YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

I was screaming and squealing the whole time. The minute I saw Kirsten get out first I was like "YESSSSSSSSS HE KNOWS!!!!!" AND what realllllly annoyed me was when Kirsten was saying how she wanted to vomit and so forth, and ya know Jen would have not said that but said something more classy. Just goes to show good girls do win! :D :D :D :D

Starlet 05-18-2003 11:56 PM

I was rooting for Jen all the way. She's just so down to earth and her and Andrew seem to complement each other perfectly. Although it seemed as if Andrew had fallen for Kirsten through the entire time, it was just lust and not love. I hope Jen and Andrew stay together, unlike the previous bachelors' break-ups.

AXJules 05-19-2003 12:07 AM

I am SO THRILLED that he chose Jen.

But did anyone think it was a lil awkward when he asked her to marry him?? The whole thing was just weird to me. They didn't seem like they were in this equal relationship...she just seemed uncomfortable, I dunno.

Sadeyes21 05-19-2003 12:37 AM

I watched the last hour-- OMG I was crying so hard!!
I did think the proposal was lacking in romance. i think Trista and Ryan had a way better ending, BUT I think Andrew and Jen will be happy. I think Jen is the kind of girl we'd all like for a friend.:)

RubberSoul 05-19-2003 12:39 AM

I guess I am the only person who was rooting for Kirsten. I don't know, I agree that her speech was TOTALLY annoying, but Jen just seemed like this simpering little vanilla-pudding thing. I guess I always root for the bitch.

valkyrie 05-19-2003 01:56 AM

I'm happy and not about the outcome. On the one hand, seeing Kirsten crying and upset was very satisfying because she is just a horrible, vacant, insecure little person (or at least she came off that way on tv). On the other hand, I liked Jen, but I don't really think that Andrew is the prize that these women were making him out to be. Hello -- this is Andrew, and I'd like to order one large personality please! He is boring beyond words, and the thought of spending the rest of my life on a vineyard with him is, as Tina Fabulous (who was my favorite by the way) would say, not fabulous at all.

chideltjen 05-19-2003 02:36 AM

i have only seen a few episodes this season and watched the whole thing tonight.

I always root for girls with my name ;) so i am glad he picked ME... er JEN! ;)

Yeah... Kristen sounded too much like Jackie from that 70's show. All looks and no substance... kinda like Andrew's sisters were saying.

And come on... you don't give a girl a monogramed bath robe if you don't plan on seeing her again.

count me in the boat with you!

Ok did anyone REALLY believe when he said he was in love with Jen? He's in love with the fact that Jen fits into his life and family. He was very attracted to Kristen. Everytime he talked about Kristen, he said how gorgeous she was and all that. I liked how she liked animals and she's very excited about life. But I knew she messed up the moment she mentioned her ex. His brother should have told him about the convo, but I think he kinda put too much on it. He even said he was leaning towards Kristen before that. If that's all it took for you to make your choice*shrug* I dunno.

As for the last part, Kristen looked STUNNING when she came up and when Jen came up, well....not hating but that dress she had on was either too big or just not the right fit.

Kristen messed herself up, but I was still rooting for her.

I completely agree. The only episode that I watched was last night's and I would have to say that I was rooting for Jen. She definitely appeared more classy and grown-up than Kirsten. (Jen saying that she just wants Andrew happy be it with her or not whereas Kirsten was POSITIVE that she was going to get the ring - and wanting to vomit when she was rejected was TACKY!). I could tell that there was more than just lust between Jen and Andrew. And Kirsten's attitude when asked about her ex-boyfriend. . . . not very mature (there were other ways to have a discussion in a mature manner than getting as defensive as she did!).

Just my two cents! :)

Sarah

maggieaxid 05-19-2003 10:46 AM

I would also like to mention that Jen is an Alpha Xi Delta from our Pi Chapter at Ohio University.
She made us proud last night!

xo_kathy 05-19-2003 11:02 AM

I thought Kirsten was a brick. I didn't watch much of this season, but I did watch all last night and I just couldn't see Kirsten holding her own in a room full of rich, high-society people at some fundraiser or party. Jen definitely has that posie. And while he may have been hot for Kirsten, perhaps seeing the ladies with his family made him realize that being a hottie isn't all that's important in a relationship. I think the fact that he is nervous and awkward around Jen shows that he really digs her and wants to impress her. When he was with Kirsten he knew it was a sure thing so there was no awkwardness.

Did anyone hear Kirsten say: "Of course my mom was weary when she heard his last name was Firestone. I mean, who wouldn't be weary of that?" Hello, dummy! You're not tired of the name!!!!

Yes, she is dumb (or at least they made her out to sound dumb). It was hard for me to understand what she was trying to say most of the time because she phrased every comment? to Andrew? in the form? of a question? you know?

Plus sometimes she sounded like she had a piece of candy in her mouth.

I was glad that Jen won. And I was SOOOO glad when the brother told Andrew about her ex-boyfriend situation!

Also happy that Bob will be the new Bachelor, but I thought that maybe they would alternate between having The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

LOL!!!! THAT explains the " Congratulations Jen Firestone, OU's Super Fuzz " sign on their house this morning!!!!! I was really confused because that's their chapter specific greek award and Jen was not the name of the girl who won it at Greek Awards last night!

**edited because I got the sign wrong the first time

LeslieAGD 05-19-2003 11:29 PM

I was kinda leaning towards Kirsten, and then I heard the whole boyfriend nonsense!

Now I'm glad Jen ended up with Andrew.

APhiRattlerGal 05-20-2003 11:48 AM

I'm sorry but I'm soooo glad Andrew didnt pick Kirsten.....she wouldn't fit in with his family. She has class, but i think she's more in for the $ than for love. Thats just my take on it. I didnt like her the moment i heard her speak or the way she glared at the other woman so HA i'm glad she lost!!

CutiePie2000 05-20-2003 11:57 AM

Even though Tina Fabulous drove me up the wall, I think she would have "fit in the best" with his family.

Sadeyes21 05-20-2003 07:31 PM

The only sad thing is Jen now has to spend her life with a boring dud!
I was wondering if Kirsten and Andrew slept together? I think it was in the episode 2 wks ago; she said she was willing to do whatever it takes (I think it was her). Do you think she did?
If I was Jen it would bother me that he had slept with someone that was competing for him.

I think that he slept with Jen, Kirsten and Tina.

bgsugirlie 05-20-2003 09:23 PM

He definitely slept with Tina...did you hear the noises after they put up the sheet on that window thingy?!?!

And Jen and Kirsten I'm not so sure about...but probably

LeslieAGD 05-20-2003 10:34 PM

Does anyone else think it's a little wrong that he was sleeping with three girls at the same time? If I were a participant on this kind of show, I wouldn't want to sleep with someone who I've only known for a few weeks who is likely sleeping with other people!

valkyrie 05-20-2003 10:50 PM

I don't think it is wrong. Granted, I'm probably more "liberal" in this respect that a lot of people, but really, if they're all consenting adults, I don't think there's a problem.

I agree with this because these girls knew what they were signed up for. If they did sleep with him, they knew it was going to be on television and that they were not the only girl he was going to be with. It's their decision to sleep with him or not to sleep with him.

I wonder if they provide condoms on "The Bachelor"? (They do on Survivor...it would not do to have a bunch of pregnant contestants after the show)

Yeah, I know that everyone gets screened for diseases and what not before "The Bachelor" starts, but still...... especially when you are Tina on the overnight date, getting the "sloppy thirds" of Kristin and Jen who have gone before you...EEEEEWWWWWW

Sadeyes21 05-21-2003 01:33 PM

I agree. I honestly don't think some girls know what they signed up for because many of them were so heartbroken. They saidthey didn't want to be the girl crying in the limo, but many of them did.
I wouldn't want sloppy thirds either. It's one thing to be with a guy that has a lot of partners, but usually you don't know them which I think makes a difference bc you can't compare yourself to them etc !!! But to be sleeping with a guy who is sleeping with girls you know.
NASTY!!! NASTY!!!!

ladyj39 05-21-2003 01:53 PM

I think they go into the show "prepared"and ready for anything, but as soon as emotions and feelings get involved, all of that preparedness goes out the window and they do get heartbroken.

We all know that most of us get emotionally attached after being intimate with someone, and it has to hurt when you put your feelings (and body) out there and get rejected.

I hope these people are smart enough to use condoms!!!! Do you remember all the false reports that Aaron (Bachelor #2) got o ne of the contestants pregnant?

bucutie02 05-21-2003 02:59 PM

OMG!!!
I missed the show on sunday night, but luckily I taped it- so I got a chance to watch on monday night. It was funny how I didnt hear anyone else talk about it before I watched the finale.

I am really happy he picked Jen, it makes me like Andrew more now. I think he realized that maybe lust was the only thing between him and Kirsten, and Jen was a better fit in his life.

Kirsten just makes ME sick because I cant believe she was saying those things in the limo. She just needs to grow up.

Even though I am glad that Andrew picked Jen, I felt like when he was talking to her was very unromantic and I didnt think he loved her. Maybe he just said that??

I had thought all along he was going to definitely pick Kirsten, but then on that last date- I saw how he gave Jen a present which were the matching monogrammed robes and the picnic basket they used on one of the other dates. He didnt give Kirsten anything, and then Jen got to wear and keep Andrew's shirt. At that moment, I kind of thought he knew Jen was the one he was going to pick. He even said he feels like he has known her his whole life! That was so sweet! I am so happy for them.

I know tonight they are going to talk to them and see how things are going, which I will be taping since I will be watching American Idol. Also, I think Jen will be one of the guest hosts on the view tomorrow morning.

Does anyone know if Andrew and Jen are going to be making any appearances elsewhere???

I don't think it's wrong but I definitely thinks it's EWWWWW! :) Some girls are ok knowing that they're not the only one in their man's bed and that's ok. But, I know that I definitely couldn't sleep with someone knowing that they don't feel as strongly towards me as I do with them. I couldn't sleep with someone knowing that he tells other women that he likes them as well. And I certainly couldn't sleep with him knowing that I could very well be voted off the next day. But, to each their own!

LeslieAGD 05-21-2003 09:47 PM

Is anyone watching the "After The Rose" special?
The bloopers were hilarious! :D

Would somebody please post a recap of tonight's show? I took a nap and didn't wake up until the show was over...duh!
