Am I the only one wondering how in the world Miss Tanzania would wear a tiara?

Or that Miss Slovenia looked a little too porn-star-ish?

i think miss tanzania is stunning, but many of those girls had extremely porn-star-esque pics (i went to the miss universe site to see the faces close up). lips parted, hair messily swept across their faces, half-shut eyes...it was tacky.

well thank you :) i actually wasn't very impressed by her (she looks a bit too non-indian for my taste), but the entire country is celebrating the fact that she made it to the top 10, because it's the first time in 7 years. we've been having a bit of a dry-spell after the sweeps of the early 90s.

eta: i agree about her evening dress. it's not that attractive. indian style has so much potential for absolutely stunning evening wear (whether western, fusion, or indian) as her opening national dress outfit demonstrated...sigh.

I totally agree that Miss Tanzania rocked the house (especially in comparison to some unnamed others), but I still would like to know how she would have worn a tiara. Those things are really jammed and pinned into your hair!

the asians cleaned house this year. i think they won all the awards this time around (photo, congenial, and crown).

I'm sorry but Miss China get a thumbs down! ugh! She is not cute!
