It sounds like she is having and incredible week! Best of luck to her in finding her home!!
|
I will be sitting here on pins and needles waiting to find out her new home -
Oh yea BamaDad and BamaMom - Don't have a parent "freakout" when your daughter calls you crying - because like someone said before - when you put an 18 year old into these - emotional situations - then you are going to hear and see tears - she could be crying because she liked all three houses - or she could be crying because she LOVEEEDDDD one house SOSOOOO much more then the other two - or she could be crying because she is soo worried about EVERYTHING - (come on you know how 18 year old young ladies can be) - and a little bit of the inside scoop - the sororities don't mind a few tears at the pref night ceremony - it shows them that the pnm is emotionally invested - hard to explain to dad but mom might understand. THANKS FOR THIS WONDERFUL THREAD |

BamaDad and BamaMom--great way to approach your daughter's recruitment. Exactly what I and DaddyOwl did when our daughter went thru in 2004 at a large greek school. Daughter flew thru recruitment with a "perfect recruitment" and picked the best house for her. Today we are the proud parents of the President of her chapter! She continued the tradition in our family of choosing a different sorority! I know your daughter is enjoying herself right now during the serious night at 'Bama. What a thrill for all of you. May it continue to be exciting thru her bid day tomorrow. |
This is a great thread. My parents were apathetic to antipathetic (especially my mother, who disdains the fact that both my sister and I are Greek, but hates the fact that I'm NPC even more) about my Greek experience, so it's great to hear from a parent who is genuinely excited about Recruitment!
I wish Bama put their bid list up like Auburn did. I wrote 5 Bama recs and I want to know where my girls went! |
This is one of my favorite recruitment threads, ever.
Best of luck to BamaDaughter, I can't wait to hear the news! |
Ladies, I have to tell you, it was easier waiting for the results of my bar exam than it is waiting to see whether my daughter receives a bid! My stomach nerves are as agitated as when I'm standing before the jury waiting to give an opening statement. I slept so fifully last night that I watched "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein" during a Bela Lugosi marathon. My consolation is that BamaMom slept just as miserable. No doubt, BamaDaughter has had her share of butterflies too!

Since we have to wait until tomorrow to find out the results, can you at least humor us a little and tell us what houses she preffed?! Since she likes all of them I don't think it would offend anyone and I think we're all dying to know!

Well, BamaDaughter said today went great! Due to superstition, she said she cannot tell us her order of preference. I still have a sneaky feeling things likely stayed the same, but one never knows. If I had a dollar for every time I was wrong (especially picking jury members)....
I will obviously tune in to let everyone know how it goes with BamaDaughter. She is ordering take-in and praying for the heavens above to convert her dorm shower into a luxury bathtub. better luck next time, sweetie. But don't worry - Daddy still looves you lots! Roll Tide! |
Best wishes to BamaDaughter! :) :D

I have loved reading this rush thread! Good luck to BamaDaugher! May she find a wonderful greek home tomorrow!! :D

The Univ. of Alabama's news bureau will post a list of who pledged where. I would not be surprised if it is up first thing Monday morning...or even Sunday night. If Zillini doesn't post the link, I will. As far as I know, Alabama and Auburn are the only schools that do this. If they don't, they quickly hear from hundreds of alums! How sad that your Mom is so antagonistic about being in an NPC group. Why does that even matter? |
Have both sides - pnm and sorority - completed their input into the magic computer, or are the sororities still debating their selections?
