It is one thing to have been on a traditional college campus, join a GLO, then have to transfer to University of Phoenix... It is another to have always attended University of Phoenix, and desire membership. Speak to the school, because they have resoundingly said no to the International Board of Directors, citing these organizations do not add to the mission of the University, etc... It is the same deal with a Community College situation. Why do WE have to deal with this?  |

This is a general thread so if people don't have general advice or HELPFUL information, i'm sure there is another thread on this site to relieve whatever stress or anger issues against PNM's they have. It further disappoints me when it comes to the "wasting time" comment. I have been wasting time reading a bunch of crap that does not have anything to do with the original questions being asked. Also, for those that continue to leave comments, do ALL OF US (PNM's, SBglo members, & guests) a favor and read the entire contents of the thread before you add your $ 0.02. ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS RELATED TO MAKING ASSUMPTIONS OF ANY KIND. FURTHER: HOW DO YOU EXPECT PEOPLE TO USE THIS WEBSITE TO ITS FULLEST POTENTIAL WHEN THERE ARE VULTURES WAITING FOR THE NEXT PNM TO COME ALONG JUST TO GIVE THEM UNDUE GRIEF AND OUTLANDISH RESPONSES TO PERTINENT QUESTIONS? ALL WHO PARTICIPATE IN SUCH ACTIONS SHOULD BE ASHAMED. I AM SURE THAT IS NOT IN LINE WITH ANY OF THE MOTTOS/BELIEFS/OBJECTIVES OF ANY SBGLO AND IF IT IS, I'M SURE THAT'S NEWS TO ME & EVERYONE ELSE THAT THOUGHT SBGLOS WHERE EXCEPTIONAL ORGANIZATIONS STRIVING FOR GREATNESS IN THEIR PERSPECTIVE ENDEAVORS. And don't think that I won't keep posting..PNM's are in no way WEAK MINDED OR LAZY OR LOOKING TO BE SPOON FED. We are simply using every tool that we have (which obviously includes websites like this) to further our EDUCATION & RESEARCH and therefore HUSTLING. kEEP IT BREEZY  |
AMEN to this last post. i just joined a couple days ago and i have already had some negative encounters. i believe if u have a problem with questiob someone is asking simply dont respond. i dont know about anyone else but i would rather have no response than one that is negative or one that tries to belittle someone.

If you think that their behavior on GC is putting these organizations in a bad light and somehow deters your interest, I doubt they really care. You're the one who wants to be a part of their organization. I say they can do whatever the hell they want -- which includes being rude or unhelpful to those who pay no attention to their rules of "we don't talk about membership on the internet" and "exercise discretion." Gotta love KEYBOARD COURAGE. I'm sure the story would be different IRL. |
WTF are you commenting for, no one is interested in your organization so find something else to do other than post idiotic and helpless comments. obviously questions are being asked for a reason and you arent doing anything but wasting space with your worthless ass words. so if you have nothing informative to say then dont say SHIT!!!!!!

Just because there's a reason behind asking a question doesn't mean it's worthy of an answer. |

Gee. I go to class and miss all the fun tonight.

Oh, so since GC is a primary resource, then what you want to do is skate? Good luck on your application, though!!! LOL ;) Screen shot. Can someone get me an IP address so I can inform its locale of the lack of discretion here? |

Laughing at all the mixture of terminology- NPHC, NPC.
I don't know that I've ever seen PNM used in association with NPHC groups? This isn't even an entertaining sock puppet. |
Woooowwwwwwww.....lol

I think you may benefit from some reading courses. You are obviously missing the point of the post and not reading thoroughly. I do not recall ever saying "I want to be Patty Pledge" for many reasons besides the obvious DISCRETION, and for someone who refers to the term as rude, why are you even making a reference to it? Primary resource? Incorrect terminology? skating? & this is coming from someone that is using the word "aint" :D LOL You are so ignorant, and a terrible representation of your organization. Since the focus has once again deviated from the original post and we are now focused on assumptions, try this one: In reference to "sKATing", I plan on taking advantage of EVERY aspect of the intake process. Maybe you're bitter because you didn't? Try that, sKATer. :) This entire thing is getting ridiculous. Once again for those who have reading issues "This is a thread for general questions, if you feel in any way the questions are inappropriate or do not excercise the amount of discretion you would prefer, DO NOT RESPOND or POLITELY let whomever know you cannot answer." Its simple. |
LOL @ a prospect thinking she can pull rank

You don't even know what a skater is... We know that... That is why you are one. ASSUMPTIONS, perhaps? The search function is your friend! Knowing who you are talking to is also a part of your "research" too. I don't deal with the choice of ignorance, well... LASTLY, WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO TELL US, MEMBERS OF GLO'S THAT HAVE BEEN ON GC FOR SEVERAL YEARS, ANY THREAD RULES WHEN YOU HAVE ONLY JOINED FOR A HOTT SECOND? You ain't chit! That's why you won't be greek. Actually, stay, I need more laughter in my life... |

I really need more laughter in my life these days... |
well, alrighty then.
Whatever group you are interested in, I suggest you do the following: 1. Learn some deference and discretion. This will get you far in the quest to join the Fab Four. Also learn the correct terminology. 2. Check out the local chapter of XYZ Org. Talk to the Membership chair. 3. Check out the national website of XYZ Org. If you still have questions, contact the National Membership person for that org. 4. Review suggestion #1. I hope that helps. If not, I wish you luck on your journey, anyway. You will not get direct answers on GC about the NPHC process. |

Reiteration is not working... Maybe she will respect you more? IDK? |
You do too much and it is not entertaining in the least. Whatever you think of my soror/fam AKAMonet, she is still my soror.
I would wish you luck in your pursuit to become someone's soror (hopefully never mine, just based on the poor attitude that you have demonstrated here), but I would be insincere. Quote:

I doubt jforever is who he/she says he/she is. Oh well. Not entertaining enough to say DITY.

All kidding aside:
It makes me wonder about the level of "exclusivity" we are providing in our organizations. We do not take any random "Smo" into our ranks. Why? Because, what happens is life-long membership is compromised. When I came through my process, I needed to know over 100 women, knock on all their doors, arrange a time to speak to them for less than five minutes to give my 15 second "elevator pitch". All in a matter of 2 weeks. I also had to look "professional" by being appropriately dressed no matter what activity I was doing. So, if that was digging a ditch or feeding the homeless, I needed to know exactly what I was wearing, moreover, it had to be consistent with my interested sisters. When I attended my Rush, I had to know every name of well over 100 women by first name, shake their hand and identify and introduce myself to them. If an interested sister did not know, I was required to assist them. To this day, my linesisters have needed assistance, and I have been there for them. When I made line, to this day, I just received a ton of emails from my "Back", we found ourselves coordinated sometime during that 2 week of above ground pledging, in fact, Aesop's Fables completed the entire Ivy Leaf Pledge Club without incident on Spelman College's campus. One of the most powerful line songs we sang is still remembered to this day. Most of us are active. In fact we have a Ivy Beyond the Wall on our like #35--RIP. So, when someone who is NOT a member pipes up to me about what it is like to be a member, and why we cannot relent and tell them what the deal is, I do not understand this generation of interest and I would not want them to be a part of my Sorority I love dearly, truly and dedicated so much of life for almost 20 years. This will be the ONLY place on GC where anyone will see this. Only my linesisters "get" this concept. Moreover, my Big Sisters "get" this because they are on my Facebook Page, too. |
I have come to the conclusion that you people are
