There was a story that just came on local news about "College Hill." Some students and alumni of Southern think that the school is being portrayed negatively. They think that the show should feature the more "positive" sides of Southern. The Chancellor said that he has seen future episodes of the show and that he assures us that we will see growth in the characters by the time the season ends. Cleo Fields has stated that if the chancellor approves of the show, he has no place in higher education. There is a big controversy surrounding the show.

I don't see a problem with the show. No one wants to watcha show where all people do is sit in the library and study. Drama gets ratings. The show can't portrary people in a way other than what they give. Sure, it has been known to happen on the Real World, but who are we to say that that's not how the people really are? There is no other way to portray someone that wears shorts that are two sizes too small and is known as "No Drawers."

OMG:eek: I noticed as well that that fool closing his eyes when he talks. I kept asking myself why is he doing that. He already looks really crazy when he talks, and him closing his eyes doesn't help. Also I can't believe that he smells that bad. How you not going to use real soap. He just looks funky, and his ex-girlfriend had yellow teeth so he said they never kissed, I can see why. They both had little issues.

JABARI IS A HOT MESS!!:o That is all I could get out in my laughter. I thought it was cute that they showed the Ms. Black and Gold Pagent and that girl Veronica won. BUT BACK TO JABARI...How in the hell are you going to date a girl and break up with her when she asks to borrow $20 not GIVE me $20 but can I BORROW $20. He called the girl a golddigger. OK, now besides the fact that the girl looks like she has been chewing the gold not digging for it should have told him that he was not right. I think his head is just too messed up from all of that bopping around on the Dance Party game. His voice had me muting the TV the whole time. He needs a queer eye, what not to wear, extreme makeover time out!

I watched the show for the first time last night and thought that it was the dumbest thing that I have ever seen in my life. I honestly think that something is clinically wrong with Jabari. I will not be watching that mess again.

I thought the Black & Gold Pageant was really nice. Good for Veronica. Seems like she had some tough competition.

I read an article about the JJ fiasco. It was reported that a High School in Cali has decided not to allow MTV to film its students for the Reality Show. If the district would have allowed the filming, the district would have gotten $40,000 for scholarships. SOOOOOOOOOO, this is PROBABLY why the "powers that be" at SU are "okay" with the show. SU probably received $$$ for this. And we (some of US @ home)know what that meansssssssss... ;) ;) ;) No, not really, b/c that doesn't happen anymore. But $$$ talks and the other stuff walks.

I didn't want to crack on Jabari because he was from Chicago but the statement about his girl being a gold digger made me finally say something. I know pepole who are sensitive to perfumes and dyes but they don't bring the funk! If all else fails try baking soda! And no one will ever find out whether the myth of big feet big nether regions (and you do have some ski sized feet) is true until you get rid of that odor.

That's SOOOO true! If I know SU like I know SU, they didn't allow the show to be taped on campus without a few "benefits." This show will showcase the university, its greek system, the band, Bayou Classic, etc. Oh yeah. They are gonna be cool with how the show goes down.

The high school in Cali can pull out because it is not a selective enrollment institute. Kids from all over can not apply to attend a high school. Colleges, on the other hand, have control over who attends. It is a for-profit institute. They see $$$$ and everything is cool now. This is gonna be a hot topic in the state.

Just a thought: What if this wasn't a BET show based on an HBCU and it was being taped at LSU?? Would there still be all the drama?? I already know how they roll on that campus....

I can’t see Chancellor Emmert giving permission to do a show like this. The Chancellor et al have been working very hard to bolster LSU’s image as a serious institution. Unless you have final edit authority, there is no way that you aren’t going to come out looking like hot mess. That just won’t do.

As far as doing it the way MTV did at Southern Cal, I could almost see that happening. The group, although it was specifically a sorority, could not be filmed anywhere on campus because USC did not give permission. There would still be drama because we all know or know of someone just like the CH cast members.

I am an adimitted reality show addict, and I saw this show once, and I am not going to go out of my way to watch it again. the cinematography was bad. there was not any strong attempt at a "storyline".

Well - I watched the show on Saturday - I was surprised to see the Alpha Brothers at SU holding it down - I was more surprised to see Ms. Black and Gold - that is great coverage for us - to some extent

When I saw the preview for next week, I was like not that there is a baby daddy #1 and baby daddy #2 drama. This explains why dude in the beginning said that once he finds out that the baby is his for sure, then he will move out of the dorm and do what is right.

I didn't realize that girl was preggers...with two potential baby daddy's...off the chain!

Jabari humors me. I just want him to cut those long nails off.

If you want to show college studentd, then do so in their natural environment, NOT with a bunch of silly rules.

i couldn't believe the entire show was of them getting hazed for using cell phones and having overnight guests. is mtv trying to cram real world, frat life, and road rules all into one?

Shalondrea has always been my favorite. I remember hearing about her pregnancy, but I didn't know how far along she was until Wednesday's show (which I saw on Saturday). Baby daddy drama not good for pregnancy, but if the baby is not her ex's then she has some 'splaining to do. :p Her mother did tell it like it was and then some, and all she could do was look at her mother and realize that she's right. I wonder what's going to happen when she has the baby......

I'm glad that "No Drawz" had to clean the bathroom b/c she brought the whole situation on herself, but when Nina was cleaning and sprayed the toothbrushes with Windex, I was like WTF? :confused: First of all, whose toothbrushes were those and why did she do that? If they belong to her roomates, that move was blatant disrespect and she should get her hiney kicked for that. And furthermore, I'd travel to SU just to JIGGLE HER DAYUM BONES!!!!!! :mad:

I don't like the way Sholondrea conducted herself last night. First of all she hit Kinda with a paintball purposely, and got away with it, then she tried to embarrass her in front of everyone along with Veronica. Very cowardly. Kinda hit below the belt :)
Shalondrea needed that. She needs to go find a daddy for her umm, baby. I admit Kinda is a slob, but I would have at least given her an opportunity to get it together by talking to her in private first. Shalondrea needs to pull that mess with someone from the hood, like me!

Even though Kinda is a slob, Sholondrea should not have put her on blast in front of everybody. She should have pulled her to the side and have a private conversation. Maybe then Kinda would feel more inclined to keep her side of the room a bit neater. I liked how the guys stood up for Kinda b/c they knew Sholondrea was on some bull----.

Jabari had me rolling with his commentary. "She told me to sit down and I did, but I'm not going to take it". He is by far my fave person on the show.

I want to play paintball also, but I heard that it really hurts when you get hit.:(
