I can remember those!! I was still lurking then - I forgot the "really important" thread that made me register so I could respond!

I remember what a certain GCer was like before he found the moonshine.

KABillyMac 06-02-2005 11:17 PM

Followers, thats it I was trying to remember that in the other thread. Man lets call em by name again, and see if they call some folks on me again, boy that was good fun. I'll never forget how mad I was the day I got home and had that email from the big wigs in Virginia telling me to tone it down, when I moved off my old street the girl I date now said, "How did you get that big hole behind your computer desk?" My gracious reply, "I kicked my monitor into it." God I was mad that day......

Dood. Cause its a small world (and there was a thread about this last summer that got deleted cause the loons came on and started it all up again) I met baby V's old college roomate. It was outta control to be able to share victim harassment stories with a real live person. No one else could understand what we were talking about. I'll PM you some details. its some funny shit. turns out we were all in the right anyway. That is, if you still remember how to use PM's old man.

BTW, the shine is some GOOD SHIT. I was in Johnson City, TN about 361* times last year and the year before and tried that stuff. Lesson learned: dont eat the peach.

*Nod to my boy Kitso.

The "minister" has a website now. It saddens me to see hatred in the name of religion.

They ususally put fruit (a peach, grapes, etc) in the jar of shine to give it a little flavor, because its not aged and has a really harsh flavor. The fruit is really potent and will mess you up in a hurry. I like the shine, but it makes me a mean drunk.

MaMaBuddha 06-04-2005 08:39 AM

the year was 1999...
i was under a different name.

Lady Pi Phi 06-04-2005 05:41 PM

I registered April 3, 2002. Just shortly after I was initiated.

I don't know if I would be considered old school now. I wasn't around for the V's or the Alf debate. I have seen Fred hatchett's post every now and then.

Tom Earp 06-04-2005 06:20 PM

Dont remember when I came on board. Guess it will come up on this post. Dont even remember how I found out about GC!

I have ment so many Neat GCers, and miss so many who were here and left.

I am in hopes that I will meet face to face with many more in the future.:)

But, the trials and tribulations over the years have been troublesome and Fantastic at the same time.

For this reason, I give thanks for meeting so many Great People from all over even though it is in Cyber!

Thank You All!

Now I see, 2000! Damn, I guess I am still a Newbie! Well to some of You Oldsters!

blech. I only tried shine once, and thought I'd die. The next morning, I was pretty sure I did.

KSUViolet06 09-19-2005 09:12 PM

I came to GC as a college freshman. It was over winter break of 2003. I posted here and there but not much til I decided to do open recruitment for Tri Sigma the following year in April. That's when I got active. I've been on for 3 years in January. I don't remember most of what you guys are talking about. Although I didn't miss out on SHIM, SKEPi, intimidating hotness, and the Rush @ UCSC thread.

2. You were part of the Alf debate
3. You got send to hell by the glorious Rev. Hatchet
4. You were cursed by the team of mom and daughter from Texas

I remember when the Chit Chat thread was created. I was tickledpink back then. I came right after Hatchett was banned I think, I remember seeing a reference to him and asking what the heck happened. I also remember when "perps" were alot smarter it seemed. They would last for more than a week, then someone would research them, and pow - it was GC headline news. Nowadays, a perp does/ posts something stupid and are busted within the 1st day. I also remember the SH80/ er controversies.

Dionysus 09-20-2005 08:14 AM

I remember when GC was uber politically correct. Someone said her friend was a Zeta but could not remember which org. People told her that it was possible that she was either a Zeta Tau Alpha or Zeta Phi Beta. Then, I asked "was she chocolate or vanilla?". Everyone got so mad at me. :(

Well, I thought that was an important question! It's rare to see a white ZPhiB or black ZTA.

cashmoney 09-20-2005 11:01 AM

This thread makes me miss people...

It's about time to redefine GC Old School...

Starting off with:

1. You remember the Original Random Thread getting closed.
2. You can list at least 3 names cashmoney was banned under.
3. You've made your share of SKEPi jokes.

Oh my. I remember the SKEPi thing, but I was a lurker back then. Don't remember the other two though.

*rushes off to look through old threads* :p

Looks like the term was coined in this post: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...46&postcount=7

LOL.

ETA: Actually, that's not the post that coined the term though it does explain them, I found this post from back in '00: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...37&postcount=1

cutiepatootie 12-28-2007 06:21 PM

Im recalling the good ole days back in the early 2000s....i remember all that in my lurking days befored i committed to finding out about AI officially on here. I also recall when this board use to be greeksource.com....the good ole days!

Leslie Anne 12-28-2007 07:26 PM

I guess I'm old school.

How about:

A certain poster from early in this thread being outed as a perp after years of fooling everyone.
Damasa's car accident and recovery period.
"Earpman Down"
Either joining Gamma Chi committees or trying to destroy Gamma Chi.
Knowing the full name behind OTW.

ETA: Aha! I'm coming up on 7 years on GC and I didn't even realize it until after I posted. Yep, seven years of being not well-liked on GC....and proud of it! :D

AlphaFrog 12-28-2007 07:35 PM

There are probably about 20 of us, but who else remembers when each org had their own chat room, and the website of each org was listed?;)

I remember "UFPike" and another version of that one. Then there was "Sverige"(sp?) and of course "Cashmoney".

And I do remember the full name behind OTW!

Yes! I remember that. No one ever used the chat rooms. You'd go in there and there would be a whole bunch of people you didn't know speeking Greek to eachother. Very bizarre.

oh teenie wahini...??
Am I at least close?

epchick 12-28-2007 07:48 PM

I don't know how 'old school' these are but...

1. If you involved in the whole "Beauty Pageant" naming thread & you posted pictures of crowns, dresses etc, to go along with your new name.
2. Brandi Shae (was it Rae?) & lil Princeton
3. The bajillion threads everyone posted bashing "she who shall not be named" lol

I don't think i'm 'old school' but i do remember the thread about sorority pants & gamma chi but i dont know if those were "bumps" or when the actual debates were going on.

The Alpha Gams used their chat room regularly. I miss that.

Yes, and Teeny Wahine came from the labels on the Roxy clothing line which is made for little girls (hence "teeny wahine"). And I remember that wahine is Hawaiian for female surfer, from one of my travels.

Let's not forgot the "god, this is off color thread". :D

SoCalGirl 12-28-2007 10:29 PM

Doubt it. It was a fad at the time (early 00's) and I recall GDI's wearing them
