Yes. Please.

Lordy, Lordy. Perhaps some of the singers should have opted for a Dramatic Reading.

Someone did ventriloquism a couple years ago!

Hmmm...I am underwhelmed by the singers...totally. Singing anything from Les Mis has to be the ultimate pageant cliche. One of my friends is a Miss America volunteer and I texted that to her. No reply

Bollywood and Ballet were the best two. Don't care for Irish dancing, but she did a good job.

thetalady 09-15-2013 10:28 PM

Miss Texas looked fabulous in that red dress... the singing was regrettable.

I hatged the swim suit competition because of the camera work. He kept zooming in on their bums :( Not necessary.

Sciencewoman 09-15-2013 10:29 PM

I remember when Miss Michigan did hula dancing many years ago. I actually groaned when they announced this as her talent, because I thought that was it. Kaye Lani Rae Rafko won Miss America that year, though...so it worked!

Sister Havana 09-15-2013 10:30 PM

I would be super intimidated if I had to play violin in front of Joshua Bell.

Katmandu 09-15-2013 10:31 PM

Is this good.... or screechy? Or good and screechy?

Sister Havana 09-15-2013 10:34 PM

She was better than the last couple singers. Miss Oklahoma was the best singer - not even close.

IndianaSigKap 09-15-2013 10:36 PM

Miss Florida twirling batons was wayyy better than four of the singers.

DubaiSis 09-15-2013 10:37 PM

The show doesn't even start until 9 PM for me! I guess I'll have to stop reading this thread for awhile...

pbear19 09-15-2013 10:37 PM

I really thought Miss Oklahoma did a great job, but I'm biased. :) I haven't been a fan of the other singers. LOVED Miss California, her arms were just amazing. (That sounds like a really weird compliment.)

LAblondeGPhi 09-15-2013 10:38 PM

Favorite talents:
Minnesota
Oklahoma
Florida
California
I liked Kansas - I'm not a singer, but I thought she sounded great
I thought New York very entertaining, but I don't know how to judge it

Painful:
Georgia
Texas
Maryland

Sciencewoman 09-15-2013 10:40 PM

I think Miss OK will do well. Miss FL will have the sympathy factor.

Sister Havana 09-15-2013 10:42 PM

The first question is about Miley Cyrus and twerking. Why am I not surprised?

IndianaSigKap 09-15-2013 10:43 PM

Minnesota, California, and Kansas are my favorites.

ETA: awww Kansas is out. :-(

Xidelt 09-15-2013 10:45 PM

I have the judge's questions on mute. This part is so nervewracking to me!

Katmandu 09-15-2013 10:45 PM

Miss NY was great.

Xidelt 09-15-2013 10:45 PM

I'm really pulling for Florida and Kansas.

LAblondeGPhi 09-15-2013 10:46 PM

OSQ -
OK - kinda cute, could have been stronger.
MN - strong, articulate, funny.
CA - Oh man, could have been a little stronger, but good content
NY - Not great.
FL - Dayum - almost. So articulate, and then didn't really answer. Pullin' those heartstrings though!

IndianaSigKap 09-15-2013 10:46 PM

Florida just blew it....hope her other scores are high.

Sciencewoman 09-15-2013 10:48 PM

Still pulling for OK. I agree, Miss NY's response was very good.

Considering 22 of 53 contestants are known to be NPC Greek, there will likely be a question regarding the UA situation (see other long thread elsewhere within GC).

Looks like they did not address the UA question, although it was sounding close! Poor Miss FL... she bombed her chance.

DDDMomma 09-15-2013 10:49 PM

I would have rather answered the twerking one than Syria. Good job, California!

PersistentDST 09-15-2013 10:49 PM

The "Stand by your man" question...just Ugh! And then a question about Syria!?

Some of these questions require more than a soundbite...

LAblondeGPhi 09-15-2013 10:50 PM

Hope I'm wrong, but my prediction:

4th RU: NY
3rd RU: Florida
2nd RU: California
1st RU: Oklahoma
Miss America: Minnesota

Spot on. MN clearly won this round, no competition.

Sciencewoman 09-15-2013 10:50 PM

Seriously, how are twerking, MLK, and Syria equal in difficulty?

Katmandu 09-15-2013 10:51 PM

I'm always amazed tho that often the woman with the stupidest or most inarticulate answer ends up with the win. Hated the "stand by your man" answer.

LXA SE285 09-15-2013 10:51 PM

Having not watched this all the way through since Heather Whitestone won, I can't believe they get so little time for talent.

Please don't make me look back through the thread.... any Greeks still in the running?

Katmandu 09-15-2013 10:53 PM

Oklahoma GPhiB

Sciencewoman 09-15-2013 10:53 PM

C'mon Kelsey!!

Sister Havana 09-15-2013 10:54 PM

All but NY are Greek.

UGH. HATE Mallory Hagan's outfit.

TriDeltaSallie 09-15-2013 10:54 PM

Enjoying the comments. I can't access it where I am so I'm following what you are writing here. :)

pbear19 09-15-2013 10:54 PM

This is so nervewracking!!! Kelsey has done great, but I hate that she got such a flippant question.

DDDMomma 09-15-2013 10:55 PM

Fla & Ca - DDD

CA and FL - Tri Delta
MN - Alpha Xi Delta
OK - Gamma Phi

pbear19 09-15-2013 10:56 PM

Ok, now I'm hoping it's Miss CA. Still loved that talent!

TriDeltaSallie 09-15-2013 10:56 PM

Are they close to announcing the next cut?
