So does Carr get fired during or after the season?

Sister Havana 09-09-2007 10:45 AM

Hope you found the game. Versus is a national cable network. It used to be called The Outdoor Life Network, but changed it's name a few months ago.

We aren't affilliated with them exactly, but their master control point is in the same building we are.

We originated a short halftime report for the game (UNLV is one of our Mountain West schools), which must have been a great one from what I heard.

The cable/satellite carriage of these game is likely to get worse before it gets better. Fans really do need to gang up on their cable/satellite providers because the conferences are going ahead with more of them.

Sorry for the double post.

I found your post pretty funny, and I'm actually kind of a Michigan fan, having lived in Detroit and visited Ann Arbor -- although not a big fan.

Take some comfort in the fact that Ohio State was down to the Akron "Zips" at one point 3-2. Yes, it sounds like a baseball score. (Growing up in Columbus, I'm also a "sort of" Ohio State fan)

I do have a mean streak, though. When my sister-in-law called from Detroit last week, I answered the phone, "Appallachian State Athletic Department."

My prediction for last night's game was

28-10 LSU over Virginia Tech

The final score was 48-7 LSU.

I'll take it! :D Overall, it was a great weekend. I met quite a few wonderful Hokie Fans!

He won't get fired.....but he will either step down on his own or be asked to resign.

NutBrnHair 09-09-2007 03:34 PM

Even though "my" team is 1-1, I am most pleased that Michigan & Notre Dame are both 0-2!

I'm with you there! Unfortunately, since they play each other next week, one of them will be 1-2. But, it's nice that the other will be 0-3. :p

ETA: Although I was pulling for the Hokies, congrats to LSU for an excellently played game. That performance makes me think they should definitely be ranked #1.

VandalSquirrel 09-09-2007 04:26 PM

Boise State has been dropped from all polls and top 25s YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference is one of semantics.

Firing a head coach during the season isn't done very often. It's kind of like forfeiting the rest of the year.

I think he'll "quit" (by mutual agreement -- a lot like being fired) at the end of the season.

And, as a sidebar, the Ohio Bobcats are 2-0 after coming from behind yesterday.

Next is Virginia Tech, which is everyone's sentimental favorite this year -- then Wyoming the week after.

Those should be pretty good tests for an MAC team.

I forgot to add "Ann Arbor is a Whore". Just thinking of all the anti-Michigan things I've heard.

That phone call is pretty funny though.

I can't bare to look.

I've heard that they won't fire him, and that he's planning on retiring soon anyways. I think this will definitely force him into retirement, although I still don't place all the blame on him. Afterall, he graduated from my high school. I still have to be a Carr fan.

Hopefully we beat The Irish next week.
