I've never seen a pin like this one but wanted to make sure it was the same AXiD and if so wanted to know of its significance (if it's not ritual of course). |
I think this is an old mother's pin. I have a copy of the 1933 Alpha Xi Delta pledge manual and it says ...
The mother's pin is a scroll bearing the Greek Letters supported by a griffin. I always wondered what it looked like .. thanks for posting this .. I have put a bid on it. By the 1950 edition of the pledge manual, the mother's pin pictured is the current one. |
Yep - it's an old mother's pin! I've seen a picture of one before- good luck on bidding!
|
hey! just to let you know...i'm not buying a new quill anytime soon, but i do bid on AXiD stuff as dancer8605 i registered before i became a sister!
|
unfortunatly (at least in this case) ebay has started disguising userids so you can't
tell anymore who the other biders are :-( |
I noticed more have bid on the old mother's pin so I did put a bid on this also. I'm the 5th bid.

It's going for $106 right now.... I kinda want it. But it's so expensive =( |
I'm the highest bidder right now, but don't know if that will last. I'm not sure how ebay comes up with hiding the bidders names since mine doesn't start or end the way it shows up.
|
alright, good deal, let us know if you get it.
I just did a buy it now for a 1935 song book. Woo! |
I have a second edition song book! I was excited when I got that one- I keep it up hidden so my daughter doesn't get her hands on it- she already claimed my Betxi Bear as her own!
|
the old mother's pin went for $155!!
