also, this thread is so super weird. also also, I'd most likely have sex with quite of few of you girls, if we were somehow magically transported into the same bar at the same night with the same mindset about handcuff usage, excepting that I have a girlfriend right now. huge boobs, no lie.

peace, i'm out like Rudey in the Rainbow District in the quad cities

Wow that quote pretty much ended all inklings of a conversation. Way to go Kath ;)

It saddens me to see this thread at the bottom of the page.

Ok here's a q: those of you who have someone on GC you'd consider having a relationship with....would you settle for it being almost solely online for a long period of time??? That's what I wonder about. I could NEVER handle having a relationship w/someone you can't touch/physically hold.

xok85xo 01-23-2004 03:04 PM

i would imagine it would be the same as any long distance relationship. you communicate online and over the phone, and when you see each other its great. it sucks to be apart, but i don't think that would be different from any LD relationship just because you met online.

Sister Havana 01-23-2004 04:15 PM

I don't know anyone well enough on here to have a relationship with them. Sorry! :D

Tom Earp 01-23-2004 05:28 PM

It just seems that I can never have a fantastic relationship on GC as Everyone is either Married or just to damn young!:(

But in my dreams, look out ladies!:D

Rudey 01-23-2004 05:32 PM

So I'm gerbiling Jules everyone. It's not really a relationship since there's no commitment, but she likes it, I like it, and you should respect that.

-Rudey
--Seriously it's impressive to see a girl take 14 gerbils and keep them in her for 5 days.

Rudey 01-23-2004 06:34 PM

Yeah it's hard to really say something after someone says they gerbil you. Try it at a bar next time. It's a real conversation stopper.

You have me there.

GeekyPenguin 01-23-2004 07:01 PM

I take back everything I ever said about not talking about the Quad Cities.

The gerbils are so much worse.

Didn't Richard Gere like the gerbils as well? Or was it somebody else?

you're correct, it was richard gere...

absolutuscchick 01-24-2004 04:01 PM

EWWWWWWWWWW!!!
What is with all of this gerbil talk? I think I'm going to be sick!

Peaches-n-Cream 01-24-2004 06:54 PM

The rumor about Richard Gere and the gerbil has been around for about 13 or 14 years. It's kind of funny to read about it here.

What are the Quad cities? Is it a Wisconsin thing?

From what I remember, the Quad Cities are four cities along the border of Iowa/Illinois....I can't remember all of them, but I think Moline and Rock Island are two of them (but don't quote me on this). My school's basketball conference championships used to be held in the Quad Cities, so there was always plans for a major road trip (I never got to go :( ), but they've since moved the championships to Fort Wayne, IN.

You are correct -- Moline and Rock Island are in Illinois, and Davenport and Bettendorf are in Iowa.

Thanks, valkyrie...I can always remember the Illinois ones, but when it comes to naming the two in Iowa, I always come up blank! :D

GeekyPenguin 01-24-2004 11:55 PM

I am glad that we cleared up that the Quad Cities aren't in Wisconsin. We claim many ridiculous things, but those places are not one of them. :p

We have already discussed your love for that. Is it really so deep that it must come up again and again?

I bet if I bought you cheese shaped like beer you'd be my sugar daddy.

The Mars Cheese Castle should be the topic at anytime possible.

That is all.

The classiest joint my trucker boyfriend ever took me to *sigh*

GeekyPenguin 01-25-2004 03:31 PM

I think we should have our next Chicago GC meetup at the Mars Cheese Castle. Maybe Rudey and Jules and Blaine can have a threesome on top of the giant cheese.

sugar and spice 01-25-2004 03:41 PM

You guys, this will be the hottest GC meetup ever.

Rudey 01-25-2004 03:52 PM

One of the cheese places has a giant rat on the top of the roof. What is that one called?

I dunno but that is where the group activities are taking place, for real....
And ladies, I don't know what you're talking about, but you are not backing out of this....it's the harem or nothing.

The work we have to do in this harem is just insane! It's starting to affect my school work.

I lost what the hell these weirdos were trying to say right after the gerbiling thing.

That statement is so ironic, lol.

Um well I would love to start a new one on topic, but I fear that no one else will come out of the woodwork and speak about their gc relationships or lack therof. It was something I was genuinely interested in, but no one's gonna derail this train unless I say they can. Which is why I wound up doing it myself, lol.

So last call, ladies and gents.....
Yes/No?
Would you have any rules/requirements in effect that you wouldn't use on people IRL?

Someone break out the black clothing....this thread is about to perish.

GeekyPenguin 01-26-2004 03:51 AM

I would demand a picture of them and a note from their dentist saying they don't have bad teeth.

Truthfully - I do not want an online relationship. I have enough trust/jealousy issues with guys when we are in the same zip code.

Munchkin03 01-26-2004 08:43 AM

No. I feel that I should be able to meet nice enough men in real life at my age and position in life without having to resort to the Internet. If I was older, lived in a smaller town, or was not around men who are similar to me in age or educational background, then maybe.

Mr. Munch and I are long-distance (until this fall), but ours was a no-distance relationship when it started.
