and of course, all it is is trash talking about sororities for the most part. It's really, really sad, and it shows the true colors of Greek Life at Alabama. :(

The thing about JC is that anyone from any school can post on any given schools website. Many of the things posted on the 'bama site may be people from other schools just trying to make 'bama look bad. Technically I could go onto the 'bama site and pose as a KD and write harsh stuff about other sororities even though I am not a KD and I don't go to 'bama. Also, I heard that they have 'interns' whose job it is to visit the different sites and make provocative posts and try to make things juicier. Don't worry, I don't think that you can put enough stock in JC to say that it reflects the true colors of Greek Life at 'bama or any other school.

This is going to sound a little harsh, but:

Any PNM who goes to that site and takes those comments seriously is a moron, and probably doesn't need to be in a sorority.

i totally agree! i know on greekrank they have a disclaimer at the top of the sororities page that says "Note: Please keep an open mind during rush. Because of the nature of our ranking/comment system, some, or even all of what you see here may not be true, and none of it should be taken literally."

juicycampus you can talk about anything you want. on purdue's and i know other school's there are topics about individual people with their full names. that is stupid

buuttt there are some funny topics tho... like what's the best drunk food or why do all the fraternity houses serve keystone light or who saw that chicken on guy the bus today?

With the exception of the lack of moderation, there is really no difference between a site like juicycampus and greekchat.

Think about it....prospective members have no reason to take what we say seriously, either. We're just people who come to a message board.

That makes me sick to see girls talking about each other like that. Way yo make the Greek system look good.

WOW @ the tone of the gossip when it's about Greeks at HBCUs!

At Indiana State, the fraternities bash on each other worse than the sororities do. Not to sound arrogant, but the Pikes at Indiana State rarely lose in anything, and that has created a lot of drama on JuicyCampus, name calling, minor threats, and some small altercations.

It is embarrassing how childish and (no offense) "girlish" fraternity guys act when openly but anonymously bashing on each other.

There have also been rumors that the university has checked on when it comes to Student-Professor relationships and drug rings that have been started around the Terre Haute area.

I personally want to see JuicyCampus removed, if not from a national standpoint, but at least a Terre Haute/Indiana State University standpoint.

I have friends who work with area PD, and this is something that the cops at my school use to find and bust the places where underage kids are drinking (they've done the same with MySpace & Facebook). It's not too hard to do when 10 people post that they're freshmen and they "just got totally wasted at ____ this weekend and they def have the best parties!!!"

humbleme 12-21-2008 02:14 PM

the juicycampus hype has died down at my university, however at it's prime, a lot of the topics posted were created to "bash" Greek prospects.

it was horrible, and I hoped that this had no effect on an interest's chances of being selected.
