If we went by computer, the incomparable Steve Buscemi would be working as a street mime outside a Tallahassee, Fla., dinner theater.
I have never seen a street mime here before...if I DID see one and it was Steve Buscemi, I might just transfer. :p  |
All you Division II schools your coaches are no longer safe:D
Central Oklahoma just canned the entire coaching staff. Give us 3 years and we'll be playoff-quality again! It's been since 1998 that we made it that far... 13-0 in the season and we got knocked off in the first round... |
Georgia whipped Ga Tech's butt. I was a forgone conclusion anyways. Oklahoma got upset which is good for UGA. I think they said Miami would have to lose next week for UGA to make it to the national championship. I hope Miami gets their butt kicked! :D

All I have to say is GO DAWGS!!!!! Kill the razorbacks!!!!!!

The Hawaii game was pretty good too. Alabama dominated even though Hawaii did make a little comeback. Just shows how good the SEC is.
|
All I have to say is NOTRE DAME BLOWS :) Haha, USC kicked some ass tonight! I really hope ND doesn't get a BCS bowl before USC - it's evident that no matter what their draw is - they don't deserve it.
Hopefully Wazzu loses to UCLA next weekend and USC and Iowa meet in the Rose Bowl :) that is... unless Miami loses to VaTech and Georgia loses to Arkansas and IOWA meets OSU in Tempe! :D:cool::D (a girl can dream can't she?) Either way, I'm spending New Years in a WARM climate!!! |
GO SEMINOLES :D :D
|
yeah, i read in todays paper that solich is meeting with the coaching staff to discuss the "future" of the team and the "futures" of everyone on the staff. this was confirmed by the coach himself but he didnt comment further. even some of the players expect some "radical changes" as one player put it. so the next few weeks will be interesting for nebraska football.

Trust me...I'm definitely not denying that Bama is the best team in the SEC West this year. As much as it pains me to say that...it's really the truth. LOL. It's really a shame that they can't go to a bowl.
You know...the more I think about it, the more I am for a playoffs system. This BCS crap is really aggravating. |

I'm not happy either that we lost at the last second. But if LSU is headed to the Cotton Bowl, you're more then welcome to stay with me :) |

Husker Story |
Solich is a good coach.. Sometimes in a program things just generally fall apart. They need to retool their offense. Defenses are getting too good these days to play this pure option type offense. Throwing the ball needs to be a more important part of their game.
|
the problem is they dont have a quarterback who can run the offense, the last "perfect fit" for nebraska at QB was tommie frazier. and dont give me eric crouch! I could break records if I hogged the ball as much as he did. I go to every home game, have since i was 5, and I even go on some road games, and as far as an overall quarterback, tommie frazier was the best fit, he could do it all. I dont think Jammal Lord is nebraskas qb next year if they want to be successful, he just cant cut it. and solich is a decent coach, but he is far from good. hes the one that calls the plays, and if you watched the colorado game, his playcalling was anything but good. hes too hard up to go to the pass, and hes admitted that. Nebraska needs balance, the days of 100 yards passing and 500 rushing are over, they need a balance, if they can run for 200 and pass for 200 a game, then youll see a husker team that can dominate. which brings me to my next point, i think nds qb carlyle holiday would work well in nebraskas offense and open up the passing game. i hope nebraska can either recruit that type of talent this year or develop it through mike stuntz or curt dukes.
|
At any rate I'm looking forward to seeing Nebraska come down hereto Norman, OK next year:D
|
it wont be pretty unless they get back on track, but they have a long way to go.
I think i could solve nebraskas offensive woes. i would bring back floridas fun n gun offense for the huskers. you gotta admit, that would throw off every defensive coordinator in the country if you saw a husker qb in the shotgun with no running back and 5 receivers, i dont think theyd know what to do with themselves!!! :D |
And as you've seen lately the Sooners are having a hell of a time defending long passes. I guess you really can't fault the Huskers too much. OU had problems with the some of the same teams at their houses also. I'm looking forward to ya'll coming down here though. If Oklahoma does one thing well it's playing at home.

Read in the Boston Globe this morning that there's a pretty good possibility that the Orange Bowl would invite Iowa to play Florida State. That would raise some interesting problems, in that the Rose Bowl should have dibs on the Big Ten champs.
Either way, hopefully USC doesn't get screwed over - they've had a hell of a year. Also....did anyone else notice that Uconn finished up at .500...they beat an Iowa State team on a huge downturn, but I'm pretty happy they ended up .500. Collin |
I heard the exact same thing - and let me tell you, Iowa City is NOT happy about it. The Rose Bowl is the Bowl of all Bowls to go to for a Big 10 team - we want our shot at it.
The deal is - if WSU wins this coming weekend AND USC jumps Iowa and lands at #4 in the BCS (b/c of OU's loss) they are gauranteed an at-large bid as a nonconference champ in the top 4. The only other at-large bid would go to either Iowa or ND (even though ND blows - they bring a lot of money) So the Orange Bowl has a few options if Miami wins out and he OB gets 1st pick of at-large teams. Do they 1.) sacrifice legitimacy by pasing up #4 USC and #5 Iowa for a big money maker in #10+ Notre Dame? 2.) Pick USC and possibly lose profits b/c USC doesn't travel as well as ND or Iowa - plus USC is in sunny California, where they have their own beaches. Iowa and ND are in the cold midwest, they would make a vacation out of a Bowl game in Florida 3.) Pick IOWA - getting a legit team that is in the BCS top 5, has fans that travel well and will put asses in seats and leaving the Rose Bowl basically screwed. It's a tough call. Any way you slice it - either Iowa, USC or ND will be left out of the BCS bowls this year. Records and rankings indicate it SHOULD be Notre Dame. |
You know, the BCS passed up any credibility a long time ago.
FSU doesn't deserve the whogivesacrap.com bowl, much less a BCS bowl! |
Quote:
The ND game finally showed our doubters what we've known in SoCal all season-- that USC's team is one of the best and strongest in the nation. Notre Dame DOES NOT DESERVE a BCS bid. 4 -1st downs to USCs 31. NO OFFENSIVE TDs 109 yards to USCs 610? USC and Iowa deserve the bids. But USCs best chance is for Wazzou to lose to UCLA this weekend. The BCS sucks. :( |

this whole BCS garbage needs some tweeking. If your team is not in the Top 10 and youre a conference champ - too bad so sad no automatic bid for you! A team that deserves it should get it. |
The only problem I have with BCS is the "C" between the two operative letters.
The ratings are a joke. |
BCS-- GRRRR, don't EVEN get me started.
USC and Iowa deserve the at-large bids, PERIOD. SO USC doesn't travel well enough for Miami's Orange Bowl cause we've got good weather and an ocean of our own. Give us the Rose Bowl against WSU and Iowa the Orange Bowl then, issue solved, The Hawkeyes still get a great winter vacation, and we get to kick WSU's butt like we should have the first time around. Sheesh. Top 8 teams should get the BCS bids, period. In a playoff system. Damn, I'd really LOVE to see USC and Miami play each other. :( Oh well. BOY it felt good to kick Notre Dame's butt up and down the field at the Coliseum. Especiially since mr amycat and all his friends bet on ND (was 11 pt spread in favor of USC)...lol That'll teach them to bet against my Trojans! |

as I understand it, if Iowa did get and accept an Orange Bowl biid, the Rose Bowl could then offer it to USC, which would set up a great PAc 10 title game, which USC would win, of course. ;) |
YESSSSSS!
Latest BCS rankings out and USC is #4!!! Which means we won't get screwed out of a BCS bid!!! And Iowa will get the at large bid FOR SURE!!! WOO HOO!! That's the way it was supposed to turn out!!! Bu DAMN I wish we were going to the Fiesta! We've got what it takes. :( ha ha ha Oh well! I'm pretty happy w #4! Bowl Championship Series standings Updated Dec. 2, 2002 1 Miami (Fla.) 2 Ohio State 3 Georgia 4 Southern California 5 Iowa 6 Washington State 7 Oklahoma 8 Kansas State 9 Texas 10 Notre Dame |

Assuming Miami, Georgia, OU and WSU WIN this weekend.... We already know that USC is #4 in the BCS, thus guaranteeing them a BCS Bowl - the Orange just might take Iowa snubbing #10 Notre Dame. Leaving The Rose Bowl (WSU already playing in it as Pac 10 champ) with the following teams to choose from: Big 12 winner (OU) ACC winner (FSU) SEC Winner (Georgia) USC (at-large) The Rose Bowl would MOST LIKELY choose OKlahoma for the Rose Bowl so it wouldn't have to have a Pac 10 vs Pac 10 matchup. Then Georgia would meet USC in the Sugar Bowl. |
I am just praying Miami losses and Georgia wins so they can play for the National championship. If not USC might not be that bad of a team to play. :p

The Orange Bowl wanted ND up until USC kicked their asses - they might still want them. If the Orange Bowl DOES select ND - IOWA is screwed and will be playing in the credit card bowl (capital one citrus) And the country will have A LOT of pissed off IOWA and Big 10 fans. I'm cheering HARDCORE for a WSU loss this weekend (so Iowa can play USC in the Rose Bowl) |
:) Iowa,
I think Orange would invite Iowa over ND thanks to USC. :) The Orange Bowl wants a sold out game, a team that travels well, which is why it professed a preference for ND over USC. (I think everyone assuming Iowa in Rose bowl) But Iowa travels well too. USC travels well, better than most teams, but not w same impact as ND or Iowa fans who are eager to flee winter. I think, or, rather, from everything I heard and read, in the USC- Iowa-ND at large situation w only 2 teams getting bid, no one mentioned Iowa getting screwed. It was a USC/ND thing, w USC being the more likely. I'd be one pissed off fan if ND got a bid over Iowa. ND does not deserve one, Iowa does. I am sooo rooting for a Washington State loss, so I can go to Rose bowl on New Years Day! Am also rooting for a Miami and UGA loss too. :) lol Fight on for ol' SC!!! Amy |
its official
today three nebraska coaches were let go. Nelson barnes, the defensive end coach, george darlington, the secondary coach, and craig bohl, the defensive coordinator. frank solich already said hes going to look for an offensive coordinator as well, and he said hes looking for potential coaches inside and outside of the system.
