My unique facts
Hi!
Here are some unique facts about me: - When I was around 7 years old, my mom made my sister and I audition for the movie, "Attack of the Killer Tomatos II" - I once got to ride in a United Nations tank. - I am a member of the National Archery Association. - I originally met my boyfriend on the internet. My dad thinks he's great; his parents love me. - I've met most of the actors from all four Star Trek shows. - I currently work for Cirque du Soleil. - When I was 11, I fell asleep on the floor of my bathroom. After my panicked family banged on the door with no response, my dad kicked through the door. I woke up wondering "How come I can see through the door?" - I've owned a computer since I was 6 years old (woo! Go Commodore 64!!). - A couple months before Bill Clinton was first elected to office, my sister and I sat behind Hillary and Chelsea on a Delta Air Lines flight. The Secret Service Agent, who was sitting across the aisle, appeared to be hitting on my sister. - I've only been on 8 "real" dates in my entire life (I'm 24 years old). I own both freshwater *and* saltwater fishing tackle. ......Kelly :) |
Re: My unique facts
Navane,
I shot freestyle and bowhunter 3D and indoor Vegas and 5 dot rounds for along time till I got really burned out. Shot a few ASA and NBO competions, as well as my state bowhunter and field archery tourneys. I realize this isnt anything like recurve freestyle v round, but you dont see alot of people mention archery anymore. |
I forgot my best one! In 5th grade I rode an elephant! They brought it to Boogarts Grocery Store. I cried when I saw all the purlpe aticeptic on the poor animal. (from sticking it with the pole)
I also sat on the lap of the actor who played Cocheese and had a picture taken. It was at Sears when I was about 6 or so. Gee, doesn't the midwest offer a lot of opportunities! I have a name I've used (still do) whenever I would sign up for things, make calls, or didn't want to give out my real name. It belongs to a girl I went to Jr High with. Didn't like the girl all that much, but LOVED her name! |
I rode a camel at the Bronx Zoo when I was very little. :D I also went to an baby elephant's birthday party there. I saw the lady from Romper Room. It was exciting! :D

me too!!! or maybe it was an elephant, ..i forget, but i have pictures somewhere :) more about me: i don't like baseball, but i love baseball movies i've met stephano from days of our lives(who's name is not coming to me right now i've been using the internet for 10 years i have seen the who's rock opera "tommy" 3 times, including it's closing night on broadway i am known for being able to sleep anywhere..my parents still tease me about the fact that when we took a cross country trip when i was in 4th grade that i slept through all of the cool stuff..and when i was 3 or 4 i fell asleep into my chinese food in a restaraunt |
I have a deathly phobia of throwing up! I'll do almost anything to prevent that. The last time I did was in December of 1992 - hope I'm not jinxing myself!!! Isn't that silly?

I don't think i am nearly as interesting as all of you folks, but here i go:
-i have no knuckle on my right hand, ring finger -i have extremely ugly toes -there is a place on my right knee where i cant grow hair (which saves time on shaving) -i am obsessed with yoga and relaxation -my finger nails are always short, bc i hate having long nails -my eyes change color from brown to green depending on my mood -i am a shop a holic, i cant even get within 100 yards of a mall without loosing control. - i am dyslexic -i have a brother who is 10 years younger then me, but from the same parents and noone in between us. -i am hyper sensitive to smells -i have unsucessfully tried to quit smoking 5 times. |
I forgot to ad....
My uncle used to be on "All My Children", he played Mark Dalton, Erica Kane's half brother. I have a fear of Animals in people clothes. Esp. Dogs! I love dogs, but dogs in clothes totally freak me out! I talk to myself all the time, and I talk to the TV too. My friends are always impressed at my uncanny ability to make up names for people on the spot. Since I can't remember names I make up things like "The man", "Bio Camp Tramp", "tube tops". It makes life more interesting. My life has a weird resemblance to Rachel Green's from "Friends". However, my best guy friend did not knock me up. But everything else seems to follow suit. |
maggieaxid -My uncle used to be on "All My Children", he played Mark Dalton, Erica Kane's half brother.
That is the ONLY soap I was really hooked on-EVERYONE would gather in the dorm snack bar and watch it---EVERY AFTERNOON! I go all the way back to Phillip and Tara---That says too much! Your uncle was an excellent actor! |
when we first moved to Santa Fe 6 years ago, we bought our house from Walt Willey, who as far as i know is still on AMC..i don't know what character he plays tho b/c i am a DOOL girl :)

Geez...
When I was in college, the only thing anybody ever got together to watch was the original (very camp) "Batman" series. Oh, except of course for the original Sesame Street. It was really cool, and, after all, we were just a bunch of kids. |
Forgot two more...
My dad was really old when I was born. I am in my mid 20's, yet my dad fought in WWII. He joined the navy in March 1945, at 17 years old.
His dad waited for a long time to have kids as well, so he was old when my dad was born. My grandfather was born in 1875. It freaks me out sometimes thinking that my grandfather was born 10 years after the civil war ended. lol. |

You've shot at Las Vegas? I know a couple guys who go to Vegas for shootouts - both from Southern California. Carl Pettit was an assistant coach for my university archery team - he helped train the compound shooters. Though, if anyone, I'd bet that you might have heard of Scott McKetchnie. From what I understand, he's often the big money winner. Hey, I don't know if you saw it, but I posted a link to my website on another thread ("What do YOU look like?") I have a picture of me on the line. :) Ok..ok..I now apologize to the rest of the GCers who had to put up with my discussion on archery. As BillyMac mentioned, it's not often someone mentions it. :) ......Kelly :) |
Well, let's see.....
I can stuff my entire fist into my mouth I can tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue I have had my hair every color possible in the "real hair color" spectrum (meaning no blue, green, etc.) When I was a kid I had over 250 Barbie (and Barbie-type) dolls. Anyone remember Sindy, Darci, Tuesday Taylor, Candi, etc? I used to jump down an entire flight of basement steps onto the concrete floor below on a regular basis and NOT get hurt I smoke cigars I rescue animals; I stop and get turtles who are trying to cross the road and take them to a safe location for example I have appeared in all forms of media; television, radio, recording, film, and print In the 5th grade I participated in a picket/protest against a teacher at my school |
Kelly, went back and checked your site! If I forgot, thank you for the PIX for me!!!!!!:)
I never shot any comp. as they thought everyone wanted to be Robin Hood! My most fun was shooting an arrow in the air and seeing how close I could get to it when it came down! That was the old days, had better EYES and REFLEXes!!!! AAAAAAAH! The good old days!;) |
Mine!
OK .. these are mine ..
- I was born on the February 29, 1980 (leap day) - I was born in a volcano city in Indonesia, and experienced some volcano eruptions, eventhough not from the same one by my city - I am ambidextrious - I LOVE Iowa (I think I'm a freak - just joking!)I really do love Iowa - Since I lived in Indonesia, I know how to drive on the left side of the road. When I moved to the US for the first time, it took me a while to be familiar with the road system and the metrics - I'm not afraid to needles. My dad is a doctor, and I used to play with needles and stringe (secretly, of course :D It's fun! ). And when my dad took the acupuncture course, he practiced on us. Yeah, during that period, I tried my best to avoid my dad - otherwise, I would end up in my bed with lots of needles sticking up from my body! - I love to travel, and I've been in 14 countries and 38 states (and 3 Canadian provinces) - I have three favorite spots in the world: The Eiffel Tower Square (Paris), the Michigan Ave. bridge (Chicago) between the Wrigley Building and Chicago Tribune, and the Place Jacques-Cartier (Montreal) - My favorite city is San Antonio (go Texas!), esp. the River Walk - I'm horrible in English grammar - I HATE clowns ... freak me out - My dream house is the castle of the Mummy Returns - like the British Museum with lots of artifacts. My favorite character is Indiana Jones - I always do laundry every other week, because of my limited underwear (the limiting factor), which is good  , maybe? |

Hells yes! Glad you like it here. When did you visit? The two best times are Christmas and Fiesta (late april). |

Just wanted to say happy Fiesta, Lifesaver- I was in town last week and had forgotten it was about to be Fiesta time-that is the one thing about S.A. that I miss, especially NIOSA. BTW my dad also served in WW2, he will be 78 this year. |

Did Oyster Bake on saturday. (Went looking for SATXAPhi at her booth, but missed her) Nothing like spending the saturday with 65,000 of your fellow townies. Watched the Texas Cavaliers river parade on TV - didnt feel like fighting my way downtown (for those not in the know - a parade where the floats actually float.) Thursday will be NIOSA - College Nite - yeah! Then friday is Battle of Flowers. Definately will be there. A friend works for KLRN, so we have great seats on the route, and a free catered meal. hells yeah. I have never been to the Flambeu parade, but do dig some fiesta. Of course have to deal with the chicks getting into the royalty gowns. "show me your shoes" lol. (I bet this sounds insane to those who have never been to Fiesta.- basically for the last 110 years the town has shut down for a week to drink and commerate texas independence) BTW - did you see the ladies from the conservation society on Good Morning America this AM? They were talking to the weatherman dude. Busted a stage crew guy with a cascaron. hahah. You know you are from the Alamo city if you feel the breaking of egg shells on your head and your instant reaction is to cover your beer to keep the confetti out. See the official Fiesta! website: HERE |
I didn't see that but I did see Debra Daniels (Ithink it was KMOL) bust an egg on the weatherman last Friday-haha!!

I've been in only one car accident, and that wasn't my fault ... You know, winter in Iowa is rather slick. One car accident is ENOUGH for me. I've been in one flight "accident" when we had turbulances (sp?) three times in a row during a snow storm above Tennessee, and the oxigen mask dropped down from the compartment. Not really enjoying that too much. |
I met my fiance on a blind date....my parents also met on a blind date, and have been married for 30 years.
I have an irrational fear of clowns. I hate shopping. I hate talking on the phone. I love 80's music and movies. I lost my virginity at 19, and have been with only one person. I was one of three members of the only Spring pledge class to ever go thru my chapter. |
Wow! I just read all 11 pages of this thead, and you all are incredibly interesting! I feel so dull in comparison, but here goes:
~~I'm the first person in my family ever to go to college ~~My parents both had a strong feeling when I was born that they should name me Ginger, but didn't know why. I had black hair up until I was in early primary school, when it started to lighten into a colour that can only be described as "Ginger" :) ~~I have a phobia of standing water, and therefore, never learned to swim and have never been on a boat. Yet I live on a lake. ~~I was a music minor, but neither play an instrument nor sing. ~~I can wiggle my ears. ~~I can trace my family history back to the Revolutionary war on one side, and on the other side I am only a second generation american. ~~I lost my virginity to a married man (although I didn't know at the time) and I don't regret it. ~~My parents knew my ex-fiance before they knew me  ~~I speak with a southern accent when I'm nervous (I'm from Wisconsin), and I spell most words in English form. ~~I'm the only person in my family...ever...to not have been married by age 20. ~~I can only sleep if someone else is in the room or the TV/radio is on. ~~I have two half brothers that I didn't meet until I was in college. Hmm...I think that's it! Ooh, one more: ~~In high school I was voted Female Most likely to be bald by 25  |
*My right shoe size is one FULL size larger than my left.
*I have to sleep with some sort of light on. *I've had five jobs within the last two years. *I was hired on my fifth job on my 20th b-day. *I was a finallist in a Geography Bee in 8th grade. *The first time I saw a crystal clear body of water was last summer. *The first time I swam in a natural body of water was last summer. *The first time I've ever been to a bonfire was when I was 19. *The first time I've been out of town w/out my parents was when I was 19. *I've never broke a bone. *I've never seen the ocean. *I've never seen the movie "Titanic" *I've never been in trouble w/ the law, including speeding tickets. *I've never smoked. *I've never got "high" *I've never got drunk. *I've never got "laid" :), I want to wait until I get married or emotionally ready. *I was a Saks and Fifth Avenue model when I was four. *I was a chronic underachiever in elementary and middle school and maintained a "D" average, then I was diagnosed with ADHD and treated in 8th grade, within a year or two I became an A/B student. *My lowest subtest score on my ACT was 11, my highest was 31. *This fall will be my fourth year in college, I am just now deciding on my major. *I was due for birth in mid-June but wasn't born until mid-July. *I hate and fear driving on highways! |
...
I have the same name as my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and plan to name my son the same. Theyve all had the same job. I was born in Memphis, lived there for three weeks, and have never been back. I got a 1490 on my SATs and actually got the highest score in my school (bright buncha kids, huh?) Ive been in three car accidents before the age of 18, and the only reason I dont have permanent injuries is because I wasnt wearing a seat belt (although I lost a friend that same way, and now wear it even for block long drives, despite my history) Ive come very close to breaking my spine twice, once surfing, once high school wrestling, and havent done either since (havent really gotten over the surfing thing, and state quarter finals would have been my last match if it had been my first of the season due to the injury) Im 6' 1'', 218 lbs and scared out of my mind of spiders. Even pictures of spiders. I know it sounds weird, but trying to explain a phobia is impossible. Despite being an educated person, I thoroughly enjoy pro wrestling. Ive watched it forever, and I feel that anyone that makes judgements about the people who do without watching a single show themselves is an ass. Im very proud to be Southern. I have always lived below the Mason-Dixon line, yet I do not: -discriminate on the basis of race -tip cows -drive a muddy pickup truck -understand how a man doesnt even think of holding the door for a woman I can name every U.S. President in order. I can name the capital of any country in the world. I can put my feet behind my head and walk on my hands. I cant write with my left hand. I cant use scissors with my right hand. I thought fraternities were lame as hell until my first fraternity party. |
- I'm the first grandchild to attend college ( & will graduate!)
- I went to HS with an A & F model. - A famous alum of my high school is Kyle Brady (I forget which football team he plays for...might be the Jets) - I backed a car into a telephone pole when I was 9. - It took 2 times to pass my driver's test. - I'm the first greek in the family. -My bro and I are born in the same month (but 2 weeks apart) -I love the state of Louisiana right now. - I can still whistle and snap my fingers. |

I think the name thing is funny, and I can't believe ur ACT scores! That's crazy! |
