So this morning my mom took our cat, Daniel, to the vet. He's been in my family since I was 7 years old...16 years!!!! They had to put him to sleep this morning. It's a sad day at my house.....

On a happier note though, I talked to one of our sisters last night, and she is engaged to be married March 5, 2005!!!!!! Yay!!

School starts on Aug 23, but since I have Kindergarten, I only starting testing then. On Sept 1-2 we have staggered entry, so I will not have my whole class together until after Labor Day. Thank God!! I need the extra time to get my stuff together!! When do you start?

I am interviewing for a design job near my house on Thurs. I came in today for a meet and greet and was asked back to showcase some of my design boards and portfolio. I am excited, but nervous. I was too late to get into grad school for the fall so I am trying to find a good job in my field until I can get into grad school for something else. Man, I still dont know what I want to be when I grow up. I told my hubby tonight, I pray I figure it out before we have kids.

PS: Let me tell you a little something about Graduate School- if you don't need it to further your career in the design world (or any field) and unless you are doing it to take up time while jobs are slim-- dont do it! Right now the jobs are so tight most places do not care if you are king of the world less having a masters degree!

But if I remember correctly you said you needed it to further in your career!

I don't want to hear a thing about y'all who are starting school in a few weeks!!!;) I started with 18 1st graders yesterday (Aug 16). It is year 7 for me so I have done this a few times before! It will get easier as you go. Your first year will be your most difficult, but I promise you after that it will get much better! Best of luck, sisters!

Look at it this way-- if they dont get the book the administration cannot complain if you get behind!! And about your room-- if they haven't cleaned it yet-- I would tell them to get out of the way and do it myself! :D

Oh, emleepc, I just saw this, and I am so sorry I haven't offered my sympathy before! It is so hard to lose a pet, and I certainly feel your pain.

Thanks, honey. Last night my mom washing washing out the food and water bowls, and cleaning up where the litter box was. Soon we will wash all the balnkets and stuff where massive amounts of white cat hair have made their home......sad, but Daniel was sick, very sick, so it's kinda a good thing....

What a way to think on the positive side. Now he is no longer suffering.
Whenever you and your mom are ready.... think of the millions of kittens waiting to be adopted at animal shelters everywhere.

I would like to maybe get another cat, and we actually talked about it. But I think she would rather wait awhile before she gets another one. But who knows? Maybe someday.....

Ok, this seems like the thread to put this in... But I am very excited, so I just want to tell everyone...

The program that I applied to for grad school has said that I have made it passed the admissions committee... So now the school just needs to officially say I am in... But the program says they want me... So I am in... just not officially... And this is the program that I want to be in tons and tons...
