I had a picture of Shannon after the Denver Broncos won one of their Super Bowl championships, and Shannon was wearing a plastic horse helmet.

But Shannon wasn't the only Bronco who looked rather horsey. John Elway, the QB, straight up looked like Mr. Ed.:p

Has anyone heard about this beef between Blu and Beyonce?


PORN star turned pop star Blu Cantrell has launched a bitter attack on chart rival Beyonc Knowles, claiming the Destiny's Child star is copying her successful style.

Until Sunday, Blu was No.1 with her song Breathe, which spent four weeks at the top of the charts before being knocked off the top spot by the Norman Cook remix of Elton John's Are You Ready For Love.

Now the new R&B star on the block says Beyonc has listened to her smash single in order to come up with a hit of her own.

Speaking exclusively to Scotland's No.1 showbiz column, Blu -real name Tiffany Cobb -moaned: ``Beyonce is talented and beautiful and I'm a fan, but she has a song out which is very similar to mine.

``She uses words which are in the hook of my song and if she is that talented, she shouldn't have to copy someone else.

``Her song Baby Boy has the exact word Breathe in the hook. She's ripping me off, but there is no animosity because I'm a very positive person. However, I'm a little disappointedbecauseshe is established and didn't have to do that. Butshewon't get away with plagiarising me, because I'm a No.1 artist.''

Blu is also furious after hearing that Beyonc has collaborated with her exboyfriend Sean Paul, who also features on Breathe.

The 28-year old NewYorker believes Beyonc is getting her own back on Blu, who was previously linked with Beyonc's ex Jay Z. :eek:

Blu says: ``Now she is doing a song with Sean Paul because I'm linked with Sean Paul, so I don't know what her intentions are.

``I'm not tit-for-tat like that. I don't waste my time sitting around trying to think about what Beyonc's thinking.''

Blu seems to think Beyonce is overrated and claims the real R&B star is Sean `Puffy' Combs, who guided Blu and helped her get session work for the likes of Faith Evans.

Blu explains: ``The really talented people in music are the likes of Puffy, who I admire. He has always been there for me and he's the one guy who'd do something like take a helicopter to the Hamptons to surprise me during my album release party. That was fun. He's a great guy that I look up to.

“Just for the record I have a major crush on Jay-Z. I have a really big crush on him, I’ll tell you that much,” admitted the bi-racial Blu. “He’s such honey. He’s just a doll baby. I don’t care who he is dating -- I’ve always had a crush on him.”

When asked about the rumors that she and Jay-Z already had a sexual relationship, the Blu offered, “No, I didn’t. All I know is that we’ve hung out a couple of times and that we’re friends and that’s it. People saw us in public and just assumed.” Blu does recognize that Beyonce and Jay-Z’s romance seems solid.

Rapper with Murder Inc. label killed on Queens street

A little-known rapper with Murder Inc. records died early Friday after being shot on a Queens street, police said.
D.O. Cannon, 26, whose real name was Gerard Fields, was shot twice in the chest and once in the leg at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the Hollis section. He was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he died shortly after midnight.

No arrests were made.

The Murder Inc. Web site says Fields “was raised and struggled in the streets of poverty” after losing his mother at age 11.

The hip hop label is home to multiplatinum artists Ashanti and Ja Rule. A call to its Manhattan headquarters was not immediately returned.

Okay about Blu Cantrell...I really don't think she said those things about Beyonce. I have the DVD and she was actually very complimentary of Beyonce and also about her relationship with Jay Z (although she did say that she had a huge crush on him). Mostly it was Wendy Willimas trying to make her say something negative about Beyonce but she never really did.

That article about Blu saying whatever about Sean Paul just seems shady. First of all, if I am not mistaken, Beyonce never even says Breathe in the hook to Baby Boy. Second of all, Blu Cantrell just doesn't really say negative things about people in interviews. She makes it a point to tell people that she is not going to beef with anyone.

The hook to Baby Boy and the hook to Breath are like complete opposites.

Baby Boy: Baby boy you stay on my mind, fulfill my fantasies, I think about you all the time, I see you in my dreams. . .

Breathe: Maybe we need some time alone, we need to let it breathe.

Maybe Blu has a remix when the words are the same?? :confused: At any rate, the two songs are about wanting someone (Baby Boy) and needing space in a relationship (Breathe). I don't know :confused:

(9/5/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Rapper N.O.R.E., formerly Noreaga of Capone-N-Noreaga, was arrested on Wednesday (September 3) and charged with possession of marijuana after police pulled over the rapper's Humvee according to New York's Daily News.


N.O.R.E. as well as four other men, Khalid Daniels, Percy Chapman, Andre Locus, and Martin Moore, were arrested when police pulled over the rapper's Humvee on 15th Street in Manhattan after receiving reports that someone brandishing a firearm was driving a similar vehicle. No weapons were found during the search of the vehicle.


In related news, Capone-N-Noreaga are currently in the recording studio working on the duo's third album. The duo recently leaked a song, "Westside Highway," to urban radio.

I happened to hear this while getting out of the car this morning, but I wanted to know if anyone else had the full story.

On a local morning show here, they were saying that evidently at a recent awards show Sean Paul didn't perform with Beyonce' because Jay-Z had forbidden it. I was like WTF? :confused:

9/5/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Jay-Z wanted to be the only performer to join Beyonce on stage during her performance last Thursday (August 28) at the 2003 MTV Video Awards, according to the Jamaica Observer.


Jeremy Harding, Sean Paul's manager, told the paper, "We were told through the president of Atlantic Records, Craig Kallman, that Jay-Z wanted to be the only guest artist to perform with Beyonce at the awards show. Jay-Z did not want Sean Paul on stage with her and he made it clear."


Beyonce performed a two song medley during her VMA performance which included "Baby Boy" her duet with Sean Paul and "Crazy In Love" her duet with Jay-Z. But during her performance of "Baby Boy," Paul's pre-recorded vocals were played while during "Crazy In Love" Jay-Z joined her on stage.


Paul was present at the VMAs as he performed during the pre-show concert and presented an award. Harding attempted to make sense of the situation, "I don't know whether it was jealously (Jay-Z and Beyonce are dating) or a professional threat. But it is a form of hypocrisy as hip-hop views dancehall as the poor little cousin and now it feels threatened because it is right up there in their league. Paul has sold some three million records internationally, two in the US and the rest in other parts of the world. Now all of a sudden there is a clamp down."


Harding also said that Paul was restricted from contact with Beyonce while shooting the video for "Baby Boy." The two are seldom in the same shot.


Calls to Jay-Z's publicists at Roc-A-Fella Records were not returned at press time.

In related news, Beyonce will perform and sit down for an interview on the season premiere of the Oprah Winfrey Show on September 15 on ABC. The Destiny's Child singer's latest film, the Fighting Temptations with Cuba Gooding, Jr., opens in theaters nationwide on September 19.

50 Cent and Lil' Kim are beefing because Kim would not allow 50 to re-release his CD with "Magic Stick". She felt it would drag down her CD sales. Since she will not allow him to do this, he will not perform the song live with her (Gina's note: this explains the BET awards). 50 might redo the song with Trina and put it on his next CD.
