I was a little confused and disturbed by the car scene as well. I wonder how the whole neighbor accross the street scenario will play out. Think she will found out about them?

kiml122 04-28-2006 10:44 PM

This is my show...my co-worker talk about it each week.

I wasn't sure what to expect when it firwt aired...but I am hooked. Nikki and her prairie dressing and that single braid in her hair, andsince she has no job, and doesn't go any where, why does she need to do all that shopping. Since I have no credit card debt, it is blowing me away that this chick with no job has $58k nin credit card debt.....all I have to say is ROMAN is creepy, and Alby is loco

firecracker08 05-01-2006 11:43 AM

Wow....Roman got gangsta and put everyone out of the compound. That has to stink.

Why is Frank telling Roman about Bill?

I don't think they are going to settle anything between Bill and Roman this season.

Finally, Margene only fussed about them ladies scratching her car! I would have went off!

Sounds like a good episode. I'll have to watch it on i-control later and get back to y'all.

Frank is looking out for Frank. He is a tryin' to be hustler and a NASTY one at that. Exactly how trifling do you have to be to pee in the kitchen sink? That mug would would never eat at my table much less come in my house.

I was cracking up when the Roman's wives jumped Bill and when his father was barking at his mother at the kitchen table. Too funny.

Bruce Dern is definitely playing his part as Frank. He is HILARIOUS!

What I want to know is why does Bill have so much contempt for Frank? What happened between them when Bill was living on the compound?

aopirose 05-01-2006 01:28 PM

Frank had Bill put off of the compound when he was 14. He drove him into the city and dropped him off and told him to never come back. Bill was homeless and alone. Bill confronted him about this 2 episodes ago. Frank said that it is what the old guys do. Drive off the young men so that they can have the young girls to themselves. Frank also was responsible for doing alot of Roman's dirty work to erase the Hendrickson's authority from Juniper Creek. Bill's mom is the granddaughter of JC's founder.

On a related topic, Montel had 3 young men on his show not long ago. They were from a polygamus sect and described how they were run out too. The youngest was 12 at the time. They found their way to a sort of group home that helps kids in this situation. IIRC, two of the guys are now in college and the third is going to be a HS senior.

 WOW!!! Gotta go back and look at the previous episodes!

firecracker08 05-01-2006 01:34 PM

When Bill became a teenager, his father and Roman I believe made him leave the compound. Apparently, that's when the competition between the old men and the younger ones starts up for starting families. Of course there are young women but the young men don't get to marry them b/c of the old men i.e. Roman's 15 year old wife.

i just caught the 1st episode "on demand," I'll definitely try to catch up on this series. I really want to see character development for Sarah (oldest daughter). Seems like a good show!

I'm so glad not to be alone

I thought I was the only person watching this show. I just now mosied (sp) over here and found this thread. I love the show.

I don't think Roman actually but the family off of the compound. I think it was orchestrated by Roman and Frank to give Frank an opportunity to get close to Bill and get info for Roman.

I didn't see the car scene that everyone is talking about and now it makes me sad that I no longer have digital cable because I switched to DirecTV, whoa is me.

I can't wait to watch next week's episode when Bill finds out about Nikki's debt.

Oh BTW, Nikki's brother did tell her (unless it was just a clip from on upcoming episode) that the only reason Bill married her is because Roman made him as part of their business arrangement.

Co-sign! And, that's saying something given that I'm "so-so" on the Beach Boys and the whole "surfer sound". I actually started to love this song when it was played at the end of one of my favorite movies: Love Actually. :)

Joss Stone also made a remake of it for a compilation CD of cover songs specially made for the Gap. :D
