I just heard this yesterday and still can't believe it! Gerald was one of my favorite singers. My hubby proposed to me with the LSG song "Look how long we've been around" playing in the background and that was our first dance at our wedding. I also got to interview Gerald backstage for my high school paper. He was a sweetheard. I am just totally shocked. No one saw this coming!

OMG I didn't know until I saw this! I loved Gerald Levert :(
Gonna crank up Casanova in his memory today I am just stunned |
BET has been showing his cameo appearances all day from Bobby Jones Gospel to The Parkers.
:( |
BETJ had specials on yesterday, unfortunately I missed them. :( They MUST show them again this week.
ETA: I know Jack Palance passed away, but I really got it in 3s. Ed, Gerald, and yesterday a soror's husband who was only 43. He was our church's minister of music. :( :( |
I also know that BET did a tribute to him during their Late (formely Midnight Love) show and that TVOne showed his apperance on the Tom Joyner Sky Show a few months ago.

Turn on your radio
Monique is hosting a really nice tribute to G-Bear on Michael Baisden's show right now.

The first time a boy ever asked me to dance, it was to one of his songs. :) He'll always have a special place in my heart.

Gerald Levert, seemed to be a genuine man to those that actually knew and loved him for who he was.
And for us fans, the voice, the grinding, the chubbiness is what we loved about this man. He made women of all ages know what a grown ass man was. Love U G! We gotta take a stand against these health disparities, because ultimately WE---US-----are losing.... |
I loved Gerald LeVert also. Some of my all time fav jams are from him.
He always seemed to be an extremely nice person and you never heard anything about him being involved in any mess. You never saw him in any these magazines acting a fool. Very sad loss for the music industry and most definatley for the African American Community.:( :( |

Has anyone heard anything about this? I still can't believe he's gone. I was a true fan of his.
