Congrats to NUalumMUmom, WalkintheWoods, Sunflower State and Northernmom!!! What happy news you got today. As you can see, my daughter is a Theta, so I have a special place in my heart for that chapter. All four girls are a part of a wonderful greek system at Mizzou. I hope their next four years are filled with laughter, love, friendship, and memories to last a lifetime! I know 4 girls who went through the process this year, and today they found out their new homes - 2 DGs, 1 GPhi, and 1 PiPhi. Congrats to all!!!

NUalumMUmom that would be so much fun! I am not 100% sure on family weekend yet--will wait and see what Theta stuff is planned b/c we may also try to come for Homecoming weekend and I just heard that Nov. 1 is Dad's weekend. But if we are both there at the same time, I'd love to connect! PM me!

Alpha Delta Pi had 91 new members.

I got to welcome two girls who I've known for a long time and are very special to me home to ADPi this afternoon! I couldn't have been more excited to see them run home to us today!

We got a wonderful pledge class and I am so excited to get to know all of our new members. :)

AGDAlum I will double check with my daughter but I am fairly certain she told me they did go to the Quad for Bid Day reveal. I think that then each group of girls went from the quad back to their new chapters for welcome parties there.

AGDAlum according to the Panhell FB page from the day before Bid Day, the reveal was scheduled for the Quad so I assume that is where it took place. I'm curious though--I looked on youtube in the days following Bid Day to see if there was any footage of the new members opening their envelopes from this year. There are videos on youtube from the last several years but I did not see any from this year. Anyone have one? Or pictures?

Here is a video that shows a little bit of bid day, but is more a story told from the Pi Chi's point of view. These videos get me every time and I get so emotional. I would love it if my daughter was a Pi Chi at some point, though I am sure next year is looking forward to recruitment as an active sister.

Thanks so much NorthernMom! It was great to get a little glimpse of Bid Day. I've heard that being a Pi Chi is a terrific experience. I know what you mean it is really fun to see these videos and tap into what our daughters are experiencing right now. Such an exciting time!

Mizzou recruitment update!
 

Just an update, as my dear daughter is now a proud initiated member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She is still thrilled with her decision and is gradually getting to know her many, many sisters. They are currently in the flurry of Homecoming preparations and my daughter is pomping her little fingers to the bone. We are going to Columbia for Dad's weekend on Halloween with the whole family because my husband did not want to drive 8 hrs each way by himself. I can't wait to see the house and meet some of her sisters. I hope the other young women mentioned in this thread are doing well, too! As I read back through the thread I can't believe this was only 2 months ago. I am very glad that we have this chapter behind us and am looking forward to the future. Thankfully, my next daughter is 3 years away from college, so I have some time before going through this three ring circus again! :)

Congrats to your initiated daughter! Mine has her initiation on Sunday. She is enjoying ZTA very much! We were there for Family Weekend and got a tour of the house. All the sorority houses there are so beautiful! Walked right past the Theta house.

Zeta did a bid day video. It's all footage of them back at the house getting ready for the girls to arrive after getting their bids (wish it showed them too), but it's still cute!

NUalumMUmom, so glad you are all going to get to visit your daughter this weekend! My daughter is loving Theta also and very happy to be an active member. I was able to go to her initiation (being a Theta myself) and it was really special. I know what you mean--hard to believe that our flurry of posts during rush was only two months ago--in some ways it seems like much longer--so much has happened and we feel that our daughter has already grown so much! Have a wonderful time in Columbia. I remember loving Dad's weekend--I'm sure your husband will enjoy the activities with the Thetas and you'll all enjoy seeing the campus through your daughter's eyes.
