We know there are 7 Horcruxes. Can you name them all?

ZTABullwinkle 11-03-2005 01:12 PM

Okay..Let's try this....
#1 - The Gaunt Ring (DESTROYED)
#2 - Riddle's Diary (DESTROYED)
#3 - Nagini, the snake
#4 - Slytherin's Locket, stolen by R.A.B (which some have speculated is the locket that wouldn't open from the glass cabinet in Book Five)
#5 - Helga Hufflepuff's Cup
#6 - An item of Rowena Ravenclaw's or an item of Godric Gryffindor's.

Nuber 7 hasn't been revealed, but many people think that Harry is one, ecause of the scar.

If placed in front of a mirror, the inscription on the Mirror of Erised ("Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on whosi") reads what???,

We think there are seven Horcruxes, or at least that there were supposed to be seven, because Dumbledore thought so. But we're not sure the seventh one was actually made.

Into what House was Minerva McGonagall sorted when she was a student at Hogwarts? What famous wizard was one of her school mates (different House, different year)?

Ok, sorry for the hijack, but I thought I would toss in what I found on muggle net about the horcruxes:

Voldemort's soul is probably in 7 pieces and there are seven books. What if one piece were hidden in each book?
Book 1 = Voldemort is introduced (the last part of his soul in him)
Book 2 = Riddle's diary
Book 3 = ?
Book 4 = Voldemort's snake, Nagini
Book 5 = The locket in Sirius's house
Book 6 = Marvolo's ring
Book 7 = ?

Interesting thought at least.... And I STILL don't think Harry is one. ;)

/End hijack

One if very likely Helga Hufflepuff's cup.
The last one would likely be something that belonged to either Gryffindor or more likely, Rowena Ravenclaw since the only thing still around that belonged to Gryffindor is the sword...at least we think it's the only thing still left behind.

I don't think Harry is a horcrux either... In a couple of ways it would make sense, and I've come up for several arguments about why is just isn't so; I can't remember them all now.

How does Luna Lovegood read the Quibbler?

Upside down!!!

I'll repeat MysticCat's Question:

There are two comtemporary's of Mineva McGonagall, who was sorted into Gryffindor

Hagrid - sorted into Gryffindor, he started his 1st year when Minerva was in her 5th year

and....

Tom Marvolo Riddle, sorted into Slytherin, he started is 1st year when Minerva was in her 3rd year.

Question: How did Quidditch get it's name?

Very good!! I was thinking of Riddle/HWMNBN, but as soon as I had posted, I realized that Hagrid would be a correct answer as well, even if he isn't a fully-qualified wizard.

And Lindz928, you have to look at clues in the books about time. In Chamber of Secrets, which is set in 1992-93 (we know this because Nearly Headless Nick's 500th Deathday cake says he died in 1492), we learn that Tom Riddle and Hagrid were at school together 50 years earlier. You also have to read "extra-curricular" writings, like the interview JKR gave when Goblet of Fire (set in 1994-95) was published where she said McGonagall is "a spritely seventy." Then, you just have to do the math.

Quidditch got its name from Queerditch Marsh from where it originated.
