Good luck! Vandy has some great chapters.
|
Good luck!
re: recs--it sounds like Baylor's rush is a lot like Vandy's, and the chapter that wanted me in the end didn't have a rec for me after rush week. I'm pretty sure KD's national policy requires recs, so I ended up having the reference chair approach me after rush to get the info to have someone else write it for me. Sometimes Panhellenic's policy actually works, so I don't think you're going in too bad off. Again, good luck! When does formal rush start? |

Hey Almost64! I rushed back in August, it's a great way to meet people and find true friends that become your sisters. My best friend from high school is going through formal recruitment right now, so I know how stressed you may be getting. Just follow the advice you read on here, be yourself, and go to the house where you can call the girls your sisters and it will work out. Good luck!!

Good luck today!

We were driving around campus today looking for a parking spot at the bookstore because it had spontaneously gotten nastily cold and rainy around lunchtime. At all the houses, the rushees were lined up outside waiting for their next parties, many without umbrellas. Poor things! :( I hope rush is going well for you and you are keeping dry!

Good luck, Almost64!

How did it go, Almost64? I read elsewhere that today is bid day. Did everything work out like you had hoped?
Good luck! |
Hope things went the way you were hoping, Almost64.
My daughter has three friends at Vandy...two are TriDelts and one is an Alpha Chi. Another bit regarding recs--when three girls from my daughter's HS class ended up preffing ZTA at UGA, the woman who wrote my daughter's ZTA rec called and asked me about them so she could supply recs before pref in case any of them were offered/took a bid. She was the alum "assigned" to our HS. (One of the three ended up a Zeta.) |

actually, it seems like a recommendation once removed. as in, that active sister cannot write the rec because she's rushing for her chapter, so she gets an alum to do it. and it also seems like a loophole in pushing for one PNM over another. in any case, i feel like inthe case where this happens, the rec would hold less weight because of its spur-of-the-moment nature, and moreso, because the PNM doesnt know anything about it. ETA: in reading these recruitment stories as an NPHC member, im just trying to understand how NPC works, so please let's not make this an NPC vs. NPHC debate. that'stotally not my intention. |

NEWS: Freshmen receive bids to Panhellenic sororities
Submitted by Allison Malone on 01-14-07, 11:27 pm | Updated on 01-14-07, 11:31 pm Retention rate lower than in years past Vanderbilt's 10 Panhellenic sororities offered invitations to 434 women Sunday at the annual Bid Day event in the Student Recreation Center. ... Rest here: http://www.insidevandy.com/drupal/node/2411 (It was so cute today - all the new members are wearing their bid day shirts and I can't tell you how many conversations I overheard about buying white dresses.) |
