I went through Rush my freshman year Fall 1997, but I dropped out because I was overwhelmed with school and work. I didn't think I was going to ever rush again, but I became close with many of the AGDs over the next coming years.
So I went through Rush again, this time as a Junior during Spring 2000. I'm glad I went through as a Junior because I knew what I wanted in a sorority experience and in a sister. :) |

It's pretty unusual to join a house at my school in your junior year, and there are usually several sophomores that go through formal recruitment, but overall the majority of rushees are freshman... |
It's in my sig, first semester freshman year. Best decision ever!

I "pledged" in the Spring of 2003 as a Junior. There were only 7 in my alpha class.
|
I pledged freshman year second semester and it was the best time of my life!
|
Spring of 2004...my junior year. I'm glad I waited a while to pledge. It gave me plenty of time to observe all the sororities and choose the right one for me. However, I really wish I had joined a little sooner...maybe my sophmore year. It's sad that I just joined and now I'll be graduating in August.

oldest of the old
I pledged TKE fall '54. Pres. of pledge class of 27; we initiated
26 of them. Among was 1 WWII vet, 2 Korean vets, one 6'7" marine, etc. at the then Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University. Worked 100 hrs a month in art dept & had auto parts job for 10 hrs a week. drank too much but paid all my bills. won jitterbug contests, loved the Tri Sigs and Alpha Sigs...I'd give anything to be able to move back into the house, we housed 55 in our "mansion." I was all of 18 then... |
memories like that make me truly cherish all the moments I have in college, especially with my sisters and fellow Greeks!!! I can't wait to look back on all the fun, exhausting, exciting, thrilling times of my life!

I pledged and "crossed the burning sands" during my junior year at Appalachian State University as a member of the "Hardrock 10" during the spring semester of 1980. I'm currently the Asst. Chaplain of my graduate chapter and was selected the "Omega Man of the Year" this year. We'll have our Achievement Week Convocation on 19 February 2005 at St. Joseph's AME Church in Durham,NC. Even though it's been almost 25 years since I was initiated, it doesn't feel like it. I'm stilll young at heart
http://www.betaphi.com Que Psi Phi 'til the day I die! |
I pledged my freshman year 1989. I was the last pledge that ADPi had @UNA because. I didnt make my grades and I was initiated late.
The next "pledge class" were/was called ALPHA's. So, that was kind of cool to get the last "MODEL PLEDGE" plaque. |
Junior
Fall 04 |
I was actually a senior when I pledged in Fall 03. Really late I know, but because of the people I was friends with up until that point I was completely anti-greek until the semester before. I ended up changing my major the following semester though, so I'm going to be active for two years instead of just one. Sometimes I wish I would have pledged earlier, because I absolutely love being greek, but I'm glad I didn't because I'm not sure my experience would have been the same or if I would have ended up in the same place and I wouldn't change being a Phi Sig for anything :)
