That's funny about the shuffle.. me too! I always thought I would never use the shuffle option, but that's all I use now. I like when each album is mixed up and you never know what's coming next. I'm absolutely addicted to my ipod. I use it at work, and I've found I write better when listening to music. I've just discovered the free podcast downloads. I'm learning Spanish. |
A few days ago, I read this entire thread. Didn't know I'd be needing help later!
I purchased my daughter the cute pink iPod nano for Christmas (4G). I loaded about 24 songs on there for ME but noticed that I only had about 1.97G left. So I finally got around to calling the Apple folks and I reset it. Seems like for some reason, the memory was wacky! So I took it back yesterday and got a refund. I will probably go ahead and get the 30G video iPod since as many of you have noted, you're getting about 7 times as much for $50 more. What I wanted to know is has anyone else had a problem with the memory on their iPods? The Circuit City guy told me yesterday that he's seen one or two cases of this happening and it was with the pink iPod (don't know why he thinks the color had anything to do with it, but oh well). Next question - are there free areas for podcasts, etc.? As are a few of you, I'm an iPod virgin as well. Thanks in advance! |

My shuffle is no longer recognized by my computer :(
I got the 30gig video, but I still wanted to use my shuffle because the video is too big for workout use. At least it still has music on it and still works. I just can't put anything new on it. |
Does anyone know if the Nike+ attachment will work with an old school mini? Mine's about 3 years old, and I wanted to upgrade to a video iPod, but I heard the Nike+ only works with the Nano. Didn't know if it applied to the mini, too. Does anyone use Nike+? Would it be worth it for me to buy a Nano instead of the video so I can use it? I'm starting to train for a 10-miler and I think it could be helpful.

The same thing happened with my iPod mini. I did extensive searching on the internet and I found a bunch of stuff about how the new upgrade to iTunes could cause that problem, so I figured mine was toast...until I dropped it, and suddenly my computer recognized it again. I don't know what was up, but you probably shouldn't try that "fix" for yours...unless you're brave. |

Why do you want it? To keep you on pace, for heart rate, or milage? I would suggest getting a good watch instead. But thats just me. And becareful about getting too relied on music. Most races don't allow headphones on the course. Many officals choose to ignore that rule, but especially if you in the top of the runners, they might get picky. And please please please tell me... you aren't going to be running in the street with headphones on, are you? It would make me :( I've seen runners get hurt that way. |

My friend has been running for years and she got the Nike+ attachment for Christmas and loves it. She doesn't have the shoes though - she just cut off the finger of an old knit glove and put the chip in there. She sewed up the top and put it underneath her insole. |
Yeah, I have a video iPod and I wish I could use the Nike + system for mine. I've heard all really good reviews. The video iPod is far, far too bulky to run with (I swear it's slowed me down!) and I'd like to have something to listen to while I train (indoor track).

I'm thinking about getting one of the refurbished 4g Nanos. If I get that, an armband, and the Nike+, it costs about $10-15 more than the new 4g Nano. I might go check out the local running shop to see what they have to say about it, too. I'm sure someone there has used it. Thanks for all the advice, everyone :) |
