Why do white people need theme parties?

Because "hey let's get together and drink box wine and eat cheese plates" gets old after awhile.

Cheese plates?! Sounds like your parties were fancier than ours.

Good for a laugh if you still have yesterday's newspaper (10/31) is the Mallard Fillmore cartoon strip.

"Halloween Costumes that are Still Okay" #1 "Swiss Person" "(even a stereotypical Swiss Person)" arrow points to goofy looking man in Lederhosen, embellished suspenders, swiss hat. To this Mallard says "Swiss people won't be offended or even care. But MORE importantly...People who are offended for a living won't care either!"

It's almost as though Swiss people aren't a group that is historically oppressed in America.

Why not? Diddy used to throw an all white bash every summer.

They're a fun change.

O, reason not the need: our basest beggars
Are in the poorest thing superfluous:
Allow not nature more than nature needs,
Man's life's as cheap as beast's: thou art a lady;
If only to go warm were gorgeous,
Why, nature needs not what thou gorgeous wear'st,
Which scarcely keeps thee warm. But, for true need,--
You heavens, give me that patience, patience I need!

I was shooting for a comical stereotype of what "our people's" generic social gatherings might entail which corresponded with the silliness of the inquiry :)

A good cheese & meat board and a veggie platter, absolute requirements for a good party. ;)
