Hmmm.. Its hard to say, considering I wouldnt know what kind of guy I would be if I were a guy.. Heehe, but I think I would most likely be a SAE.. I love those guys, they have a really tight brotherhood, and theyre fun just to chill with.

Hmmm....that would be SUCH a hard choice (maybe even harder than sorority rush, which starts in 33 days!!!) The easy choice would be ATO, because they're great guys and I'd be a legacy, so it would make my family very happy. But there are SO many great houses, and each has their own strengths. I'd probably end up in either fiji (because they're such good friends) or sigma nu (because I love just hanging out with them). But my new neigbors are Pikes, and they're awesome, so they'd be in the running too. Luckily, that's one decision I'll NEVER have to make. But my best friend's little bro is a freshman in the fall, and want to know where to rush, and I have NO idea what to tell him...he wasn't quite satisfied with the "where ever you feel like you fit in the best" line. Damn!

A-PhiAngel 08-18-2001 08:46 PM

I am an Alpha Phi, but if I were male, I would probably choose Sigma Nu.

As a literature major, I am (pardon me if this sounds insane), "in love" with their creed. It is absolutely beautiful and poetic.

Certain parts of their creed are so beautiful, so idealistic, so perfect, I could actually cry reading it. Some of my fave parts:

On eternal friendship:
"TO BELIEVE IN THE LIFE OF LOVE; to win in the fresh morning of our youth the loyal love of faithful friends, who will go with us unmoved into the darkening shadows of life's closing day; and so to seek and to find, to have and to hold the friendships that will abide."

On honor:
"TO WALK IN THE WAY OF HONOR; to exalt the fundamental virtues of the race; and, prizing every noble impulse, to realize so deeply the baseness of deceit, that no obligation will be more binding than our plighted word."

Humorous and touching:
Emulating the chivalrous deeds of courtesy, and sealing not our hearts against the touch of tenderness, to win the love and care of some incorruptible woman. And so to be loyal to the Knighthood of Honor.

Just plain beautiful:
"...to believe that the melody of birds, the laughter of children, the unmeasured sacrifice of motherhood, and the ceaseless yearning of all men for a wider outlook and a nobler existence are prophetic of the perfect joy and love of another world;"

Perhaps I am odd, but if this creed says anything at all about the men who join Sigma Nu, I'd join in a heartbeat.

Angel

If I were a guy...

No other choice in the world. I'd be a TKE!

AXWhoah 12-11-2001 09:11 PM

Hmm, good question. It would have been Alpha Epsilon Pi but my exboyfriend is in that and he's being a jerk as of late. Although I still love the guys, I'm also not jewish....So if I were a boy I'd definately want to be a Delta Tau Delta just cause they are sooo nice. Or maybe Beta Theta Pi for the same reason.

Thetagurl 12-11-2001 09:47 PM

This question is cool... If I were a guy on my campus I would be a PIKE, they are your sort of bad boys all the girls love them and all the boys hate them.
But if I were to go nationally it would definately no doubt about it be Sigma Chi. Sigma Chi would be my second choice when it comes to my campus
God, I hope my boyfriend doesn't see this.. :p

Thetagurl 12-11-2001 09:48 PM

Oh yeah, thanks to everyone who would want to be a Theta that is very flattering

Miami1839 12-11-2001 09:52 PM

Your welcome. :)

KappaStargirl 12-11-2001 10:04 PM

even though my best guy friends are Phi Kappa Taus, I think if I were a guy I'd be a Sig Ep or a Phi Delt.

kizzie22 12-11-2001 10:09 PM

Good Topic

It would be Phi Beta Sigma...They were running things at my school. They were into community service and anything that was positive and uplifting for the school and community. These guys could step their a$$e$ off...Their brotherhood was tight...I just luv me some Phi Beta Sigma...

maggieaxid 12-11-2001 10:22 PM

If i were a guy, i would have been a TKE legacy, so maybe them. But when i was in school, i think i would have liked to be a Sigma Pi or a LXA.

SnakeyKPledge 12-11-2001 11:27 PM

I don't even have to think about this one...I would be a Theta Chi!! I mean...that is if I could get a bid from them!

lilsnakeyk 12-12-2001 12:39 AM

I maybe a lil Sigma Kappa, but if i were a guy i would be an SAE. I haven't met one guy in that house who wasn't absolutely wonderful. Oh yeah, and my boyfriend is one.

Greek Love,

Probably DKE or SAE. Those chapters just have a shitload of alumni with a lot of money. I'd say TKE too because they have a lot of chapters, but they weren't on my campus so I can't speak from experience. And although money has very little to do with brotherhood IT DOES have to do with the ability to expand to more schools and to have an influence within university administration. Besides, freshman who are eager to join a GLO are drawn to huge houses and flashy guys cause they seem cool. it's real hard to "sell" a fraternity when you don't have the means to compete with the big boys. My chapter did really well for one that didn't even have a structure to call a "house" but thats because the guys who did have all of that were cool with us, which made us almost as appealing to ignorant freshman as they were.

No offense to the frosh on the board, but any upperclassmen knows what i'm talking about when it comes to the perspective of someone who has been in a GLO for a few years and someone who wants to get in.

If I were a guy I'd have to go Sigma Nu-those guys were so much fun!! They always knew how to have a good time, and they had a lot of great guys-but, my Hunny is a Sigma Nu, and I'm a sweetheart, so I'm biased.:D Or else I'd be KA-they really are Southern Gentlemen....and so good looking.....:D

Betarulz! 12-12-2001 01:19 AM

I'm kinda surprised by the people who make the differentiation between campus, and national, because I know that if I were at another campus I'm not entirely sure if I would even be in Beta Theta Pi.

That said, back to question, if I were a chick, I think I would definetly be in Chi O, or Kappa Kappa Gamma here at Nebraska, but more likely Chi O. Here at Nebraska, they are the nicest girls, all cute (but not so gorgeous that they are bitchy) and they are also really smart - they are probably the female equivalent of our chapter. Plus they are just so cool.

Eirene_DGP 12-12-2001 02:07 AM

It would be a tie between Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma. All of the men in both of these organizations are outstanding. They truly uphold their traditions and better our communities.

Optimist Prime 12-12-2001 10:39 AM

I answered this already, but things change. I like ChiOs symbolism and symphony. But no ChiO's here. So...hmm. I would want to be a Sigma Kappa maybe? DZ or Zeta I guess. Who knows. I'd be happy just about anywhere. Its hard to imagine being part of something that didn't have the creed. Or maybe I'd be in Delta Sigma Theta. They have the same colors. :)

Peaches-n-Cream 12-12-2001 03:19 PM

Probably, Sigma Phi Epsilon or Beta Theta Pi because they were my friends at school. :D
