Crappy schemes
There are so many Greeks (and even non-Greek) out there who are trying to make a quick buck out of books, films, whatever, with incomplete and/or inaccurate information. I guess their target audience are the one who are interested in a specific fraternity/sorority. People need to do their research before supporting "half-a****" projects.
Just my opinion. |
Does anyone know how this film will be marketed? It seems like they are investing a lot of time and money into it for it to go straight to video like the "Big Walt" movies.
Oh yeah, I know a couple of people who auditioned. One is a good friend of mine from NY (Delta) who just happened to be in the area at the time...she didn't get the part. She said she had fun at the audition but I don't think she got a whole bunch of information about the project. The other young lady I know will be playing Edna Brown (Coleman) in the movie and she has also a Delta. |
Black Sorority Project Update
Sorors I guess we can expect to view the finished documentary soon. Also, on November 9th and 12th, 2005 historian interviews were supposedly held. I would like to know who they interviewed since this documentary is not approved by HQs.
November 28, 2005 Project: Documentary Black Sorority Project Derek and Jamar Productions, LLC and Red Wall Productions have entered the editing phase of this project. Set at Howard University at the turn of the 20th century, this film will chronicle the events of early African-American sorority life in America. http://www.redwallproductions.com/HOTNEWS.htm Also, on the link below are two photos from the set of the Black Sorority Project. http://www.redwallproductions.com/Desktop.html Documentary Projects Black Sorority Project Derek and Jamar Productions LLC have teamed with us to chronicle the events of the founding of Delta Sigma Theta. (In Post Production) http://www.redwallproductions.com/Pr...velopement.htm |
Thanks for the update soror!:D
But I still have a bad feeling about this...:( |
It appears that the website for this project is being updated. Also, Maryam Myika Day is the associate producer, the executive producer is Derek Fordjour and Rosalyn Coleman-Williams is the director for this documentary.

I also hope they portray what happened in the meeting in 1912 properly. There are a lot of things that could be misrepresented in the film. I'm ready to see how much information they have obtained and plan to put out to the public. This should be very interesting. Can't wait to see it. |

Not sure how you took the hold my mule statement. Wasn't meant to be hostile/offensive. That's just a phrase I use a lot in response to a lot of things just as I use Lawd Yes/Yes Lawd! I'm just real silly. Sorry if you got offended. As far as me being bold, etc., everyone is entitled to there own opinion and perceptions. I speak my mind just like everyone else. Take it the best way you know how. It's not that serious boo. |
