Gluttony is a lack of self-control.

Screw you all, now I'm wicked craving Indian food. It's my absolute favourite cuisine. And I haven't eaten today and ugh...

This probably isn't helping then, but I'm craving a Mango Lassi right now.

I haven't gotten into Indian food that much but what I do like about it hasn't given me an Indian buffet craving.

I do Greek buffets, though. Only because the buffet is $10 cheaper than just getting the regular meal. Plus, I get a gym discount because it's considered a "healthy buffet." I don't end up overeating but I enjoy occasionally getting a couple plates of the taziki(sp) and spinach pie after my workouts.

Mmm this thread makes me want Indian food too. Lucky for me, my mom is Indian and is a fantastic cook; she makes the best Indian food. I hated Indian food growing up b/c that's all I ever got to eat, things that everyone else got to eat like Hamburger Helper or tuna casserole or balogna sandwiches sounded awesome b/c I never had them. Then I got to college and tried that stuff....eww. Thank goodness for my mom and her awesome culinary skills. ;)

Also KLPDaisy, the Jackson Diner in Jackson Heights sometimes has a lunch buffet. Their food is some of the best Indian food ever, besides mom's of course, (which makes sense, since the neighborhood is populated by mainly Indian people...including my grandpa!). Have you ever been there? If not, you should definitely hit it up sometime.

As for other buffets, no way. I just can't do them anymore after the Chinese buffet in Columbia got shut down due to their 49 or so health violations  a few summers ago. And places like Golden Corall or wherever else never appealed to me. And after the stories on here, ewwwwww.

My best friend lives in Jackson Heights. She heard such great things about the Jackson Diner that she went there. Apparently she and her friends didn't like any of it. I had to literally drag her into Indian Taj after that. She loved it and said that it was about 10 times better than Jackson Diner.

I have an acquaintance who used to hook us up with free, really good Indian food (his family owned a restaurant). I can't go anymore because it costs me money, and the food isn't nearly as good.

This talk of Indian food makes me want to drive to MA just for the restaurant.

In mourning since they closed the Dallas area Todai... :( If I gotta do my Todai fix, I gotta drive to Houston.

Slop troughs - ahem, buffets - vary in quality. If you find one that serves good food at a reasonable price, stick to it!

I am very upset with the Todai's in Manhattan. Crab legs aren't standard fare. Only during special times. Very sad.

Oh god, where in MA? I know one great Indian place up here, Monsoon in Maynard, that's it. I'm always looking for others.
