Then they probably will be able to check you in as I stated. Unless you're going cross country, chances are good that you'll be in a smaller aircraft. Makes for interesting conversation!

It's prop planes that get to me. I absolutely abhor flying to another city on business, and showing up with a HUGE headache!! Not a good first impression!

When I flew LGA-Cleveland the plane had only 3 seats in each row. I was in the single seat that was both a window and an aisle seat. I felt like I was flying in a Fisher-Price plane.

Or for a better opportunity to take a nap! :p I hate small talk on the plane.

"So, are you from ____? I'm from ____! Who were you here to visit? Where are you going? I hate flying, don't you? It makes me so nervous! Do you want some gum? I have some gum, I hear it helps!"

blah blah blah blah blah!

Warning - this post is about to expose how incredibly neurotic I am.

I'm getting ready to fly for the first time in about seven years. I've flown several times, but not since 9/11 and never alone. Now that I live in DC, 500 miles away from my family, I'm going to be flying a lot more often. I'm not at all worried about the actual flight - it's only an hour and a half. I'm just nervous about the new security measures, checking in, checking my luggage, possibly missing my flight, etc. Any advice to make getting on the plane go smoothly?

While going thu some of my travel sits, found this page which seems to answer your question:
http://www.airsafe.com/issues/security.htm
Note: Last update to this page on site was Nov 2005
Some of the other sites I gave are very up to date.

Private Jets are the way to go. Particularly a Gulfstream G550 or a Citation CJ1(for the shorter trips)

No hassle involved.

Perhaps, but I know that MLB teams, which fly charters gave the players the same TSA regs that the public fly under....

O wow, I've never heard that before!

What luck... TSA announced yesterday that starting today you can bring sample sizes in your carry on. So yay for not having to check bags! I just didn't want to check a bag for a one night trip... rather have my stuff on me.

Planning on getting to the airport plenty early because you know it could be a zoo being that rules have changed...

Didn't miss it, but when I went to it when I first saw the link I didn't see the changes.

I got to the terminal a little after 9, went through security and was out here at the gates by 9:30. Pretty easy. Have to have your liquids in a separate baggy set out from the rest of your stuff. No problems at all.

Though as always, the TSA staff doesn't even know the rules. I overheard one of them saying- you can take as many liquids as you want as long as they're in 3oz or less sized containers. According to the rules, it's supposed to all fit comfortably in a quart sized bag.

So now I have all kinds of time to kill before we even board. Thankfully there's wireless, and lots of stores to shop in!

Sample sizes of what? Can you bring lotion and stuff? That's awesome.
