I find that so odd that they would reject you because of that. Stupid eharmony. I would say 75-80% of the guys I'm matched with on eharmony state "maybe" as wanting children or not. For me, I want kids. I may sound selfish, but I'm not getting any younger and quite honestly I don't want to waste my time with a guy he "maybe" wants children.

I'm also a wee bit older than you are. :)

I just can't do the whole online dating thing in any way shape or form. There's no romance or mystery in it and I've realized how much I need those things. YMMV.

Agreed 100 percent.

And my man is about to become my ex too, if he doesn't get his lazy ass together. Sounds like PoF should be called PoD for "Plenty of Dogs".

Oooh, Lol now that's bad.

Just wanted to put in my two cents:

I met my fiance on eHarmony. I had heard good things about the website (though I find it sad that they give same-sex couples such a hard time), I have a relative who met her husband on eHarmony, and a few friends who had some success on the site. I'm in a major metropolitan area, so it was relatively easy to get matches in mileage guidelines, but even then, I met my man within a couple of weeks of being on the site. My relative and another friend who met her long-term bf had similar results.

What was appealing to me about the process was that they try to match you on personality. It seemed to make more sense than the randomness of meeting people in bars or the workplace, and I was too busy with my job to be doing a lot of bar-crawling anyway. Another factor is that the service delivers you a handful of matches every morning. It's kind of a time-saver (although communicating with those matches does take a chunk of your time).

My general gist is this:
If you are actively looking for love, then why not give it a shot? At least you don't have to read through hundreds of profiles trying to pick out the good from the bad from the just-looking-for-action, and you wind up knowing a little about these people before you meet them in person.

There will be horror stories with EVERY kind of dating experience, just by nature of how messy dating is. That's just how it is.

Last thing: eHarmony is kind of pricey. If you are looking to try it out, Google for some coupon codes, you can usually get some good deals. I got a 3 month for the price of 1 month deal.

Eharmony to become more "welcoming" to gays and lesbians.
