Frankly I think Indiana as a state should win this one....

Indiana State University- Sycamores, I swear they are named for trees!

Wabash College- Little Giants

My high school was the Bulldogs, normal tell you hear this, the dance team was the Bulldolls, the swim team the Bullfrogs and Lady Bullfrogs. As swimmers our coach gave us frogs as good luck charms one year.

We were the Bulldogs in high school too.

My soccer team refused to be called the Lady Bulldogs. We decided that if we were going to be something "feminine" it was going to be the Bitches.

Clearly, we remained the Bulldogs ;)

And did I miss it, or has no one mentioned the Presbyterian College (Clinton, SC) Blue Hose?

I have a fondness for the Centre College Prayin' Colonels. Prayin' Colonels, I bet that strikes fear in the hearts of competitors.

Rhode Island School of Design chose the Nads for their mascot. I don't know what a Nad is, but I can hear the chant "Go, ---s, go!"

As far as I know, the only kind of Nad I could think of couldn't be displayed in front of small children.

That would indeed be the meaning of the nickname. (Didn't "Go, Nads!" tip you off?)

But it's only the hockey team that is the Nads, as I understand it. The basketball team is "the Balls."

Meanwhile, the cheerleaders are "the Jockstraps," because they support the Nads and the Balls.

Gotta love those designer types.

Point conceded, but I'm not making this stuff up. (And I didn't even mention the mascot -- "Scrotie.")

The Providence Phoenix: Athletic Support and

RISD Sports at Wikipedia.

I think these are correct for these schools:
Sweetbriar College: the Vixens
Meredith College: the Angels
Campbell University: the Camels
