I *tried* to do some sleuthing, to figure out which group could POSSIBLY be Gryffindor...

I narrowed it down a little bit -- the Dallas Panhellenic has 20 representatives out of the 26 NPC orgs (assuming the site is up to date) -- which makes it look like Gryffindor could be almost anything. I'm still hoping for a Phi Mu Gryffindor, but I could be biased. :)

Go Lizz go!

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-27-2003 11:04 AM

I've seen none of the Harry Potter movies, nor have I read any of the books and I'm clueless......

Ditto to this...I think tinydancer is toying with us. :p

And OT, but Melanie, I had a dream about you last night - it was so weird. I read my Crescent before I went to bed and then I was thinking about HCB stuff, and you came out to Wisconsin to help us...I think I need to lay off the Gamma Phi before bedtime. ;)

Dreaming about ME, that's scary........

Is it the new one? I am not very patiently waiting for this summer one to come out and I always seem to get it later than other people.

No it's still the Spring one. Let me know when you get your summer one so I can go borrow it from somebody. :D I am really excited for the new one - I wish we got Crescents every month!

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-27-2003 11:59 AM

Oh, I will. I'm featured in it. :D

You're in every Crescent...GRR on you. :D We have started sending in more pictures, so hopefully we'll get in there soon. Two of our alums are getting married this summer (one just did, one in September) and both had mostly Gamma Phis for bridesmaids, so we are going to send in pictures galore for that.

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-27-2003 12:09 PM

lol. You just need to be diligent in sending stuff in. Before the spring one we hadn't been in one in a while.

Not that way actually. Just me. They are profiling "adventurist Gamma Phi's" and I scuba dive.

LoL .. I tried doing that too which didn't help too much! ;) :D :p :)

tinydancer 06-27-2003 12:43 PM

LOL at you folks trying to figure it out. Really, it is very obvious to me......

OK, back to reading about that "other" Gryffindor in HP5. At least it gives me something fun to do while I wait for the call.
Or should I say "Wait for the owl" but owl is NOT a clue!!!!!;)

tinydancer 06-27-2003 12:45 PM

So you know that:
It's a group in the Dallas Panhellenic
It's not penguins
It's not owls

That eliminates some groups, anyway. Makes for a fun game.

That's awesome! I will definitely go steal that from somebody once it comes.

Well sure it's obvious to you, you know who Gryffindor is!! LoL :p

p.s. thanks for the clues! hehehe.. I'll be thinking about them when your HP-owl gets closer :)

Is it a 2 or 3 letter group?

Well, Harry Potter was in Gryffindor and he had a pet owl! Is it symbolic? Perhaps. ;) But maybe it's a red herring!? Mwah ha ha ha!!

Ooh, we also know (from your first post) that there's also a more local (Ft Worth, perhaps?) chapter which didn't seem as active, which is why you went to Dallas....

So, it could be Alpha Phi, Phi Mu, Delta Gamma, or ZTA...since they have alum chapters in Ft. Worth.

Ugh! Why isn't Ft. Worth Panhel anywhere on the web!!

Actually, I really like the whole puzzle nature of it more than anything. I *love* reading the rush stories and trying to figure out which house is which and guessing where they're gonna go.

It's like a murder mystery with a happy ending. :)

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-27-2003 03:41 PM

I peeked ALL the time...........

Sorry (well not sorry) to add to your list, but we also have a Ft Worth Alumnae Chapter.

JohnsDGsweethrt 06-27-2003 03:50 PM

What is Eta Rho? Confused. Sorry

She was talking about reading Harry Potter (HP) so I joked that it must have something to do with Eta Rho (greek letters - HP). CP2000 and I have too much free time sometimes. :)

I totally did not make the HP=Harry Potter connection - ding dong!
Don't forget that there is HP sauce too....mmmmm

Yes, I have free time because I am bored and don't particularly care for my job. sigh...

tinydancer 06-27-2003 05:26 PM

LOL - y'all are WAY overthinking this!

Euuwww - it would be awful if this fell through for some reason and I had to make up new stuff for you sisters.

If things don't work out with Gryffindor, you could try for Slytherin... :p

ETA: I am a dork. Reading back through this thread, I realized I totally forgot to wish you luck! Hope all goes well with Gryffindor. :)

Kristin AGD 06-27-2003 05:41 PM

So when do we get to start a betting pool? A lot of money to be made. LOL.

Just joking. Good luck tinydancer!!! :D

Hmmm...I wonder if the house colors correspond to real sororities:

Gryffindor is red and gold, so corresponds with Chi Omega, and somewhat with AGD (red, buff and green).

Hufflepuff is black and yellow, so corresponds with Kappa Alpha Theta.

Ravenclaw is blue and bronze (I think...it's been a while since I read HP), so Tri Delta, AXiD.

Slytherin is green and white, so that corresponds with Kappa Delta (sorry....don't shoot the messenger, I am just having fun with colors. I think AEPhi has green too)

I don't know if I have the Hogwarts colors totally accurately, so feel free to dig out those books and correct me! :D

AHHH!!! I'M IN SLYTHERIN!!!!!

(AEPhi's colors are green and white, same as Kappa Delta's.)

Though I thought Slytherin's official colors were green and silver... someone please confirm this, for the sake of AEPhi's and KD's everywhere... ;)

tinydancer 06-27-2003 05:55 PM

Someone is having too much fun!:)

texas*princess 06-27-2003 05:55 PM

lol CutiePie!!!

earlier in this thread we were coming up with all kinds of crazy theories as to how Gryffindor might be a clue! :)

I had a feeling that you would post soon after you'd read that. hee hee...

Actually I think you're right. I think the Hogwarts houses each have 1 metallic color (i.e. gold or silver and then their regular color), but I can't remember.

The colors are DEFINITELY stated in Book #1. Maybe even around the Sorting Hat Ceremony part, but I can't remember for sure!!

CutiePie2000 06-27-2003 06:08 PM

A few minutes later... Okay, I stand corrected, these are the colours (ah the miracle of the Internet)

Gryffindor: house colours are gold and scarlet.
Slytherin: house colours are silver and green (aephi alum, you are safe!!)
Hufflepuff: house colours are yellow and black
Ravenclaw: house colours are blue and bronze (Ooh, I like, just add pink and you have DG! ;) )

Sistermadly 06-27-2003 06:15 PM

I guess that would make me a Gryfferin.. or a Slythendor. *snort* ;)

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-27-2003 06:16 PM

Oh, you have too much free time..........:D

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-27-2003 06:17 PM

But what would us unique colored people be?????
