I guess y'all don't have sleeping problems anymore... congrats

ladyj39 04-02-2004 04:48 AM

I do...it seems that I can't go to sleep before 1am these days... It's 12:30am here in California and I have to be up for work at 6am. :(

Sistermadly 04-02-2004 04:59 AM

I'm here - two more weeks to graduation and I'm paying for all the slacking off I did this term.

Jill1228 04-02-2004 05:38 AM

I'm here...only because I just got home from work and then hanging out with a coworker (we close at 11pm)

AGDee 03-27-2005 03:15 AM

Time to bump this one. I have totally screwed up my sleep patterns this weekend. I didn't get enough sleep all week at work so I fell asleep early Friday evening. I woke up and watched TV until late, but had to get up to go to work today. I worked from 8:50 am until 2:07 pm (yes, I'm keeping track!) and then came home and took a nap. I got up at 5 pm because some telemarketer called. I ran errands and picked up my kids from their dad's house. Now I can't sleep. Tomorrow they are going to wake up early since the Easter Bunny is coming. Then it's church, then to my mom's house. I drop them back off with their dad at around 7:30 pm. When am I going to do laundry? I'm going to be soooo tired tomorrow! EEEK!

cashmoney 04-25-2005 07:20 AM

If you can't sleep, try running at 5:00am. By 6:30am you feel amazing.

PhiPsiRuss 05-02-2005 03:02 AM

GRRRRRRR!!!

Jill1228 05-02-2005 04:10 AM

Just got home from work a little less than an hour ago. It takes me a couple of hours to unwind when I get home from work. Working nights all this week

AOX81 05-02-2005 06:21 AM

I have been up all night long...now I have to go to work. :(

aggieAXO 05-02-2005 11:18 AM

I have worked nights for the last 8 years. I work Mon/Tues overnights then try to get back on a daytime schedule on Thursday-not easy to do. I now take ambien to help me sleep on Wed. night, which has helped, though sometimes I still feel groggy on Thursday.

I also have very active dreams and feel like even when I do sleep I actually am still awake in my "other" life. I wish there was a way I could stop dreaming.

AOX81 10-21-2005 02:29 PM

I don't think I went to sleep at all last night...I am sooo tired right now. :(

ZTAMich 10-24-2005 04:37 AM

This "waking up every work day around 4am, head full of random thoughts so I can't fall back asleep" problem has got to stop...

I am the same way with my dreams. My bf actually wakes me up in the middle of some of them because I get afraid during/of my dreams. I have the huge problem of my mind racing about useless thoughts (how did they invent this? why do they do things a re certain way? nothing important, just random junk!)

I took ambien several years ago for a while. It worked great (until I developed a tolerance for it.) I can tell you from experience with Ambien:
-go to bed AS SOON AS YOU TAKE IT! (within minutes it starts to work, and you will have conversations or do things that you have no memories of the next day!)

-Make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep. That may be why you feel groggy the next morning. I always felt that way if I tried to wake up before I got "enough" sleep. That should get better once your body gets "used to" taking the medicine.

I hope these things help!!!!

Meredith

I am hoping that you get some sleep! Please PM me, maybe I can help you with some ideas that may help.

If this is a long-standing issue, it is probably time to go to the doctors. Find out if there is a medical reason for you not sleeping. Or help you out TEMPORARILY to get back on track with your sleep schedule!

ZetaPhi708 10-24-2005 11:18 PM

lately it has been my dreams that wake me up. I sleep about 5 hours then get woke up by a bad dream. Then I get back to sleep about 30 minutes later; 2 hours after that another dream then I can't get back to sleep at all. Don't wanna take meds yet.

This has been going on for a good 15 years now. :(

I know what you are going through. My insomnia problems started fifteen years ago with my knee injury. Not a short-term thing that I (or you) have suffered through.

My heart goes out to you!

AOX81 10-27-2005 03:48 PM

I don't think I'll have to worry about sleeping this weekend!

ZTABullwinkle 11-03-2005 07:08 AM

BUMP!

As you can tell, I have started my all-night marathons with no sleep. It is surprising considering that besides the xanax I have for sleep, I have pain medication for my friggin "good" knee I hurt when my bad knee gave out three weeks ago.

UGH!!! Gotta get this fixed! Starting to intefere with school again!

AOX81 - How are you doing? Haven't heard anything since you said you should sleep this weekend. I hope that means you have gotten some sleep!!!

AOX81 11-03-2005 03:54 PM

I was out in Vegas over the weekend so I didn't plan on getting much sleep anyway.

I haven't been able to sleep much since I got home. :( I hurt my shoulder last Wednesday and that's just adding to my sleepless nights. I went to the doctor today and he gave me some painkillers...hopefully that will knock my ass out!

_Opi_ 11-03-2005 04:16 PM

Yup..Lately, I've been going to sleep around 3-4am for no reason at all.

The other night, I drank some tea, and that knocked me out.

AOX81 11-03-2005 10:35 PM

AOX81 is getting very sleepy :)

AOX81 11-04-2005 06:48 PM

I actually ended up sleeping pretty well last night. :)

Better living through drugs. :)

Tom-

I do just that, and many other things to help me sleep at night. Unfortunately, I am not like you, my bf or even my dog...head hits the pillow and BAM asleep. So yes, I am up at all hours (obviously) watching infomercials and worthless TV. Hopefully, settling down by 4 or 5 am for a few hours of sleep.

Believe me, if there was an easier solution to this problem I would love to have it. But there isn't. So, please understand....not everyone has that magical ability to just fall asleep.....but we can still wish that something will do just that.

Off my soapbox, and back to my infomercials.

Meredith

AOX81 -> I hope that you are still sleeping better!

God, what I wouldnt give to be able to do that.

My problem is that my natural circadian rhythm clock runs about 27/28 hours. Each night I am up a little later and later and later.

I dont consume an ounce of caffiene past 3PM and it still hasnt changed. I never go to bed till about 4AM.

Senusret I 11-05-2005 06:30 AM

I'm not an insomniac. I just get up too damn early. :(

_Opi_ 12-07-2005 02:30 AM

yeah...tonight is not my night.

When I have too much to think about..can't get to sleep. It's a good thing that I don't have work until 1pm tomorrow.

Buttonz 12-11-2005 03:56 AM

It's 2:56 AM....why am I not sleeping?

winnieb 12-11-2005 04:16 AM

can't sleep tonight. i even took a sleeping pill and am still awake. i took this time to write a nasty letter to my astranged father and told him what i think! if i am not totally exhausted tomorrow and have the guts i will drive over and deliver the letter!!

lifesaver 12-11-2005 06:02 AM

Went to the bar, had a few drinks, and then made a snack (eggs and hash browns). Had a brother call me up all in tears because his perpetual emotionally abusive gf (who is still married to her husband) yelled at him and there was drama. So I am up waiting for him to call back, cause he will... If I go to bed, then he'll wake me up (but I am only staying up for an hour then I am off to bed and shutting the phone off). I dont get why he is with her.... Anyway..... Am watching the Killing Fields. Cant sleep during that either. Am hoping to go to church in the am, but will probably sleep through it.

I am betting that most of us arent insomnicacs, we just run a longer circadian rythim than everyone else. I often dont go to bed till 5AM, but want to sleep till noon. That dosent make me an insomniac, that just means my sleep pattern runs later than everyone else around here (cant tell you how many 'missed' client calls I get between 8 and 11 am. Whatever (its a running joke among some of them in the know about how you cant reach me before noon, lol.) whatever, I run my company how I do, lol.

Buttonz 12-18-2005 01:53 AM

I'm still up...with nothing to do...

_Opi_ 12-18-2005 02:51 AM

around this time every semester..I keep sleeping later than usual. Now my bedtime is like 3:30am.

2 more hours to go...

:(

DolphinChicaDDD 02-05-2006 04:53 AM

*bump*

It is 3:50ish. And I can't sleep. Instead I'm watching The Terminal.

Dionysus 02-05-2006 05:53 AM

Checking in

I cannot sleep (anymore). So I:

*Viewed tons of myspaces, facebooks, and personal websites
*Finally re-installed my yahoo and MSN messengers

What's worse, I have to get up in 3-4 from now.

Buenos noches bitches!
