Yeah you guys are right.... no one at UK owns nice clothing. Every single girl in a sorority wears Abercrombie.

Why is it so hard to believe that young women own designer clothing??? It's not THAT expensive... it's not like they're running around in haute couture gowns all day.

Maybe everybody should wear the abayas to rush. Nobody can see what the PNMs look like (face OR body), and we can't check out the clothes. Of course the girl with the expensive abaya made out of silk will still have an edge over the girl wearing one made from cotton.

Better yet, school uniforms....

Then when they leave the house, they wear, say, A&F and carry knock-off designer handbags. That would explain the differing POVs about the fashion climate at UK. Because no one really knows what's going on in another sorority's house :)
Oh, well, darn...I guess the secret's out now! :p

For everyone else--the way I read her original post, KillarneyRose was talking about not believing the girls who post on message boards claiming to only wear designer clothes because non-designer stuff is, like, soooooooooo 'unfratty.' I don't believe them, either. She did not say that no girl in college wears designer clothes. Correct me if I'm wrong, KillarneyRose? Sure, I knew some people at UK who did own a few designer pieces. But they were by no means dripping in designer duds, and they were definitely in the minority. Hell, even the most hoity-toity of girls in my rush group only had Kate Spade.
