I believe in one of our creeds or whatever it says "common ideals and aspirations." Where does homosexuality fit in with that, when a common ideal is Christianity.

One of what creeds? What?

(1) Several huge GLOs aren't based on Christianity. Chi Omega comes to mind, which I believe is based on Hellenic ideals.

(2) I don't know of any social GLOs that don't have non-Christian members.

(3) Many Christians would disagree with you that homosexuality is at odds with Christian ideals.

(4) All Christians would agree that love and refraining from judgement IS a Christian ideal.

One ball house, if one brother doesn't like gays, gays don't get in.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-15-2006 10:42 AM

One ball house, if one brother doesn't like blue polo shirts, the blue polo shirt wearer doesn't get in.

These guys are fratty lurkers. No need to argue with them, all you do is feed their fire.

Go back to your board.

Our open motto is actually "Hellenic Culture and Christian Ideals".
That being said, nowhere in our history does it talk about the girls wanting everyone to be Christian. Nor do we make people accept Jesus at initiation. :)

Ask a REAL christian what the story of sodom and gamorrah (excuse my spelling if incorrect lol) means to them and THEN ask how they feel about homosexuality. I do agree with your fourth point but it doesnt take a judge to see someone is gay.

And before anyone starts going into fits about my post i am serious about what i just said HOWEVER in the spirit of it being a hump day and 9:45am where i'm at... I do post with a hint of humor attached. Folks this morning are going crazy over the littlest thing. I agree with the earlier post that not ALL fraternities have gay members and i will continue to believe that until i see otherwise, but i wont say that if in 15 years i come back to a reunion and Jim is married to Bill instead of Betty, i wont be blown totally out of the water. lol

OhioCentaur 02-15-2006 10:57 AM

Hoosier you are a mess for some of these threads LMAO

What's the deal with your signature? The entertainment value is low, you know.

SigmaChiGuy 02-15-2006 11:14 AM

I used to have the #1 rated sig. on GC. I got tired of it, now I'm starting over. But, I've been starting over for a long time. I'll come up with something, just give me a bit.

Well, I'm a REAL Christian and I know that story. I've also had more than one minister bring up the fact that many think God's REAL problem (not that any of us can try to figure out what God thinks!) was that it was children that were being asked for. The sin was pedophilia!

Women had no place in Biblical times. Men barely had anything to do with women other than their wives. They wouldn't have asked for daughters to have sex with.

Things that make you go hmmmmm......
