Can you give your remaining houses some kind of code names like other PNM's have done? It helps us follow along.

I'm not going to do descriptions at all so I'm not going to do code names. :)

I've decided to attend all of the parties tomorrow. Originally I was going to have my pi chi get me out of #4 but I decided to give them a chance, see if I belong there or not. But I really want #1 and #2.

Just so everyone doesn't go nuts going back and forth to figure out the 4 remaining houses (like I did :D) they are ADPi, DG, KD and Phi Mu.

I had fun last night at all 4 houses, but in 2 of them, I realized that even though they are nice, I may not be a great fit with them. I still completely heart my #1 and I really hope they love me too. Tonight I find out where I'm going for 2nd Rds since I haven't recieved a phone call telling me I have no invites. I can't wait for 6:00 pm to come!

Bad news...

I got one invite today.. from the sorority I dont want to join.
I've decided to drop out of recruitment. I've been having second thoughts and I'm thinking, maybe all of this is not for me. I may check out one of the social/service groups on 9/21, I may do AI, but I'm okay

Sweetheart!!! I understand your decision, but I also am going to personally encourage you to give that one sorority one last shot. You never know how things sometimes change. They obviously see something in you or they wouldn't invited you back!

I sorry things didnt work out. I truly believe that everyone has their place in campus and maybe yours is a service sorority or even being independent. Whatever happens, just remember that not being in a sorority isnt the end of the world and there are tons of other groups out there. Most of all, remember to ENJOY your college experience!!!

First off, I'm glad to hear the words "I'm okay". I know this is a tough thing to handle, and I want to wish you the best of luck in finding the organization that you fit well with. Please keep us updated...we're all here for you!

I can't say it any better than 33girl. If you didn't like your last choice, you probably have your reasons, and there are just SO many other great opportunities at Penn State, good on you for seizing them while you're there.

I prayed last night about rush and I prayed that if the Lord did not want me to join any of the sororities I that I liked last round that I would get cut from all of them. I liked my top 3, but I seriously don't think I would have been completely happy in any of them. Unlike the other junior rushees, I've been up here before, I have a support network already, being in a sorority would have been icing on the cake. So now, I'm going to check into Gamma Sig, 2 of the locals and see what they are about. Maybe I'll join, maybe I won't, but I'm still going to be in CCC, Blue and White society and involved in Thon

Kendra, I have been admiring your signature since you've been beginning to post. Obviously, your prayer has been answered, and that's what's important - what's best for Kendra. I'm sure you know that COB is always an option, but I won't harp on that right now.

I will, however, hope that you keep posting throughout GreekChat! Your posts are fun and thoughtful, and I know that I would surely miss you if you "disappeared".

I went to an Alpha Phi Omega rush meeting today and I LOVED IT!!! I felt more comfortable there than in all of the rush parties I went to during rush. I think I may have found my niche! I plan to check out local I'm interested in, but I think I'll pledge APO, see how it is! I just saw the flyer for their rush 20 mins before the meeting started and after heading over there and meeting the brothers, I felt like I was at home. My heart is in philantrophy and since APO is mainly philantrophy, I think this is the best place for me. :D :D

Just a side note, I was visiting some friends at Penn State last year during thon weekend and I was impressed by what a big deal it was and how much money was raised. Kudos to you for getting involved in such an activity!

I am really interested in your thread because I think we came into the rush experience from a similar place, socially and spiritually. I also prayed about rush because part of me was really not sure if Greek Life (as it was on my particular campus) was the right fit for me. But I was definitely getting caught up in the excitement of recruitment, and I knew that I would eagerly accept a bid if one was offered. Now, I'm thankful that things worked out as they did. After I was dropped from rush, I joined a local choir, and that was how I made friends with the pastor who eventually performed my wedding ceremony. I also became really involved in another campus organization where I met my husband. I probably would not have become so close with my Cory if I had devoted my free time to a sorority. There is a plan, my friend!

Kendra - I know that when I was in APO in college I met some Penn State brothers at a regional conference. Their chapter is nothing short of awesome. Let us know how things turn out!!
