We just got a Sonic this year out in Turlock (kinda crazy since its a smaller town..Also I'm not sure where there are other ones in Cali). The waiters/waitresses are on roller skates; which I think is cool.
Its kinda overrated out here. But the slushies are pretty yummy!! |

Cherry Limeades are SO AWESOME. When I worked there, I was the cherry limeade pro, lol. Believe it or not they are made with real cherry juice/cherries and real limes. That's why they are the bomb (they are mixed with Sprite). The ocean water is simply Sprite with a splash of some blue syrup flavoring. Try the chicken strip basket...those are pretty good also. |
Their locations around here are hit and miss, i.e., not close. I did like the one that was close to me in Norcross (north Atlanta). With all those desserts to choose from, perhaps it's a good thing one's not close by.

There's one pretty near my house, but I have never seen anyone on skates. My day pretty much is not complete without a lime slush - even in the winter. Boy, those are good!!!
|
Tomorrow I am rolling up the street to my local Sonic and I am going to have a Cherry Limeade... or maybe an Ocean Water. Oh my GOD, I am so glad that someone made this thread! haha I haven't eaten Sonic in a very long time but it is definitely delish. Especially now that it's summer... when I was little, we would always stop for a slushie after going to the pool :)

Sonic is all over North and South Carolina and I love it. Some of my favorites are: Coney dogs, any Toaster sandwhich, corn dogs, Sonic #1 & 2 burgers. If you haven't been, you need to check it out.

I dunno how Sonic could be bad. They're good in Texas at least. That is my fave fastfood place. I LOOOOVe their cheese coney and strawberry lime slush...mmmmm
|
Sonic has been on a huge expansion the past several years, and, frankly, I think some of the older ones are better than the new ones.
Personally, I really like them -- especially the limeaid. And the burgers at the good ones are made like they used to make them back when I was a kid. The ones that still use carhops on rollerskates are great. There is one close to us where a lot of old car buffs "cruise" the drive-in like we used to do way back in the 60's. Overall, I think Sonic is fun. |
I haven't had a Cherry Lime slush in AGES!!!
|
Oh man. Now I'm going to be thinking about chicken fried steak sandwiches and jalapeno poppers all night. Dang. Thanks alot people...and I was doing so good....
(not to mention the chocolate malt w/extra malt) |
Oklahoma City, Sonic Corporation HQ.
We have Sonics everywhere! Great for a fast meal. Food is good and many of them take credit cards! Can't beat a cherry-vanilla Dr. Pepper. |

Burito tasted funky compered to Micky D's tho bigger!!! One of My LXA Brother owns one in Mt. Vernon, Il. He told me to come to his, Dah, In KC! Best Burger, 1106, across from the Beta Chi/LXA house Pittsburg, Ks. Hi- Jack, White Castle Belly Bombers were not the best. Cozy Burgers, Salina, Ks. Try their toasters.
They're also a great place to have fundraisers. Some stores in my area will allow an organization to staff the place for a day and keep all the tips as a fund raiser. |
We have Sonic all over the place. I could live w/o their burgers. But back in high school they had the best grilled cheese (before they starting using texas toast)-- and crispy tots!! Yum!!
I really like their chicken strips, tots are good--- but no one makes a Cherry Dr Pepper like Sonic does!!!! yummmm!!!!!! -wendi |
I don't know what the deal with Sonic is... lately every single time I go to get a banana split, they are pretty much already melted when I get them :(
I don't think it's *that* hot in Texas! |
