Delta Tau Delta OR Delt
Pi Kappa Alpha OR Pika

Delta Tau Delta wasnt at my school but at Alabama I thought people called them da t da. (I hope it wasnt a negative term I thought it was cute)

Also We called Pi Kappa Alpha PIKE and Pi Kappa Phi PIKAP

Add those to my previous list of nick names for glos that I like the sound of.

Lambda is used ALLLLLLL the time in Latino Greek letter orgs:

Frats:
Lambda Upsilon Lambda
Lambda Alpha Upsilon
Lambda Sigma Upsilon
Lambda Theta Phi
Sigma Lambda Beta

Sororities:
Lambda Pi Chi
Lambda Theta Alpha
Lambda Pi Upsilon
Sigma Lambda Gamma
Sigma Lambda Upsilon

Upsilon is used quite a bit, too. I can think of two other orgs not listed above that use upsilon (Chi Upsilon Sigma and Mu Sigma Upsilon).

As for org names that flow, I personally like Sigma Iota Alpha :D , and I think our nickname, SIA (pronounced as one word, like SEEYA, not as 3 separate letters) flows very nicely and works well in a lot of words: legaSIA, notiSIA, fantaSIA, SIAempre, SIAversary, etc etc. :D

I also like the way LUL and Pi Chi sound as nicknames.

Phi Mu

Fraternities

see on my campus, ive heeard it pronounced "psi-aaa" but it is your organization so who am i to say how its pronounced?

and yes, i noticed many latina sororities use lambda.

ive always likes theta, lambda, delta, upsilon and sigma. ironically, the first three are my initials.

Our letters also look good. How many orgs. can combine their letters into one?

There are too many other organizations whose letters flow well together. I agree with all the ones named in the thread so far.

One non-greek letter fraternal org. that has a great name is Groove Phi Groove.

Actually Zeta Sigma Chi makes the roman numeral ten. I don't have a cute picture of it like you though.... :(

Chi Omega
Kappa Alpha Psi
Zeta Sigma Chi

We call them the "Da-Ti-Da's" here too. :)

I always thought Alpha Gamma Delta sounded kinda like a song since the letters are all two syllables and end in -a, but they're a little different.

passionsast 07-23-2005 04:32 PM

...i'm a big fan of Alpha Sigma Tau, myself... but maybe i'm biased ;)

you can't have fantASTic without AST!

Sigma Sigma Sigma sounds cool and so is Omicron pi Omicron. Thats a heavy name, i like it

Lindz928 08-12-2005 10:14 PM

Aside from my beautiful ADP:

I've always liked Tri-Delt because when I think of that name I hear the little rhyme:

Delta Delta Delta
Can I help ya help ya help ya

I think it's too cute.

I always thought that Phi Delta Theta was one of those great "movie" sounding fraternity names. Love it.

I also like the look of greek orgs whose letters don't look like alphabet letters. Like DG, DDD, FDQ, SSS

I'm sure there are others, but there are a few.

Ndigayenza 01-28-2006 06:21 AM

I just like saying greek letters period (speaks greek). BUT I enjoy saying:

Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Incorporada (my org...yes i say the WHOLE name just like that-in spanish lol) or just SIA (SEEYAH)

Phi Iota Alpha (PhiAs, Phiota)

ZPhiB or just Zetas to me

Lamda Sigma Upsilong, like my Hermana said earlier, lots of Latin orgs have Lambda in there name

Sigma Lambda Upsilong (SLUs)

the LTPhis (or jus Lambdas)

Ques (ooooooo they are wonderfule. For those who don't know it's Omega Psi Phi).

Kappa Alpha Psi (Kappas)

Phi Beta Sigma (Sigmas)

Cussies (Chi Upsilon Sigma)

yeah, anything that sounds good either shortented or in full.

PhoenixAzul 01-28-2006 11:25 AM

I think that Pi Beta Phi just sounds really nice together, and when shortened to Pi Phi is still cute.

Alpha Xi Delta too...again, just sounds "together".
