In the Divine 9, we don't have any coed sororities or fraternities so therefore, there is no such thing as a "male sorority member" in Alpha Kappa Alpha, nor in any other sorority in the Divine 9. Further, how can you be a male sorority *member* if you're not a *member*. Would you refer to the dudes trying to call themselves members of Delta Sigma Theta as your "male sorority members"? Of course not. B/c they are not. So why use the term when it comes to Alpha Kappa Alpha?

There are male "Deltas" and male "AKAs." That title makes it all the more hilarious and unofficial.

Everyone have a drink and quit worrying about this nonsense.

No, I was telling her that everyone knows they aren't sorority members. So when we call them "male sorority members," it's out of jest. So she needs to get over it.

Ladygreek, I don't know if she was agreeing with me or not. My concern is moreso with just communicating my point as opposed to trying to figure out if someone is being facetious. I tend to read emails only for a few minutes and then I go back to whatever I was really doing (b/c usually I'm not just actually sitting at the computer on Greekchat, I peek in for a minute) so if someone is saying something facetiously, I may not even be paying enough attention to those types of nuances to even get all that.
Thanks though,
SC

DSTChaos, I will decide what I need to get over.
But thanks.

These male sorority members will decide that.

None of these discussions about them have stopped their MAC lipgloss from flowing.

Weren't MiAKA and Delta Beaux/Gent ( ) started as men who had a love for AKA and DST and wanted to help out just like sweethearts help the frats? Weren't many of them men who dated AKAs and Deltas? That's what I was told.

I never had respect for one-letter organizations...and I'm sure I'm alone with that idealogy. However, even when those organizations are embraced, they're exactly as you've pointed out, DSTCHAOS - as a group of men/women who have love for a particular organization.

I wonder if this began as a dare? Or....perhaps a group of AKAs decided this would be cute? Nevertheless, my question is:

WHY WOULD YOU PUT YOUR BUSINESS ON CAMERA?

Is it common sense to have proof in the midst of wrongdoing? Or perhaps the AKAs didn't see anything wrong with this?

This is wild. I wonder what NPHC has to say.... I wonder what the AKA headquarters has to say!!

Someone Defending This Craziness????

OK...I open my email and a bruh forwarded this email. I'm not sure about its legitimacy, but I know my bruh didn't write it. I copied and pasted it below:

Response to the MIAKA pictures floating around the Internet:

My name is Carl Brown II and I am a proud member of MIAKA, Inc. and have been for since Spring 2000. My lovely line – The 11 Dreams of PINK and GREEN pledged 8 weeks, 6 days, 14 hours and 27 seconds before we were accepted into the illustrious organization that is MIAKA at Prairie View A&M University. It was such a joyous time to learn about the original 16 and the other Soror Founders and to finally sing "Hail, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Dear." I love Alpha Kappa Alpha and always will and I wear my Pin proudly.

But it dismays me to see such negativity at my neophytes down in Houston, TX. Why all the hate? We are here to serve our communities and as black people haven't we had enough hate in our lives. My line sorors and I are very active in the Houston community and we are still in touch with each other. But to listen to all the disrespect that you say the MIAKAs do to Alpha Kappa Alpha is craziness.

(Prays to Soror Founder Ethel Hedgeman Lyle for the inspiration to type)….

Anyhow…I recently read one of these tired comments from a "soror" saying that the MIAKAs would not be at the Centennial in 2008. Well you better believe that my chapter sorors and myself as well a MIAKA sorors from around the globe will be at the Chapel on Howard's campus singing the hymn and leaning on the Shield!

In the Spirit of AKA I pray that we can all be civil and be of service to all mankind! Hate is not the answer!

If there is anyone who wants to get in touch with me, please email me at cbrown1908_miaka@yahoo.com AND I will respond. Be blessed and an ear-piercing skeee-weee to all my MIAKA and AKA sorors!

I am at a TOTAL loss for words! Lawd, please don't let these fools actually believe they will be welcome at our functions. This boy did not refer to my founder as "his" founder. How embarrassing! I tried not to let this foolishness bother me, but it makes me MAD AS HAYLE!! I am trying to accept people, but this is too much.

Why make disparaging comments regarding the Ques?

Real mature.

I'm with you on that one, Pinkie...I'm embarassed for your organization, as well. Sad thing is, if they're this brazen with the AKA letters, I'm sure they're equally brazen with my letters.....

It's called a JOKE. Don't get it twisted, the Ques are good enough for me, thanks. ;)

By the way.....you have a couple dozen posts under your belt so far. I've been on this site since 2001, so perhaps you're not aware of my sense of humor yet. Just observe, and you'll see that I'm mostly harmless.

Now that you've pointed out the fact that you've been on the board since 2001, I suppose I should alert all other newcomers to carefully scan seasoned members, so as to not "get it twisted", as I have.

Your humor is not funny. ... but be that as it may, I come in peace. Instead of studying your "history" on this site, I'd rather just ignore you.

*Mute*

Thanks....
