Word. Regular pants are always too short on me and the longs drag the ground. I usually get longs and get them hemmed. I also get my button down shirts tailored to avoid the tent look, since my boobs are proportionately larger than my waist.

ETA- It's not that I don't support the plight of petites, I just don't think that their problem is that much worse than anyone else's.

I'm 5'2 1/2" but my body is proportionately longer than my legs, so all pants are long on me. What I do, to avoid having to hem pants (at least summer pants) is buy capri's or crop pants. They fit me like regular pants, problem solved!

That's also true of clothing in other countries. I'm normal sized here (5'3" with shoes on, size 8 or 10), but when I was in Taiwan, it was so hard to find a shirt. We had to go to a couple different shops until we finally found one that had an extra large shirt. When my mom went to China, she said the sizes in China run even smaller than in Taiwan. She couldn't find anything that fit her. She's about 5'1" and a size 2 or 4.
I forgot to add that my mom did find a solution. She got a few custom-made pieces. Chinese-made fabric is really cheap (imported stuff is another story), and the seamstresses are very affordable and most do very good work. My mom got black dress pants made for about $12 each (fabric and labor). So maybe everyone should go out and befriend a Chinese international student, and when she goes home for break, have her take your measurements with her. :p  :D

I know most federated stores carry INC and they make almost all their stuff in Petite sizes, and it's not ugly or outdated styles either.
I'm only 5'1 PLUS I have proportionately short legs, so pants are ALWAYS too long, as are sleeves... I hem and roll and shop petite when available. I actually think it's harder if you're super tall because you can't really make pants longer, but I can pretty much always hem mine up.

I think everyone thinks that there problem is worst whether it is being petite, plus sized, or tall. And having friends of all sizes I can definately say that all of our problems are equal. I love going shopping, but I rarely find stuff that fits correctly.

I don't know that anyone but Taualumna thinks they have it the worst... everyone else is agreeing that pretty much all women have problems finding things that fit them well, because there are so many different body types of women!

Petites have the option of hemming or otherwise altering their clothes... I can't add fabric!

I love threads like this because the skinny and fat girls fight each other. MEOW MEOW!!

I have a solution to all of your problems. Just stop wearing clothes.

Except you Kddani. Your fair skin will blind us all. Please, spare our eyes and wear clothes.

I think tall girls have it better than petite girls. If you're like 5'7'' or taller (or weigh more than 200 lbs.) and can't find clothing your size, then why don't you just shop in the guys' section?

I'm joking...

That's a good point. I'm 5'1 and have wide hips so of course I have problems, but I guess I'm just used to hemming my pants or buying capris that turn out sort of normal length, lol. It really isn't a big deal to me.

you guys are special...

Average heighted people who are a little bigger on top and/or bottom have it MUCH EASIER than us shorties. All you have to do is look. For us shorties, pants still don't fit properly if we buy the best brands and hem them up (which often cost $$$) because the rise is too long and they look baggy on us. People have suggested that shorties buy capris, but if you're 5'2, regular capris would look half way between capris and regular pants. And the rise will still be too long. Suit jackets are a problem too...
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE IT MUCH EASIER THAN YOU DO? I'm serious. How do you know that? Okay so you have problems with pants. Great. I have problems with shirts. They often have these length problems that seem so terrible to you -- by the time they cover the boobs, there's not enough left to cover the midriff! And suit jackets! And skirts, because they're often designed for women with "child bearing hips," and my hips ain't birthin' no child, thanks. So OMGWTF I have it worse than everybody! Larger girls can just wear mumus! OMG! And short girls can buy skirts and pull them up to their armpits and pass them off as dresses! See?! I'm so jealous! If I wear something fitted, I look like a porn star! And if I wear something baggy, it looks like a tent! OH NOES!

Nobody is as worked up about this as you are because the rest of us realize that we ALL HAVE PROBLEMS.
