Nothing too exciting...
I was one of the few students that got to attend the first presidential debate (in 2004) in person- we had to write essays, and they chose the best ones. So I got to see both Kerry and Bush in person. Needless to say, security on campus was CRAZY. I also just got back from living in Australia for 5 months, and I went on a 10 day outback camping trip which was definitely one of the highlights of my life :) |

I saved their butts once when George I was speaking at an Air Force Academy graduation in Falcon Stadium. Their formula didn't take into account that the Academy had painted the background a highly reflective blue, and one of their "normal" lights was so "hot" on the background that it was brighter than the President's face on camera. Very bad news. I actually was told to mind my own business and stewed for a while -- then went back and told them they didn't have to listen, but it was their boss who would look bad, not my pool. The guy sent someone to stand at the podium and looked into the camera and immediately had the offending light removed. Of course he didn't say thank you. I did get some nice "autographed" pics of Clinton when they saw the signed photo of "Marine One" I got from the HMX1 folks after the Papal coverage. Had nothing to do with the coverage, but I took the squadron XO to a Bronco game in the station sky box. |
Para-sailed in Mexico.
