OR...the email I got today - and soon to be a bumper sticker (if not already available somewhere on the internet):

"I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than driving with Ted Kennedy"

Let's just cross that bridge when we come to it.

I wish the news would stop reporting on this story. People need to let it go.

The guy is not dead.

There are more important things going on in the world that probably matter more than the amount of time it took Cheney to call the Corpus Christi Caller Times.

You know, I say we let them talk.
Or rather, we let them rant. How irrelevant is this in the big picture? All they have done is go over the moon on revealing their blind hatred for the current Administration. They've proved the point of those who say they are biased. Could there even be a shadow of a doubt?

Do we not care more that oversight of six of our largest ports will be taken over by a group from Dubai?

Do we not care more that 20 servicemen just died in a chopper crash off the African coast?

Ramping up nuclear capabilities in Iran?

None of these could be just slightly more important than a hunting accident?

The newsprint press, along with the TV talking heads, are dinosaurs. How many of us still watch the evening network news? How many instead get their news from the Internet or cable TV?

They're melting.....

The shooting is secondary to the perception of keeping the story away from the American public.

By the way, the last time I checked (which was during the political conventions), the lowest rated evening network newscast still had more viewers than all of the cable news networks combined.

That won't always be the case, but it's not a good idea to underestimate the reach of the broadcast networks.

On the other hand, I agree that any of the stories you mention are huge. Aren't they getting covered, too?
