Your interfering is not going to help her. She has to stand up for herself. Why would she stand up for herself if she has you to rush in playing Captain Save'em?

One of my messageboard peeves is when a poster gets everything off their chest and then asks that any further replies be taken to PM. I don't roll like that. It's nothing personal, but if you wanted to take it to PM, you should have PM'd me, not spill your guts for the world to see and ask for a private 'rebuttal.'

I really think my relationship with my brother is irrelevant. Hey, maybe your family is different, mine does not work that way. Everyone's family operates differently. But I share this because I saw it that way and I had to rationalized it that way. And it still takes a lot of rationalization for me to function in my environment.

Look, I can keep telling you that I am not in the business of my brother's marriage--or divorce for that matter (another subject), but you will choose to believe what you want. Since you don't know me, and I don't really know you, then who cares? Really?

And really, I fail to share your level of thinking. I have been where you are and done all that and it is coming from a spiritual standpoint of operating in pain. the comments you made to me are not taking in vain, because I operate in the divine. I find your comments only dealing with absolutes. I know from several of my failed relationships with men, I couldn't deal with absolutes...

And I, too am married to a wonderful man of African descent.

So really, what purview do you have if no one can voice their opinion on a public message board only to have quite puerile reponses in this particular discussion?

Either we have a successful pluralistic discussion or we can allow this discussion to degenerate into the sublime. I'm about transcendance--moving beyond that issue to help people... Maybe I am not understanding where you are coming from?

And I could go on and on, that's why if you have any further suggestions, comments or questions, then hey, PM me or not, I've got plenty other things to do...

Whereas, you can continue with this topic for lockdown, because I know my Soror Mods also agree with me...

You're right. I don't know you. I only know what you post, and in so many words you posted that you interfered with your brother's marriage, because you didn't like the way he was treating his wife. In so many words, you also said that she doesn't know how to handle him, because she is of a different culture. I didn't make that stuff up. You posted it.

I am not operating in pain. I am with the man I want to be with, which is the same man that I've loved for 13 years, 7 of them as his wife. We share the same viewpoints in this matter, and neither of us are coming from a place of pain. If you were in operating in pain, then that's you. I'm glad you overcame it.

There is nothing wrong with the way this discussion is going, unless I am expected to pretend that I don't have views. Trust me, when I tell you that this discussin has been a whole lot milder than it could be.

Back to that PM....all I ask is if you want to take something to PM, there is nothing stopping you from PMing me. You do not have to write a dissertation and conclude with a request for further discussion in PM. You could have sent me a PM in the first place.

Mods, shmods. I don't care. I have not been rude or out of pocket. Whether they agree with you or not is of no concern to me. My views are MY views. If nobody on this whole board agreed with me, I would still speak my piece. God knows I hope your bringing up Mods wasn't a veiled threat.

If you all were sticking to the LATEST topic of the thread, we wouldn't know xyz about anyone, their family, your views, his views, etc. etc. etc.

ALL I ASKED FOR WERE NAMES OF CELEBS OR FOLKS YOU KNEW WHO WERE NOT OF YOUR RACE THAT YOU WOULD DATE!

Either you post what was asked for or you take it to PM, email, UPS, USPS or whatever...

I don't think speaking on domestic violence is interference in any relationship.

Also, I would rather have my brother pissed off with me than be in prison because he let his anger out of control on his wife... The dynamic of our relationship is that I can still kick his ass on "general principals" and besides, I am a better shot than he is, unless my parents get to him first...

As far as his wife goes, that is how they do it in SoCal. That is the way it works out there... Since I don't live in SoCal anymore, I am not around to see the silliness and have to hear the heresay. My brother doesn't speak to me about it anyways because your right, it is NOT my business. And it becomes my business when I know that my brother is hurt and has to be incarcerated because he could not manage his emotions toward women--due to misogyny and arrogance.

So essentially, I am letting the chips fall where they land. And my brother has chosen divorce. So much for maintenence of the family.

Besides, like I said, I said what I had to say before he got married and endured his psychotic inane wedding but now everyone on my side is wondering why (including his soon to be ex-wife and him) their relationship failed??? I'm like, well...
