Fox News quotes a BMG insider as saying that Arista discounted the CD to avoid a total disaster. According to the source, “Just Whitney” was deep discounted at many retailers last week.

The CD was priced at $8.98 instead of the usual $13.99 so that Arista Records could sell 200,000 units.

(Quite frankly it could also be "Just Whitney" isn't all that. Several EURstaffers have noted that the CD, only 39 minutes long,:eek: :eek: :o is just "OK.")

The article notes that other record labels have done the same recently to prop up lagging sales.

A friend of mine told me that this CD really isn't "her"...you know the video with her and her girls rollin' around like they're in their early 20s...it just isn't her style. In any case, I won't be purchasing her CD b/c I don't want to feed her addiction.

Part One - What the Hayle??? Whitney sounded oh sooo CRACKISH and very defensive. How the hayle is she gonna speak to Wendy and not know that Wendy would get all in her azz??? That's how Wendy rolls - she asks the questions most people are afraid to ask. Whitney sure got a potty mouth on her.

Part Two - One mo' gain - what the hayle, she sounded very CRACKISH!!!!!! Didn't know she had implants put in. :eek: :eek: That heffa is bugging out!!! Why she trying to sound gansta and stuh???

WOW! LOL! Steeltrap, thanks for posting that link, as the hilarity of the interview surely brightened my day!

Wendy is a pretty good interviewer. She kept her cool throughout even though Whitney kept acting crazy. She must have been smirking while doing the interview knowing that the ratings must be piling up.

Whitney. Hmm. Well. Yeah.

I guess she just doesn't care what people think about her anymore. Which is cool. I guess. But must she be so uncouth in the process? Really, if you are going to do an interview with someone why deliberately act like an azz?

WENDY....YAY! When Whitney tried to comment on Wendy's weight and said that being overweight was unhealthy, Wendy was like, "being too overweight, or you know, being too skinny like you were on the MJ special..." Burn! LOL!

Also, when speaking of the implants, Wendy said that when Whitney was all skinny they looked like 2 baseballs sitting there....LLLLLLLLLLLOL!

Whitney is so sad it's pitiful. Whitney cursed her head off then ended the conversation with "Be Blessed." Wendy did the right thing by not getting "buck" with her. It shows who's the real ass in the conversation. If you're gonna be so defensive, why agree to do interviews? She needs to remember, her voice was beautiful years ago. Just because you are on top today doesn't mean you will be on top tomorrow. There is always someone out there who is better and with a better personality. Whitney you are a "has been" and your husband is a "never was."

Thanks for the link! I though that Whitney was very defensive and not living up the the ideals and beliefs of the Christian lady she claimed to be. However Wendy was asking some wild and inappropraite questions. Yes Whitney is a hot mess, but come on asking about "wild circus sex" and the like, how would any of us react, especially knowing your on live radio. I probably would have kept my composure but Whitney knowing she is in the lime light should have done a better job at watching her mouth. I tell you one thing she sure didn't hold back (Whitney or Wendy). Maybe she was upset about her father who was sick, he passed away Monday. She seems to have alot going on.

Whitney Houston's mad as hell about people talking all about her business -- and she proved it last week when she told New York's other shock jock, WBLS-FM host Wendy Williams, to watch her step.

Williams began the phone interview by asking Whitney about her troubled hubby Bobby Brown as well as her own drug use. Whitney was then hounded about the following uncomfy subjects: the rumor that she cut her own mother's allowance down; what she tells her 9 year old daughter regarding Bobby's prison sentences; and if infidelity was the biggest problem in her marriage. "No," Houston said, she felt it was reporters -- "you people."

Then came the body shots. Williams asked, "Do you deny you've had breast implants?" No, Whitney said. "They fit well," said Williams, "But when you lost weight, you did look like two baseballs on a stick." Oh no! She did not go there!

Never fear, Whitney managed to throw it right back by saying, "I'm sure when you look in the mirror, you got some reservations, too," she said. "I've seen you. I know what you look like." Ouch!

And when the Dragnet form of questioning just became too much to handle, Whitney just lost it: "You never met me. Y'all don't know me. You don't live with me. You don't sleep with me. You don't do s**t with me, but talk about me.... So watch what you say. Watch what the f**k you say."

Whitney's spokesperson, Nancy Seltzer, also expressed outrage at the interview, telling BET News, "Whitney became fiercely protective as a mother and as a wife. She's sick and tired of being attacked and ambushed

*Movie producer Lee Daniels likes dark stories.
He produced “Monster’s Ball,” the film that was an Oscar
vehicle for Halle Berry. “Monster’s Ball” was about death
row, prison culture, interracial romance and it was set
in a South that looked haunted. Remember the suicide
scene? Or what about the accidental death of Leticia’s
son? The movie was one bleak moment after another
and without the benefit of a soundtrack.
Daniels is preparing to shoot a new film that may
be as dark and controversial as “Ball.” It’s called “The
Woodsman” and it’s about pedophilia. Daniels wants
to cast Whitney Houston in the lead, female role.
“We’re in heavy discussions with Whitney Houston.
I don’t know for sure that we’re going to hire her,” Daniels
says, “[but] she is absolutely aware [of the offer].”
In this movie, the lead male character (who is not
yet cast) works at a lumberyard. He thinks about having
sex with children.
Obviously a film of this nature is bound to raise a few
eyebrows, and Daniels says he is somewhat scared about
making the film.
“I go back and forth about whether it should be made,”
he says. “When the writers pitched the story to me I hung
the phone up. I think there are certain [stories] that don’t
need to be told.”
Daniels decided to make the movie once he read
the script.
“Three-quarters of the way into the [story] we learn
the guy that we like, the guy we’re rooting for, is a pedophile.
It’s the first time we understand about pedophilia. We never
see him touching a child at all. It’s all in his head.”
Because Daniels believes the role is Oscar material
and because he wants more black actors to win Oscars,
he considered casting a black male for the part.
“Whoever plays this role will get an Oscar,” he says.
But when Daniels researched pedophilia he says he
learned that blacks make up less than 10% of pedophiles.
“Statistically, blacks don’t commit pedophilia so
it wouldn’t be true,” he says.
So the male lead will probably not be black. But
back to Whitney Houston.
“She’d play the female lead. No one else agrees with
me [about casting Houston] but no one else thinks I should
do the film,” Daniels says.
It’s been eleven years since Houston’s acting debut
in “The Bodyguard” with Kevin Costner nevertheless
Daniels thinks the singer has ‘chops.’
“She has moments of brilliance like Diana Ross,”
he says. “She was in heavy discussions for ‘Monster’s
Ball.’ I want to give it to her because she’s the underdog
right now. I feel for her. I want to give her a shot. She’s got
a problem. My brother, my cousin are riddled with that
disease, [with] addiction.”
Although filming begins in two-three weeks Daniels
is not worried that he has yet to hire the lead actors.
“We didn’t have half of the cast for ‘Monster’s Ball’
until the very last minute,” he says.
Ashley Judd (“who is not chopped liver,” Daniels
remarks) is also being considered for the female lead
so there is a Plan B, so to speak.
Daniels is patient. He’ll wait for the right actors like
he waited for the right film to produce. He says that he
sifted through many bad scripts including “Good Times:
The Movie,” before he settled on “The Woodsman.”
“As a black man, I want these people [in Hollywood]
to see that we’re going to go right back to the Oscars
and with something that’s off-kilter,” he says.
