I just found it funny that someone that sells deadly things like cigars and cigarettes, (and i do love both) was worried about a bad image because of a charity.

Let me get this straight. You smoke? Stop being a self-loathing smoker, dude. It's lame.

at our campus, they had free speech day...the president of student government association decided to completely insult our sorority and yell out false information about us....now half the campus is trying to petition to get him out of office(and this wasn't brought about by a sorority member). in our community, most greeks are well respected, so this was a big shock to all of us.

This is so unusual to me. I lurk on many forums. I was even a member at Oink Pink Palace which was an awesome file sharing site. If you know anything about the site (if not read about it on Wiki) the forum rules were strict. The only avatars you could have were cute. They also had very strict policies on threads going off topic.

You can click on any thread on this site that is over 3 pages and read the OP comment and then the third page, never the same topic.

How has this thread gone off topic? The OP is still in the discussion and the nature of the business he brought up is still the main issue.

Yours has been the most off-topic post so far, ironically.

Well, until mine, that is.

From my memory the OP question was:
"Have you ever been discriminated against for being Greek?"
and the thread is now onto:
"You're a hypocrite." "No he's not." "You're a smoker too!"

Notice I intentionally used the word "unusual", not necessarily good or bad.

There is no need to be presumptuous or to attack me. People should really attack the ideas, not the person.

I said that it wasn't a good or bad way to conduct forms. Once again, unusual. If you want to look up the word in Merriam-Webster, you'll see it does not have a negative connotation attached, you just put it in there.

And going further with the idea of being presumptuous, I said it was a file sharing site. How do you know that I did not exchange only copyright free music such as Brad Sucks. Perhaps it was music that free of charge like the new Radiohead album that was released recently?

Perhaps this is the reason why you disagree with the OP comment so much. The store he went into made an assumption about his organization like you are doing now.

This, of course, is just observations.

There will be NONE of that on GreekChat, thank you.

Silly goose, I am using Godwin's Law in hopes that this thread will just DIE DIE DIE. I don't know what Brad Sucks is, but if you're talking about the vaguely Neanderthal looking Brad from that one season of Real World, yes, I agree, he sucks.

Day 13 pay no attention to the bigots who respond. They've obviously been brainwashed already. P.s. Thanks for your work on oink.

1. Off topic. Who cares? As always, it doesn't make sense to announce that a thread appears a little off topic. DUH. Bring it back on topic or stay on the sidelines.
2. Attack the ideas and not the people only works when it isn't perceived that the people have some "problem" that drives their ideas.
3. Something's humorously wrong with 33girl. :p
4. Dionysus extended the olive branch to herself? :( Yikes.

Dionysus 02-18-2008 10:59 PM

The stuff I overlook on these boards sometimes...

I, ummm, do not recall ever extending an olive branch too myself. It may have happened, but I do not remember this.
