officers talk about in reference to chapters with an extremely high percentage of well above average aesthetically attractive girls.

Even fraternities do it. There are face guys for rush. It is everywhere. In my line of work, most of the people are decent looking and the top people are usually even better looking because they make the deals.

James 02-27-2004 02:03 AM

Yeah we do it. We even look at Pledge classes that way . . .

ADPi Barbies and Steffis

Just to show that there are ADPi Barbies and Steffis:
East Carolina ADPi's

Clemson ADPi's

We do have a couple in my chapter too, but I wouldn't call us a Barbie chapter in general...though if you want to see Vandygirls a little more Barbie and a little less lady, you'll have to visit on the weekend!

DGqueen17 02-27-2004 02:22 AM

Barbie's best friend is Midge. And I'd be perfectly happy with being a Midge!

I think that this is kind of a cop-out, but your point is taken. It saddens me that a lot of internally lovely people are overlooked because they don't look like they just stepped out of a magazine, and I think that we should continue to question the validity of a society that continues and encourages such judgemental behavior. It's kind of a catch-22, though -- I mean, I'm not going to sit here and say that I've never judged anyone on appearance. I've definitely done it, and I've definitely done it during rush.

C'est la vie.

Hon, create a thread about fraternity men who are really smart, really athletic, really give back to the community. I will post there, ok? Of course it won't be a picture thread, but I will post. This thread started as a joke, it continues because people find it amusing and enjoy eye candy. We love girls. Many of the pictures that were posted were posted by girls. Being beautiful isn't bad and we're allowed to feel attracted to those we think are attractive. None of us is going around and saying she's fat, she's a pig, etc. We don't hurt anyone's feelings. Please understand that physicality is just one aspect of a person and is an aspect that can be discussed.

You do realize if they are verified as twins the barbie factor shoots up.

Guys we might have to come to a decision on who has the highest barbie factor in a photo...should we do it? And how will the twin factor play in?

No, that's Barbie's 1990s P.C. Hispanic counterpart that was named Teresa . . .

We have Barbie twins in my chapter (but unfortunately no real good pictures of them). How many points does that get me?

Now, these are my sisters so I automatically have love for them, but I think most of them either go to the same colorist, or they have a case of Nice n Easy #103A at that house. Seriosuly, look at the color on most of them, it's almost exactly the same! :)

P.S. Rusell, that pic is just nasty. We have a silly thread going with a bunch of cute sorority women and you put that in? BLECH!
