Go Reese!
I believe she told me that the Tri-Delts, Chi O's and KD's had
to cut about 440 girls due to the new release figure system? They p/u their invites today at 3:15pm and tonight is Skit Night! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~ Just imagine---midwest NPC's (Not SEC NPC's) releasing over 800 PNM's after 15 minutes of open house. Talk about a need for resume's and pictures! Great posting mom! All the best from one mom to another! TigerOwl I have kept my daughter's thoughts---so don't ever erase your messages from your daughter, they are so sweet to go thru years later! |

If round one cuts were strictly for grades, that would be easy -- You just go down the list. Or, did they have their minds made up before the door song? I went to a school where 1200 went through recruitment. I don't know of any house that cut so many on the first round, and these were houses that only took 30 - 35 in the pledge classes. Either the numbers don't add up, or the PNMs were overly prejudged. |
it that figure is correct, it is not by choice that the chapters cut pnms, but due to release figures from previous years. they have to cut that amount per panhellenic, although they may cut more than that.

What a system.

Go Reese! I hope she gets invites to her faves!!!

I can't get the release figures out of my mind. We know that Tri Delt, ChiO and KD are big. How big? And what is considered small?

im confused
I am not use to this new system that panhellenic has going on during recuitment? The release figures that are given to each chapter are supposed to "balance out the playing field for everyone" in the end?? is that correct?

Yes and in a way it doesn't string some PNMs along who might not be released after first round normally. The numbers that each sorority receives to release is based on their previous years' recruitments, retention rates, and figures like that. I think so far it has worked at Ole Miss. We will see tomorrow when Bid Day comes around how it affected every house. But I have only heard good things so far and tonight at the AOII House when I was helping, we heard that all 9 houses did well so far. |

My daughter's best friend is going through rush at Ole Miss and is anxiously awaiting her bid today. Her number one choice was AOII. She absolutely loved them from day one and nevered wavered. I am keeping my fingers crossed for her. |
