I don't think doing anything before going to bed is relevant. If I wake up in a strange place, I obviously wasn't thinking about hangover prevention.

If I'm aware enough to do so, I drink a nalgene of water or a liter of gatorade before going to bed and take an aleve. This is rare, and I usually only think ahead like this if I have to get up and study or drive or something. Rehydration is key though, obviously.
A much more important consideration is how you prepare yourself to drink the next day. Those of you who did college right probably know what I'm talking about, where you get hammered, and have to get up and drink the next morning (football games, formal weekends, spring break). Sometimes those first few beers can be pretty painful, but you've got no choice. |
Has anybody ever tried those Chaser things? They're like pills you take before you start drinking. When I was living in England they were everywhere. I haven't really seen them much here.

For those who don't know what they are, here's a link. I usually order em online from drugstore.com, but you can get a pack of 10 at any GNC for about $7. |
I don't drink much anymore, but last time I really got bombed there were several rounds of shots towards the end of the night made from Jaeger and Red Bull. I did maybe 5-6 of these after an evening of beer, Crown and cokes, and most of a bottle of Dom Perignon.
Felt great the next morning- like the night before had never happened. I figure it had to be the Red Bull since that combination of spirits should have left me pretty sick the next day. |
haha, was this the alumni event? I was really sad that I missed out on that.

You know, we should get all this info together and write a book with the insights of mutual Greeks...and if the Greeks don't know how to cure a hangover, who the hell does?? Seriously, if one of our chat is a publisher, let us do it and then donate the funds to a worthy cause like (no joke...)Mothers against drunk driving....to show our interests in philantrophy et al.
but meanwhile, we might also be able to formulate an universal cure for the hangover and what better time than around the Holidays?? so season's greetings to all on our Greek Chat and may all your toasts be painless and all the kisses beneath the mistletoe FANTASTIC!! |
We can donate the money to me :) I must have done one of yalls prevention things because I just woke up (on the floor of my pledge brothers house) and I feel fine!
Once, I had the hangover hit me hours after I woke up, which would explain why I still feel drunk, so I'm drinking plenty of water now. I think the gatoraid before bed, or even after you wake up is the cure. The new focus: Getting shit back that you loose! I can't find my cell phone! Any funny stories of finding stuff weeks later? |

I heard tomato juice or V8 is good for you, so once, during a vodka induced hangover (aka: pure living torture.) I tried it. Only served to bring me upon my knees before the Great White God. Advil and Gatorade saved my skin.
Though I've known people that had to tomatoe juice thing work for them. |
