This convention is number 2, number 2, number 2...this is convention #2, have you been to 3? Then I sit down. LOL. I am keeping my fingers crossed. My brother works for sheraton and will be able to get me a room at the hotel (if available), then airfare. And if I can do like I did in Phoenix, I'll try to just pay for the meals I want to attend instead of paying for everything. But we shall see. Basically it all boils down to money. I close on my house in May/June so who knows. But I'm definately a saving! |
it all depends on when i want to graduate and subsequently if i'll have to take summer school. but i really want to go.

No convention for me this year, I dont think the chapter will be sending an advisor this year. In addition to that I'll already be in Boston at the beginning of June for 3 graduations, so I wont be able to make it back at the end of the month. Plus convention falls right on my birthday and I would really like to spend that day with friends and family.

This is the first time I'm not going as an advisor, thus first time I'm paying my way. SO GLAD its drive-able and I don't have to fly! This is Convention number four, number four... have you been to five? [ i sit] |
I will be there...this is my first Convention! I am verrrrry excited! My chapter of initiation plus the chapter that I advise are both up for Golden Lion!!

ok so i really really want to go, but i was looking for more information on the website and not finding any. i seem to remember there being a schedule of events or at least a list of general activities on there last time around, and i'm just really curious what sorts of things to expect in trying to plan around summer school to go to convention.
i guess i'm looking for: - what sort of timeline is typical. (i know it's wednesday-sunday) - what things there are to do - how many activities are usually open to the non-voting folks - what the costs involved are typically like. please PM me or post, because i'm really curious! |
I emailed EO about 2 weeks ago and I too wanted to know all the pricing stuff, etc... They are still working out the details, she couldn't tell me a timeline of when it will be out. I would anticipate no later than the end of March. I'm actually surprised that they don't have the information ready yet because money is usually due around the middle of April.
|
So at DLC we learned that the registration fee for full time attendence has increased from $850 to $900. The registrations from chapters is due mid-April with alums a little later than that. The costs covers your room and all meals at the convention- they also have day rates (for part-time attendees)- not sure how much that is yet.
The business meetings are also open to non-voting folks (as you put it) and they usually have some concurrent workshops for those not interested in the business meeting. There will be a free afternoon on Saturday to explore Boston, Salem or go to the spa... before the final banquet on Saturday night.. The full agenda has not been put out yet ... Hope that helps- convention is a wonderful experience! |

Thank you for the updates, ladies! June will be here before we know it!
|
Just an FYI for everyone who has been waiting patiently for the registration forms, I just received them yesterday so I'm sure it wont be much longer before they are posted online.
|
The information is posted online! I will be attending with the chapter I advise. Hope to see many of you there! Are you going Brianna and Jennie?
|
I would really like to go, but I'm getting married the following weekend and I think I might be overwhelmed.
